Hola de nuevo! Hoy les traigo un post bastante genial en el cual les hablaré sobre mis películas favoritas de Tim Burton. Hace poco vi una película de este director llamada El cadáver de la novia y me puse a pensar en todas las películas que tiene este director y así nació este post, ya que las películas de Burton me han acompañado desde la niñez. Las películas de este director son caracterizadas por su estilo gótico inspirado en films de terror de los años 20, mezclándolos con temas fantásticos en su mayoría, así que hoy les mostraré las películas que más me gustan de él, comencemos!
Hello again! Today I come to you with a pretty cool post in which I will tell you about my favorite Tim Burton movies. I recently saw a movie of this director that I really like called The Corpse Bride and I started thinking about all the excellent films that this director has and so this post was born, since Burton's films have accompanied me since childhood. The films of this director are characterized by his gothic style inspired by horror films of the 20's, mixing them with fantastic themes mostly, so today I will show you the movies I like the most of him, let's go!
Una película icónica para el director, marcando su esencia primordial de fantasía con estética gótica. Protagonizada por el actor favorito del director Johnny Depp y Winona Ryder, la historia gira entorno a a Eduardo (Edward), un joven mitad humano y mitad robot el cual no fue terminado ya que su creador murió, cuya característica que más destaca es que sus manos fueron reemplazadas por grandes tijeras. Este joven es encontrado por una señora llamada Peg, quedando cautivada por su amabilidad e inocencia, llevándolo a la casa con la sorpresa de que nadie se asusta, sino todo lo contrario, causa bastante intriga entre la familia y los vecinos. La única que no acepta a Edward es la hija de Peg, Kim, pero poco a poco a medida que pasa la historia se van enamorando. A partir de su llegada conocemos como su aislamiento provoca que se aprovechen de su bondad al punto de no definir si algo está bien o mal, ya que solo le hace favores a los demás, además de ver los problemas en los que se mete sin querer. Es muy difícil no agarrarle cariño al simpático Edward, además de que me fascina la pelta de colores que posee la película, y un trabajo excelente en la banda sonora de la mano de Danny Elfman, que admite que es su trabajo favorito.
An iconic film for the director, marking its primordial essence of fantasy with gothic aesthetics. Starring the director's favorite actor Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder, the story revolves around Edward (Edward), a young man half human and half robot which was not finished since its creator died, whose most outstanding feature is that his hands were replaced by large scissors. This young man is found by a lady named Peg, being captivated by his kindness and innocence, taking him home with the surprise that no one is frightened, but on the contrary, causes quite intrigue among the family and neighbors. The only one who does not accept Edward is Peg's daughter, Kim, but little by little as the story goes by they fall in love. From his arrival we learn how his isolation causes them to take advantage of his kindness to the point of not defining whether something is right or wrong, since he only does favors for others, besides seeing the problems he gets into unintentionally. It is very difficult not to get fond of the nice Edward, besides I am fascinated by the colorful film, and an excellent work in the soundtrack by Danny Elfman, who admits that it is his favorite work.
Película animada en stop motion estrenada en el año 1993, siendo una de las más icónicas del director con la temática de fantasía oscura y con un pequeño toque musical, teniendo canciones muy buenas. La historia está ambientada en la ciudad ficticia llamada Halloween Town, presentando al protagonista Jack Skellintong (Skeleton en español), el cual ya está cansado de celebrar Halloween todo el tiempo, queriendo experimentar algo nuevo. Un día paseando con su perro fantasma, Jack llega a un conjunto de árboles que tienen puertas que lo llevan a diferentes festividades, al protagonista le llama la atención un árbol peculiar que está cubierto de luces, descubriendo el mundo de la navidad, lleno de muchas luces, nieve y sobre todo, felicidad, quedando sumamente maravillado. Al regresar a su ciudad comienza la aventura de Jack por presentarle a su ciudad la navidad, donde los habitantes no entienden como celebrarla ya que básicamente son monstruos acostumbrados al terror, por lo que Jack se esfuerza en buscarle el significado a la festividad para que su ciudad la celebre. Me encanta esta película porque mezcla dos festividades que me encantan, además de tener una de las mejores bandas sonoras para mí, un tono oscuro típico de las películas de Burton y además, en su tiempo incluso marco un estilo de moda para los que les gustaba el estilo gótico (me incluyo).
Stop motion animated film released in 1993, being one of the most iconic of the director with the theme of dark fantasy and with a little musical touch, having very good songs. The story is set in the fictional town called Halloween Town, featuring the protagonist Jack Skellintong (Skeleton in Spanish), who is tired of celebrating Halloween all the time, wanting to experience something new. One day walking with his ghost dog, Jack comes to a set of trees that have doors that lead to different festivities, the protagonist is struck by a peculiar tree that is covered with lights, discovering the world of Christmas, full of lights, snow and above all, happiness, being extremely amazed. Upon returning to his town, Jack's adventure begins to introduce Christmas to his city, where the inhabitants do not understand how to celebrate it because they are basically monsters accustomed to terror, so Jack strives to find the meaning of the holiday for his city to celebrate it. I love this movie because it mixes two festivities that I love, besides having one of the best soundtracks for me, a dark tone typical of Burton's films and also, in its time it even set a fashion style for those who liked the gothic style (I include myself).
Esta película es una de las más peculiares y bonitas que hecho. Estrenada en el año 2012, está película animada en stop motion y blanco y negro, contando la historia de Victor Frankenstein, un niño que vive en una ciudad llamada New Holland junto a sus padres y su muy amado perro, Sparky. Un día llega a clases y vbe que hay un nuevo profesor de ciencias que cautiva a los estudiantes por ser una persona algo peculiar,invitándolos a una feria de ciencias. Los padres de Víctor aceptan que participe a cambio de jugar béisbol para que así salga más, ya que es un niño muy aislado. A mitad del juego Víctor marca un homerun y su perro Sparky escapa de las gradas para perseguir la pelota,sin embargo un carro lo arrolla y el perrito muere frente a los ojos de Víctor. Nuestro protagonista queda destrozado, pero un día gracias al profesor de ciencias descubre el efecto de la electricidad para reanimar seres vivos, lo cual hace que desentierre a su perro y comienza a experimentar en su ático, gracias a unos cables que hacen que fluya la corriente los conecta a su perrito, cayendo un rayo que lo trae de nuevo a la vida para sorpresa del niño. A partir de aquí comienza una sombría pero linda historia sobre el amor de un humano a su mascota, además delos esfuerzos de Victor para que nadie se entere que revivió a su perro, ya que ese tipo de experimentación pueden estar en las manos incorrectas. Definitivamente una gran película.
This movie is one of the most peculiar and beautiful films ever made. Released in 2012, this black and white stop motion animated film tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, a boy who lives in a town called New Holland with his parents and his beloved dog, Sparky. One day he arrives to class and sees a new science teacher who captivates the students by being a somewhat peculiar person, inviting them to a science fair. Victor's parents agree to let him participate in exchange for playing baseball so that he can get out more, since he is a very isolated child. In the middle of the game Victor hits a homerun and his dog Sparky escapes from the stands to chase the ball, but a car runs over him and the little dog dies in front of Victor's eyes. Our protagonist is devastated, but one day thanks to the science teacher discovers the effect of electricity to reanimate living beings, which makes him dig up his dog and begins to experiment in his attic, thanks to some wires that make the current flow connects them to his dog, falling lightning that brings him back to life to the surprise of the boy. From here begins a somber but cute story about the love of a human for his pet, as well as Victor's efforts so that no one finds out that he brought his dog back to life, since that kind of experimentation can be in the wrong hands. Definitely a great movie.
Recuerdo que de niña amaba tanto esta película que la vi varias veces en el DVD de mis padres ya que la historia me cautivaba. La trama comienza hablándonos de Charlie Bucket, un niño sumamente dulce y amable, el cual es pobre, viviendo en una pequeña casa junto a sus padres y sus cuatro abuelos, viviendo gracias al trabajo del padre del protagonista. Un día el abuelo paterno le cuenta a Charlie la historia de Willy Wonka el cual tiene una gran fábrica de chocolate en la misma ciudad y como gracias a varios problemas con otros dulceros, cerró la fábrica despidiéndolo a él y a otros trabajadores. De la nada Willy Wonka anuncia que ocultó 5 boletos dorados en sus barras de chocolate alrededor del mundo y los niños que consigan dichos boletos podrán ir por un día a la fábrica,además diciendo que uno de ellos ganará un premio muy especial. El padre de Charlie pierde su empleo y el sueño de Charlie de visitar la fábrica se ve truncado ya que no puede pagar muchos chocolates.
I remember that as a child I loved this movie so much that I watched it several times on my parents' DVD because the story captivated me. The plot begins by telling us about Charlie Bucket, an extremely sweet and kind boy, who is poor, living in a small house with his parents and his four grandparents, living thanks to the work of the protagonist's father. One day the paternal grandfather tells Charlie the story of Willy Wonka who has a big chocolate factory in the same city and how, thanks to several problems with other candy makers, he closed the factory, firing him and other workers. Out of the blue Willy Wonka announces that he has hidden 5 golden tickets in his chocolate bars around the world and the children who get these tickets will be able to go to the factory for a day, also saying that one of them will win a very special prize. Charlie's father loses his job and Charlie's dream of visiting the factory is cut short as he can't afford many chocolates.
4 niños los cuales son bastante cuestionables ya que uno es glotón, una es presuntuosa, otra mimada y el último engreído, consiguen los boletos dorados y Charlie no consigue el boleto luego de dos intentos, sin embargo una tarde consigue un billete en la calle y con eso compra una barra de chocolate que para su sorpresa contiene el último boleto dorado. Al día siguiente se alista con su abuelo Joe para ir a la fábrica y aquí comienza el gran paseo de Charlie junto a los niños, liderado por el enigmático chocolatero Willy Wonka. Vemos como cada niño sufre las consecuencias de sus malas actitudes y como Charlie cautiva un poquito al señor Wonka aunque no lo demuestre, de verdad que esta versión de Tim Burton de la afamada novela homónima, con una banda sonora increíble y la paleta de colores sombría que caracteriza las películas del director, lo cual a mí me fascina.
4 children who are quite questionable since one is gluttonous, one is presumptuous, one is spoiled and the last one is conceited, get the golden tickets and Charlie does not get the ticket after two attempts, however one afternoon he gets a ticket in the street and with that he buys a chocolate bar that to his surprise contains the last golden ticket. The next day he gets ready with his grandfather Joe to go to the factory and here begins Charlie's great walk with the children, led by the enigmatic chocolatier Willy Wonka. We see how each child suffers the consequences of his bad attitudes and how Charlie captivates Mr. Wonka a little bit even though he doesn't show it, really, this Tim Burton's version of the famous novel of the same name, with an incredible soundtrack and the somber color palette that characterizes the director's films, which I love.
