Hola de nuevo! Hoy les traigo un post súper genial por motivo de otro concurso de @OCD, esta vez para la comunidad Movies & TV Shows, lugar donde de conocido muchísimas series y películas increíbles. La verdad me encanta participar porque siempre las ideas que ponen para estos concursos me inspiran a escribir. Esta vez se trata de escoger tres preguntas que pueden ver con más detalle aquí, de las cuales me costó escoger cual responder. Al final elegí la tercera pregunta que es "¿quiénes son tus villanos favoritos en las películas o series de televisión y por qué?". Para una excelente historia usualmente debe haber un buen antagonista, una persona que contradiga los ideales de los protagonistas y que desarrolle esa enemistad de manera excelente, que tengan buenos arcos de redención, finales muy buenos, e incluso a veces podemos estar medianamente de acuerdo de las razones que los llevaron a ser como son, así que hoy les hablaré sobre mis villanos favoritos de series y películas!

Hello again! Today I come with a very cool post for another @OCD contest, this time for the Movies & TV Shows community, a place where I've met a lot of amazing series and movies. I really love to participate because the ideas they post for these contests always inspire me to write. This time it's about choosing three questions that you can see in more detail here, of those I had a hard time choosing which one to answer. In the end I chose the third question which is "who are your favorite villains in movies or TV series and why?". For an excellent story there usually must be a good antagonist, a person who contradicts the ideals of the protagonists and who develops that enmity in an excellent way, who have good redemption arcs, very good endings, and sometimes we can even agree with each other about the reasons that led them to be the way they are, so today I will tell you about my favorite villains in series and movies!

Hannibal Lecter
(The Silence of the Lambs)
Esta película me parece sublime, tiene una trama tipo thriller psicológicos y a la vez de terror que nos mantiene en tensión por bastante tiempo. La película se enfoca en buscar al asesino Buffalo Bill que parecer el villano principal pero la verdad no es el foco principal, lo que notamos es como la agente Clarice Starling se encarga de la investigación, pero para ello debe hablar con un caníbal y psiquiatra Hannibal Lecter, el cual está recluido por obvias razones. Es interesante ver lo inteligente que es este personaje, ya que intenta adentrarse en la mente de la protagonista la cual llega a contarle sus profundos traumas y la historia de escuchar llantos de corderos y no poder salvarlos (lo que da el nombre de la película), y estos llantos la atormentan. De un momento a otro en una serie de eventos que tarda mucho en explicarse Hannibal escapa de manera exitosa, ya que es un hombre bastante inteligente pero sanguinario, ya que en su camino va asesinando personas para que no frustren su escape. Al final Clarice consigue atrapar al asesino Bill pero sin saber donde está Hannibal, el cual sigue libre y es capaz de seguir cometiendo sus atrocidades. Realmente es increíble como mezclan a una persona tan atroz pero con una inteligencia y capacidad de manipulación increíbles, les recomiendo mucho esta película, demás de que Hannibal es interpretado por el increíble actor Anthony Hopkins.
I think this movie is wonderful, it has a psychological thriller and horror plot that keeps us in tension for a long time. The film focuses on finding the murderer Buffalo Bill, who seems to be the main villain but the truth is not the main focus, what we notice is how the agent Clarice Starling is in charge of the investigation, but for this she must talk to a cannibal and psychiatrist Hannibal Lecter, who is in seclusion for obvious reasons. It is interesting to see how intelligent this character is, as he tries to get into the mind of the protagonist who comes to tell him her deep traumas and the story of hearing cries of lambs and not being able to save them (which gives the name of the film), and these cries torment her. From one moment to another in a series of events that takes a long time to explain Hannibal escapes successfully, as he is a pretty smart but bloodthirsty man, since on his way he is murdering people so that they do not frustrate his escape. In the end Clarice manages to catch the murderer Bill but without knowing where Hannibal is, who is still free and is able to continue committing his atrocities. It is really incredible how they mix such an atrocious person but with an incredible intelligence and manipulation capacity, I highly recommend this movie, besides Hannibal is interpreted by the incredible actor Anthony Hopkins.
Joffrey Baratheon
(Game of Thrones)
Game of Thrones está lleno de villanos increíbles y no les mentiré, yo comencé a ver la serie poco antes de que saliera la última temporada, pero aún así me gustó a pesar de que pudo terminar mejor. Joffrey es el personaje más odiado por todos de la serie, y con razón, un rey autoritario que ejecuta a cualquiera que esté en contra de sus ideales, cuya madre de por sí es mala y que mandó a matar desde el principio a Ned Stark decapitándolo frente a muchas personas y exhibiendo su cabeza para darle terror a sus súbditos. Es increíble la falta de empatía que tiene este chico, el cual no teme que corra sangre con tal de cumplir sus deseos. Algo que hay que destacar es que se puede considerar como "un hijo bastardo" por ser fruto de un incesto entre Jaime y Cersei, pero igualmente presentado como hijo del que fue rey, Robert Bratheon. El perfil psicológico de este chico es muy curioso, ya que fue criado como un niño mimado el cual buscaba afecto constante de su padre, el cual no le tenía afecto cosa que puedo inferir que es producto de que no es su padre real (aunque el mismo Robert no lo sepa), y cuya racha sangrienta comenzó desde muy pequeño matando animalitos. Realmente su muerte me pareció muy satisfactoria, ya que era el fin del monstruo que estaba creciendo poco a poco y admítanlo, ustedes también estaban felices de que tuviese un final así. De verdad el actor Jack Gleeson se lució interpretándolo.
Game of Thrones is full of incredible villains and I won't lie to you, I started watching the series shortly before the last season came out, but I still liked it even though it could have ended better. Joffrey is the most hated character by everyone in the series, and rightly so, an authoritarian king who executes anyone who is against his ideals, whose mother is evil and who had Ned Stark killed from the beginning by beheading him in front of many people and displaying his head to terrorize his subjects. It is incredible the lack of empathy that this boy has, who is not afraid of bloodshed in order to fulfill his desires. Something to note is that he can be considered a "bastard son" for being the result of incest between Jaime and Cersei, but also presented as the son of the former king, Robert Bratheon. The psychological profile of this boy is very curious, since he was raised as a spoiled child who sought constant affection from his father, who had no affection for him, which I can infer is a product of the fact that he is not his real father (although Robert himself does not know it), and whose bloody streak began at a very young age killing small animals. I really found his death very satisfying, since it was the end of the monster that was growing little by little and admit it, you were also happy that he had an end like that. The actor Jack Gleeson really did a great job playing him.
Darth Vader
(Star Wars)
Star Wars es una de mis sagas de películas favoritas, me encanta y considero a Darth Vader como uno de los villanos más emblemáticos del cine. Es difícil que alguien no conozca a este personaje, lo conocen más que a Luke Skywalker o incluso los que no han visto alguna película de Star Wars reconoce a este villano. Darth Vader tiene una historia algo complicada, ya que detrás de él está Anakin Skywalker, que desde pequeño posee capacidades brillantes para inventar cosas como robots o naves. Llega a conocer a Padme, una chica de la que se enamora desde la primera vez que la ve y luego al crecer se casa con ella en secreto. Anakin comienza a ser manipulado por el Sith Palpatine, y poco a poco va entrando al lado oscuro de la fuerza. Descubre que Padme no le gusta en lo que se ha convertido Anakin y además piensa que junto con Obi Wan Kenobi lo quieren manipular, asfixia a Padme y lucha contra Obi Wan. Al final queda incinerado y vivo de milagro, Palpatine lo recata y le da un traje que tiene un respirador y con el que puede moverse. Luego de un tiempo conoce a su hijo Luke, intenta que este se mueva al lado oscuro pero no lo logra. Comienzan a pelear y Palpatine luego tortura a Luke con la intención de asesinarlo, cosa que Darth Vader no soporta y lanza a Palpatine al vacío. Darth Vader le piede a su hijo que le quite el casco que le da oxígeno para ver su cara por última vez para así, morir en paz. Anakin me parece un villano con una bonita redención impulsado por el amor a su hijo, convirtiéndose en uno con la fuerza al final de su vida.
Star Wars is one of my favorite movie sagas, I love it and I consider Darth Vader as one of the most emblematic villains of cinema. It is difficult for someone not to know this character, they know him more than Luke Skywalker or even those who have not seen any Star Wars movie recognize this villain. Darth Vader has a somewhat complicated history, since behind him is Anakin Skywalker, who since childhood has brilliant abilities to invent things like robots or ships. He gets to know Padme, a girl he falls in love with from the first time he sees her and then as he grows up he secretly marries her. Anakin begins to be manipulated by the Sith Palpatine, and gradually enters the dark side of the force. He discovers that Padme does not like what has become Anakin and also thinks that along with Obi Wan Kenobi want to manipulate him, suffocates Padme and fights against Obi Wan. In the end he is incinerated and alive by a miracle, Palpatine recreats him and gives him a suit that has a respirator and with which he can move. After a while he meets his son Luke, tries to move him to the dark side but fails. They begin to fight and Palpatine then tortures Luke with the intention of killing him, which Darth Vader can not stand and throws Palpatine into the void. Darth Vader begs his son to take off his oxygen helmet to see his face one last time so he can die in peace. Anakin strikes me as a villain with a beautiful redemption driven by love for his son, becoming one with the force at the end of his life.
Gustavo "Gus" Fring
(Breaking Bad)
En un post anterior nombré a Breaking Bad como una de mis series favoritas, ya que posee una trama que para mí es perfecta de principio a fin y se me hace difícil que una serie me llene tanto como esa. Obviamente tiene varios villanos increíbles pero para mí el que más destaca es Gus Fring, un señor que afuera parece un filántropo pero que en verdad es el líder del imperio de las drogas, también es dueño de la franquicia de restaurantes "Los Pollos Hermanos", los cuales sirven para camuflar su laboratorio de drogas, lavado de dinero y también envíos de estas sustancias. Es un señor bastante brillante que siempre está adelantado a los hechos, es capaz de mandar a matar a quién sea con tal de proteger su imperio. Llega a envenenar a todo un cartel, ordena asesinatos de manera discreta o directa a personas que saben demasiado, degollar a una persona frente a Walter para infligirle miedo, y muchas cosas más que si sigo nombrando no termino.
In a previous post I named Breaking Bad as one of my favorite series, as it has a plot that for me is perfect from beginning to end and I find it difficult for a series to fill me as much as that one. Obviously it has several incredible villains but for me the one that stands out the most is Gus Fring, a man who outwardly looks like a philanthropist but in truth is the leader of the drug empire, he also owns the restaurant franchise "Los Pollos Hermanos", which serve to camouflage his drug lab, money laundering and also shipments of these substances. He is a very brilliant man who is always ahead of the facts, he is capable of killing anyone in order to protect his empire. He even poisons an entire cartel, orders assassinations in a discreet or direct way to people who know too much, slitting a person's throat in front of Walter to inflict fear, and many other things that if I keep on naming I won't finish.
Obviamente los protagonistas aunque trabajen para Gus, saben que él en algún momentos los puede asesinar a ellos y a sus seres queridos por lo que deben tomar acciones, cosa que es difícil porque Gus siempre está listo para cualquier cosa, ya que como dije siempre está un paso adelante. Tuvo un final bastante increíble gracias al sacrificio de Hector, un anciano confidente del cartel de Juarez que odia mucho a Gus, que gracias al ictus termina inválido y solo se comunica por una campana en su silla de ruedas. Gus planea reunirse con Hector para matarlo porque cree que lo delató con la DEA, pero gracias a un plan de Walter implanta una bomba en la silla de Hector el cual mira a Gus con odio antes de que llegue su final. La bomba explota, Gus sale de la oficina con la mitad del cuerpo destrozado, y cae muerto. De verdad es un villano que puso entre las cuerdas a los protagonistas y les dio muchos obstáculos, fue un desafío bastante grande. Manipulador, frío y bastante inteligente, características que hacen de Gus un villano excepcional.
Obviously the main characters, even though they work for Gus, know that he can kill them and their loved ones at some point, so they must take action, which is difficult because Gus is always ready for anything, as I said, he is always one step ahead. It had a pretty incredible ending thanks to the sacrifice of Hector, an elderly confidant of the Juarez cartel who really hates Gus, who thanks to the stroke ends up invalid and only communicates by a bell in his wheelchair. Gus plans to meet with Hector to kill him because he believes he ratted him out to the DEA, but thanks to a plan of Walter's he implants a bomb in Hector's chair who looks at Gus with hatred before his end comes. The bomb explodes, Gus walks out of the office with half his body mangled, and drops dead. He really is a villain who put the protagonists between the ropes and gave them many obstacles, it was quite a challenge. Manipulative, cold and quite intelligent, characteristics that make Gus an exceptional villain.
Norman Bates
(Psicosis | Psycho)
Psicosis es un clásico del cine el cual tiene la famosa escena de la chica gritando en la ducha antes de ser asesinada con música tétrica de fondo. Para hablar de Norman hay que saber la historia completa, este chico parece normal, bastante introvertido y raro pero nada del otro mundo. Es dueño de un motel que no tiene mucho movimiento pero que aún sigue trabajando, ahí conoce a Marion, una chica bastante bonita de la cual genera interés. Marion escucha una discusión entre Norman y su mamá en la que dice que no le gusta esa chica, más tarde Marion y Norman hablan hasta que él le cuenta que su mamá no lo deja ser libre, además de maltratarlo y estar enferma. Más tarde Marion toma un baño y ve una silueta femenina con un cuchillo, resulta ser la mamá de Norman y asesina a Marion. Luego la misma mujer asesina al investigador de la desaparición de Marion. Al no tener noticias de Marion o el investigador. La hermana de la chica (Lila) descubre que la mamá de Norman murió hace años. Lila y el novio de Marion (Sam) deciden ir al motel por su cuenta, Norman al ver que espían a su mamá intenta hacer algo pero Lila descubre el cuerpo momificado de la mamá de Norman.
Psycho is a classic film which has the famous scene of the girl screaming in the shower before being killed with gloomy music in the background. To talk about Norman you have to know the whole story, this guy seems normal, quite introverted and weird but nothing out of this world. He owns a motel that does not have much movement but is still working, there he meets Marion, a pretty girl who generates interest. Marion overhears an argument between Norman and his mother in which he says he doesn't like that girl, later Marion and Norman talk until he tells her that his mother doesn't let him be free, besides mistreating him and being sick. Later Marion takes a bath and sees a female silhouette with a knife, it turns out to be Norman's mother and she murders Marion. Then the same woman murders the investigator of Marion's disappearance. Having no news from Marion or the investigator. The girl's sister (Lila) discovers that Norman's mom died years ago. Lila and Marion's boyfriend (Sam) decide to go to the motel on their own, Norman seeing his mom being spied on tries to do something but Lila discovers the mummified body of Norman's mom.
El protagonista aparece vestido de mujer con un cuchillo en su mano listo para asesinar a la joven, sin embargo Sam logra aparecer para salvarla. Descubrimos que el verdadero villano es Norman, que todas las escenas con su mamá eran producto de su imaginación, ya que él fue el que asesinó a su mamá y a su amante envenenándolo, pero por la culpa agarró el cuerpo e hizo como si siguiera viva, implantando la personalidad de su mamá en él mismo, y cada vez que Norman se sentía atraído a una mujer, "Madre" la asesinaba, descubriendo más asesinatos anteriores a los de Marion. Al final vemos como la personalidad de Norman es controlada por "Madre", la cual siente culpa por hacer que Norman sea condenado por sus crímenes pero que igualmente no quiere tomar la responsabilidad de sus acciones. De verdad me parece que Norman es un personaje psicológicamente complejo el cual nos engaña durante toda la película, haciéndonos creer que su mamá fue la que cometió los crímenes, cuando él mismo bajo su enfermedad los efectuó. Me parece extraordinario como plantearon a un personaje así, el cual nos hace sentir empatía al principio, incomodidad en el desarrollo y miedo al final.
The protagonist appears dressed as a woman with a knife in his hand ready to murder the young woman, but Sam manages to appear to save her. I really think that Norman is a psychologically complex character who deceives us throughout the film, making us believe that his mother was the one who committed the crimes, when he himself committed them under his illness. I think it's extraordinary the way they presented such a character, which makes us feel empathy at the beginning, discomfort in the development, and fear at the end.

Bastardos sin Gloria | Inglourious Basterds)
Es difícil escoger a un villano de alguna película que hable sobre el holocausto (y déjenme decirles que amo las pelis de esta temática), pero este coronel es uno de los villanos más sádicos en cuanto a cacería de judíos se trata ya que es capaz de capturar a judíos de escondites muy recónditos, además de ser bastante inteligente y ególatra.
It's hard to pick a villain from a holocaust movie (and let me tell you, I love holocaust movies), but this colonel is one of the most sadistic villains when it comes to hunting down Jews, as he is able to capture Jews from hidden hiding places, as well as being quite intelligent and egomaniacal.
Joker
(DC Universe)
Un villano que básicamente culpa a la sociedad por haberlo convertido en lo que es hoy. Una persona inteligente que sabe como poner a Batman y a Ciudad Gótica entre las cuerdas, un asesino despiadado que no teme dejar un camino de sangre con tal de cumplir sus objetivos, merece un puesto como uno de los mejores villanos de los cómics.
A villain who basically blames society for making him what he is today. A smart person who knows how to put Batman and Gotham City on the ropes, a ruthless killer who isn't afraid to leave a trail of blood in order to accomplish his goals, he deserves a spot as one of the best villains in comics.
Alex DeLarge
(La naranja mecánica | A Clockwork Orange)
Esta película es considerada de culto por lo magnífica que es, y totalmente merecido. El protagonista Alex es alguien que ama la violencia y agresión, no tiene miedo en cometer actos sumamente sádicos con tal de satisfacer sus gustos, un sociópata que tiene una personalidad carismática pero que no mide sus acciones. Un villano de primera línea.
This film is considered a cult film because of how magnificent it is, and deservedly so. The protagonist Alex is someone who loves violence and aggression, he is not afraid to commit extremely sadistic acts to satisfy his tastes, a sociopath who has a charismatic personality but does not measure his actions. A first line villain.
Wilson Fisk
(Daredevil)
Uno de los criminales más temidos. perteneciente al universo de Marvel. Un empresario líder de una organización criminal que no teme asesinar a quién obstaculice sus metas, no permite que manchen su imagen y no tolera traiciones. De verdad un villano que intimida con solo mirarlo.
One of the most feared criminals in the Marvel universe. A businessman leader of a criminal organization who is not afraid to kill anyone who hinders his goals, does not allow his image to be tarnished and does not tolerate betrayal. Truly a villain who intimidates just by looking at him.
Azula

Una chica que lo tiene todo, menos el amor de su madre. Azula es despiadada y es capaz de aniquilar a quien sea con tal de no permitir que su hermano Zuko capture al Avatar. Manipuladora, sádica e inteligente, son características que hacen que Azula sea una villana muy buena.
A girl who has everything, except her mother's love. Azula is ruthless and is capable of annihilating anyone to prevent her brother Zuko from capturing the Avatar. Manipulative, sadistic and intelligent are characteristics that make Azula a very good villain.
Espero que les haya gustado esta lista, considero que los antagonistas cumplen un rol fundamental en las historias, ya que aportan en el desarrollo de los personajes. Incluso también es interesante cuando los protagonistas llegan a ser el villano de la trama, ya que vemos su punto de vista del mundo que lo rodea y que lo llevó ser así.
