Public Domain Movies: The Stranger

Hello, everyone!

Orson Welles' The Stranger shocked American audiences immediately after the end of World War II with real footage from concentration camps and the idea that many Nazis were still present in society, but no one knew.
It is another Welles masterpiece that is unfortunately not as often mentioned as Citizen Kane (1941) or Chimes at Midnight (1965). It is therefore worth looking at it and judging if it is justified.

Plot:
Mr. Wilson, on behalf of the UN War Crimes Commission, is chasing Franz Kindler, a Nazi criminal who has erased all traces behind him. Kindler moved to a small town in America where, under the name of Charles Rankin, he is married to a judge’s daughter and serves as a teacher. Wilson releases Kindler's co-worker Meinike from prison to bring him to the Kindler. However, the latter tries to keep his disguise. No matter who dies.
