¡Hola a todos! Recientemente vi una película llamada "El Asesino de las Postales", ésta fue estrenada en el 2020, protagonizada por Jeffrey Dean Morgan, quien, a mi parecer a pesar de haber visto sólo dos películas en las que él tenía el papel principal, ha hecho un gran rol como actor y sabe desempeñar los papeles que le corresponden, algunos lo pueden reconocer de “The Walking Dead”. Fue grabada en Gran Bretaña y te da un pequeño paseo por el continente Europeo, aunque no por motivos turísticos exactamente… Según me han contado, el estreno de la película no tuvo mucho de qué hablar ya que no se le prestó la atención suficiente, sin embargo, el tráiler en Netflix dejó mucha curiosidad para quien lo pudo ver antes del estreno. Debo acotar que no hubo razón alguna para ver la película, no tuve ningún impulso, ni siquiera había escuchado antes el título, pero al verlo entre las recomendadas decidí intentar verla para conocer un poco más, aunque la trama con el título fue evidente.
Hello everyone! I recently saw a movie called "The Postcard Killings", this one was released in 2020, starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who, in my opinion despite having seen only two movies in which he had the lead role, has done a great role as an actor and knows how to play the roles he is cast in, some may recognize him from "The Walking Dead". It was filmed in Great Britain and gives you a little tour of the European continent, though not for tourist purposes exactly... From what I've been told, the premiere of the movie didn't have much to talk about as it wasn't given enough attention, however, the thriller on Netflix left a lot of curiosity for those who were able to see it before the premiere. I must point out that there was no reason to see the film, I had no impulse, I had not even heard the title before, but seeing it among the recommended ones I decided to try to see it to know a little more, although the plot with the title was evident.
Ya en cuanto a la película, ésta empieza con la muerte de una joven pareja recién casada en Londres, el cual parece ser el segundo homicidio de un asesino serial ya que el primero ocurrió igual, pero en la ciudad de Madrid. La razón por la que estas personas son las iniciales en la trama de la historia, es que la chica es hija de un detective del Departamento de la Policía de Nueva York que, devastado por la muerte de su hija única, se encarga de ejercer por su cuenta la búsqueda del culpable, usando su cargo para ayudarse en ciertas situaciones e influenciando a las demás autoridades para que empiecen a investigar respecto al caso. La principal similitud que resulta ser la más macabra en todas las muertes (además del simple hecho de ser homicidios) es que el asesino se encarga de preparar los cuerpos de la pareja en conjunto para crear obras de arte históricas que ocurrieron hace millones de años, esto implica el hecho de quitarles alguna extremidad del cuerpo que en la obra no se evidencie, para colocarlo en otro que la necesite.
As for the film, it begins with the death of a young newlywed couple in London, which seems to be the second homicide of a serial killer since the first one happened the same way, but in the city of Madrid. The reason why these people are the initial ones in the plot of the story is that the girl is the daughter of a detective of the New York Police Department who, devastated by the death of his only daughter, takes it upon himself to search for the culprit, using his position to help himself in certain situations and influencing the other authorities to start investigating the case. The main similarity that turns out to be the most macabre in all the deaths (besides the simple fact of being homicides) is that the murderer is in charge of preparing the bodies of the couple together to create historical works of art that occurred millions of years ago, this involves the fact of removing some limb of the body that is not evident in the work, to place it in another that needs it.

Tomé estas capturas mientras veía la película para poder explicar mejor este punto, como ven acá, así se presenció una de las escenas del crimen, expresando esta obra a la perfección, no quiero colocar precisamente la muerte porque el contenido se ve claramente y puede resultar muy fuerte para algunas personas, a pesar de poder observarse allí como algo relativamente normal y que forma parte de una doctrina religiosa, viendo desde una perspectiva realista, expresarlo mediante una muerte es algo completamente diferente.
I took these captures while watching the film to better explain this point, as you can see here, this is how one of the crime scenes was witnessed, expressing this work to perfection, I do not want to place precisely the death because the content is clearly seen and may be very hard for some people, although it can be seen there as something relatively normal and that is part of a religious doctrine, seeing it from a realistic perspective, expressing it through a death is something completely different.
Esta es la obra principal de la película, así estaban el yerno y la hija del detective postrados en su cama, sin una gota de sangre en el cuerpo y a la segunda le faltaba el resto del brazo que no se puede ver debido a estar en la boca del otro sujeto; el cual, si mal no recuerdo, fue utilizado en otra obra.
This is the main work of the film, so were the detective's son-in-law and daughter bedridden, without a drop of blood in the body and the second one was missing the rest of the arm that cannot be seen due to being in the mouth of the other subject; which, if I remember correctly, was used in another work.
Ahora, ¿qué tiene que ver esto con las postales? // Now, what does it have to do with postcards?
Pues, en cada una de las muertes, el asesino dejaba una postal en algún medio de prensa unos días antes de poder encontrar los cadáveres, esta era su forma de dar aviso a las autoridades de lo que ocurriría, los escritos que se encontraban impresos en cada una fueron difíciles de comprender para quien lo leía, pero en el transcurso de la película, todo queda bien explicado. No quiero dar muchos detalles porque son cosas a apreciar mientras la observas, el contenido de éstas tienen una gran historia detrás y es lo que te ayudará para poder entender la perspectiva del asesino (por más tétrico que suene eso). Sin embargo, igual dejaré una captura de pantalla de la primera postal para dar un poco más de contexto.
Well, in each of the deaths, the murderer left a postcard in a newspaper a few days before finding the bodies, this was his way of warning the authorities of what would happen, the writings that were printed on each one were difficult to understand for those who read it, but in the course of the film, everything is well explained. I don't want to give too many details because they are things to appreciate while you watch it, the content of these have a great story behind them and that is what will help you to understand the perspective of the murderer (as creepy as that sounds). Hay que tener en cuenta que no es una película apta para todo público, contiene escenas perturbadoras y declaraciones que podrían generar polémica o malentendidos en ciertos grupos de personas ya que se salen de lo convencional, además de tener mucho cuidado con los detalles a la hora de presentar los cuerpos sin vida de las víctimas. Esto no significa que no se pueda apreciar la película, un admirador de este género que esté abierto a la comprensión de las escenas y a todo el misterio que envuelve cada una de ellas, puede llegar a sentir mucha fascinación por el contenido de la película.
It should be noted that this is not a film suitable for all audiences, it contains disturbing scenes and statements that could generate controversy or misunderstandings in certain groups of people as they are out of the conventional, in addition to being very careful with the details when presenting the lifeless bodies of the victims. This does not mean that the film cannot be appreciated, an admirer of this genre who is open to the understanding of the scenes and all the mystery that surrounds each one of them, can become very fascinated by the content of the film.
Mi opinión personal. // My personal opinion.
En cuanto a mi valoración personal con respecto a la película, le podría dar un 9 de 10 puntos porque el género es algo que disfruto muy a menudo, por lo general soy más de leer este tipo de historias pero la película ha tenido muchas cosas positivas y las actuaciones de cada personaje han sido excepcionales, no obstante, pude ver algo acerca de que ésta es una adaptación de un libro, pero no me he documentado mucho al respecto. A los actores no los he visto muchas veces en pantalla, aunque son profesionales porque investigué un poco acerca de ellos, pero si los he visto anteriormente, no recuerdo los papeles que han desarrollado. Sin dudas creo que es una película que vale la pena ver y que recomendaría sin problemas para los fanáticos del misterio, también es interesante que el final ha dejado abierta la posibilidad de existencia de una segunda parte, de ello no hay noticias, pero sería genial poder apreciar si esto es realmente un aviso con respecto a eso.
As for my personal rating regarding the movie, I could give it an 9 out of 10 points because the genre is something I enjoy very often, I'm usually more of a reader of this kind of stories but the movie had many positive things and the performances of each character were exceptional, however, I could see something about this being an adaptation of a book, but I haven't done much research on it. The actors I haven't seen many times on screen, although they are professionals because I did some research about them, but if I have seen them before, I don't remember the roles they have developed. I definitely think it is a movie worth watching and I would highly recommend it for mystery fans, it is also interesting that the ending has left open the possibility of the existence of a second part, of which there is no news, but it would be great to be able to appreciate if this is really a warning with respect to that.
