En vista de las pocas recompensas que generan alguna publicaciones que tienen como nicho el cine, he decidido hacer este post que lo tenía pensado desde hace varios años, pero creo que el momento ha llegado porque cada vez son más las personas que tienen acceso a plataformas de streaming y que utilizan su tiempo libre para ver películas y series de televisión. La demanda de shows y de películas en estas plataformas es algo increíble y que crece desmesuradamente, por lo que la cantidad de reseñas acá en Hive también crece, sobretodo cuando hay una serie o película en mainstream vemos repetidamente las películas en los blogs de nuestros usuarios.
Greetings to all who make life in this and other communities. In view of the few rewards that generate some publications that have as a niche the cinema, I decided to make this post that I had thought for several years, but I think the time has come because more and more people have access to streaming platforms and use their free time to watch movies and TV series. The demand for shows and movies on these platforms is something incredible and growing disproportionately, so the amount of reviews here at Hive is also growing, especially when there is a series or movie in the mainstream we repeatedly see the movies in the blogs of our users.
Sin embargo, la mayoría de estas publicaciones son descartables, muchos no saben que decir ni de que hablar y es cuando llega el momento en el que empiezan a tomar las peores desiciones: plagio, a hacer resúmenes (contar toda la película con lujo y detalles), publicaciones de menos de 600 palabras en dos idiomas o hacer los temidos spoilers. Esta es la razón por la que por ayudarte a ti y a la comunidad en general, decidí recopilar una serie de recomendaciones para que esas reseñas sean tan brillante como las películas que ves.
However, most of these publications are disposable, many don't know what to say or what to talk about and that's when the moment comes when they start making the worst decisions: plagiarism, summarizing (telling the whole movie in detail), publications of less than 600 words in two languages or making the dreaded spoilers. This is why, to help you and the community in general, I decided to compile a series of recommendations to make those reviews as brilliant as the movies you watch.
Watch the movie
1.- Ponte cómodo, abre tu mente, relájate, pon tu película o tv show y empieza. Puedes tener a la mano lápiz y papel, o simplemente déjate llevar. Procura que mientras estés viendo la película nadie te interrumpa, y si necesitas hacer una pausa, espera estas partes serenas que siempre pasan, generalmente después de un punto emocionante viene alguna escena tranquila para que puedas calmar un poco tus emociones. Esto es porque las interrupciones te sacan del ambiente que ha creado el director para que disfrutes de la película.
Get comfortable, open your mind, relax, put on your movie or TV show and start. You can have a pencil and paper at hand, or just let yourself go. Make sure that while you are watching the movie no one interrupts you, and if you need to pause, wait for these serene parts that always happen, usually after an exciting point comes a quiet scene so you can calm your emotions a bit. This is because interruptions take you out of the mood the director has created for you to enjoy the movie.

2.- Cuando termines de ver la película toma nota de lo más importante que viste, de los sentimientos que te dejó en caliente y no hagas el post aún. Duerme y espera al otro día. ¿Qué, qué? ¿Que tienes que esperar para escribir tu publicación? Sí, es mi mejor consejo, dejar descansar un poco la emoción y esperar que se amanse la adrenalina. Esto hará que cuando escribas lo hagas con la cabeza fresca y que ya hayas asimilado lo que viste y tal vez puedas incluso cambiar un poco de perspectiva.
When you finish watching the movie take note of the most important things you saw, the feelings it left you with, and don't make your post yet. Sleep and wait for the next day. What, what, you have to wait to write your post? Yes, that's my best bet, let the excitement rest a bit and wait for the adrenaline to subside. This will make it so that when you write you do it with a fresh head and that you've already assimilated what you saw and maybe you can even change your perspective a little.

3.- Para empezar a escribir primero haz una introducción, no entres de lleno, capta el interés para que cuando ya hallamos avanzado en la lectura nos tengas cautivado. Luego continúa. Has una pequeña sinopsis de la película y si quiera puedes dar algunos datos de los actores, directores, escritores y de la parte técnica, aunque no es tan importante. Luego de esto es que viene lo importante, la verdadera reseña, porque esto, que es lo que tienden a hacer en la mayoría de las publicaciones, no es lo que queremos leer.
To start writing first make an introduction, do not enter fully, capture the interest so that when we have already advanced in the reading you have us captivated. After this comes the important part, the real review, because this, which is what most publications tend to do, is not what we want to read.

4.- Sé tú mismo a la hora de hablar, no nos cuentes la película, no queremos leer todo el resumen, si haces esto nos quitas la emoción de ir a verla. Lo importante es lo que te dejó, la razón de por qué te gustó. Nuestra voz a la hora de escribir es lo que más evaluamos los curadores, no estás entregando una monografía para el colegio, estás contando a otros la experiencia que tuviste mientras veías la película, para esto tienes que contarnos todo como si de un chisme se tratara, que mantenga la atención del lector.
Be yourself when talking, don't tell us about the movie, we don't want to read the whole summary if you do this you take away the excitement of going to see it. The important thing is what it left you with, the reason why you liked it. Our voice when writing is what we curators evaluate the most, you are not delivering a monograph for school, you are telling others the experience you had while watching the film, for this you have to tell us everything as if it were a gossip, to keep the reader's attention.

5.- Intenta no leer otras reseñas o comentarios de la película antes de escribir. Esto es bastante personal, puedes hacerlo, yo en lo particular no lo hago para no influenciarme de otras críticas y hacer mis reseñas desde mi completo punto de vista, al momento de hacer una reseña no he leído nada antes. Esto hace tu reseña completamente diferente, hace que te destaques. Lo mejor de hacer esto es que muchas veces cuando vas a leer otras críticas y reseñas puedes encontrar puntos similares con otras personas y es genial darte cuenta de que hay alguien más que comparta tu opinión.
Try not to read other reviews or comments about the movie before writing. This is quite personal, you can do it, I particularly don't do it in order not to be influenced by other reviews and make my reviews from my complete point of view, at the moment of making a review I haven't read anything before. This makes your review completely different, it makes you stand out. The best thing about doing this is that many times when you go to read other reviews you can find similar points with other people and it's great to realize that there is someone else who shares your opinion.

6.- Evita los Spoilers. A ver, esto es lo más importante y altamente difícil a la hora de escribir, aquí es donde radica la importancia de hacer una buena reseña, como contar que pasó con lo que viste sin decir lo más importante, la cúspide de la película, lo que lo cambia todo: giros argumentales, apariciones especiales, quien muere, a quien besan, quien se queda con quién y lo más importante: quién es el asesino. No hagan esto, las películas están hechas (al menos las buenas) para llevarnos por un carrusel de emociones, para que lloremos, gritemos, nos molestemos, riamos, todo esto será imposible si nos dices lo más importante de la película. Aguanta las ganas o solo comenta esto con personas que ya han visto la película, así te matas el impulso de querer contar todo. Si es necesario hacer un spoiler señala muy grande que vas a contar algo importante de la película para que así la persona que esté leyendo la publicación pueda saltarse esta parte.
Avoid Spoilers. 7.- Si una película no te gustó también puedes hacer una reseña, no todas las reseñas deben ser de películas que te hayan gustado, y nos pasa mucho que estamos viendo algo que no soportamos, habla de ello, es súper válido e interesante ver un punto de vista different.
If you didn't like a movie you can also do a review, not all reviews should be of movies you liked, and it happens to us a lot that we are watching something we can't stand, talk about it, it's super valid and interesting to see a different point of view.

8.- Diviértete. Al final, vemos películas y series para divertirnos, en el momento en el que cambiamos ese pensamiento y vemos esto como un trabajo o solo una manera de hacer dinero, ahí se pierde la gracia y se nota en la publicación. Extiendete, estas publicaciones deben tener esfuerzo, escribe, nada te frena de hablar mucho acerca de la película, busca dentro de tí y notarás que tienes muchas cosas por decir. ¿Quieres números? Más de mil palabras en los dos idiomas, y esto es muy poco, yo recomiendo al menos 2000 palabras en ambos idiomas.

Extend yourself, these publications should have effort, write, nothing stops you from talking a lot about the movie, look inside yourself and you will notice that you have a lot of things to say. Todos estos son tips generales que pueden ayudarte a hacer de tu publicación algo genial. También voy a aprovechar la oportunidad para hablar un poco de las imágenes que usaremos y sus fuentes.
Los pósters de las películas, series, documentales, etc. tienen derechos de autor, sin embargo, hay como una especie de vacío legal, incluso las propias productoras lanzan imágenes promocionales, que son las que quieren que sean distribuidas. No recomiendo hacer es tomar capturas de pantalla de las pantallas de streaming, de hecho hay aplicaciones no permiten capturas de pantalla, ellos ya han distribuido las imágenes que quieren que veas y estas son las que recomiendo utilizar pero siempre, haciendo mención de las fuentes de dónde las tomaste.
En cuanto a los pósters en específico, dejen los pósters como están: si sale la marca de Netflix, Amazon, HBO, etc, deben dejarlo porque así le estás otorgando el crédito a quien lo debe tener, en este caso al servicio de streaming.

The posters of movies, series, documentaries, etc. are copyrighted, however, there is kind of a loophole, even the production companies themselves release promotional images, which are the ones they want to be distributed. I do not recommend taking screenshots of the streaming screens, in fact, there are applications that do not allow screenshots, they have already distributed the images they want you to see and these are the ones I recommend using but always mentioning the sources from where you took them.
As for the posters specifically, leave the posters as they are: if the Netflix, Amazon, HBO, etc. brand comes out, you should leave it because this way you are giving the credit to the one who should have it, in this case to the streaming service.
