As you know, I am analyzing Asian TV series. Last week we reviewed a Taiwanese BL drama. This week, we'll be reviewing a romantic drama from China. I don't usually like watching historical TV series. In fact, after watching this series, I don't think I will watch a series with this concept for a long time. It was a little tiring.

Actually, the series starts off well. I can't say I'm overly excited. But I like romantic dramas and it's not much like other dramas. The only problem was that some places were boring. The series consists of 30 episodes. After the twenty-fourth episode, I got a little bored watching it. I wish there were fewer episodes. Thus, it could have been a much more memorable and flowing series.
It's a common stereotype that couples have arguments or are hostile to each other before falling in love. But I like cliches. So it didn't bother me much. I must also say that they were one of the most compatible couples I've ever seen. Without further ado, let's take a closer look at the subject!
General's Lady
It stars Caesar Wu and Tang Min. Tang Min plays the character of Shen Jin (Jin'er), the daughter of an aristocrat. Jin'er is the daughter of an unwanted concubine in the mansion. For this reason, he is often mistreated by his family. The only person who loves him is his mother. But despite all she's been through, Jin'er is a very pure and kind hearted girl.
Caesar Wu plays the notorious General Chu Xiu Ming. People know him as the devil general. Actually, Chu Xiu Ming is a kindhearted person. But his success on the battlefield has made him famous in this way.
The emperor wants the general to get married and he publishes a paper. It says that the second daughter of the general and aristocrat should get married. But the aristocrat and his family think the general is bad and ugly. So instead of his second daughter, he sends his third daughter, Jin'er, who is only a few days younger, to the general's mansion.
After many difficulties on the way, Jin'er arrives the general's mansion. But the general is not as ugly as he thinks. He's also very good. But he suspected that Jin'er might be a spy. That's why he secretly follows her. He even locks her in a room so that Jin'er can't escape. But Jin'er easily unlocks the door. General admired Jin'er.
The General is after a secret and Jin'er helps him. In a mausoleum, arrows suddenly start shooting at them. The General is injured to protect Jin'er, and it's here that the two become close for the first time. Later, while dressing the general's wound, Jin'er confesses her love and the love adventure of the two begins. In the continuation of the series, the events usually develop around the main couple and end well.
Now it's time to give some ideas. Actually, I think the subject is handled well. But the series was more like a romantic-comedy. Romantic scenes were few, but comedy scenes were the majority. I think the acting is good. Especially Tang Min was very successful. It captured every emotion very well.
Stage lighting was pretty good. I don't remember watching a dark scene. The venues were very well designed. It was nice to feel like I was watching a historical drama. Supporting roles were also very active. This also added a liveliness to the script. Especially Cutie Pie was very cute. I think there are two problems in the series. Firstly, the romantic scenes of the main couple were very few. I think this is a big problem in a drama about romance. The second problem was that some places were boring for me. But the boring parts weren't too long. Therefore, it is not an obstacle to watch the series. That's why I recommend watching the series.
