Hola de nuevo! Hoy les traigo un post súper chévere en el cual les hablaré sobre las 5 películas me más me han gustado. Hablar de las películas que más me han gustado es difícil porque hay muchísimas que me encantan y que podría ver mil veces sin cansarme. Las que nombraré hoy son conocidas y otras no tanto, pero comparten algo en común: una trama bastante particular, las cuales me atraparon por completo y que resumiré sin darles spoilers por si les interesa verlas. Comencemos!
Hello again! Today I come with a super cool post in which I'll talk about the 5 movies I've liked the most. Talking about the movies I've liked the most is difficult because there are so many that I love and that I could watch a thousand times without getting tired. The ones I will name today are well known and others not so much, but they share something in common: a very particular plot, which caught me completely and that I will summarize without giving you spoilers in case you are interested in watching them. Let's start!
El sustituto | Changeling
Esta película la vi hace un tiempo y la verdad me gustó, sin embargo la vi hace relativamente poco con otra perspectiva, cosa que agradezco porque de verdad es excelente. La historia sucede en 1928, contando la historia de Christine Collins (Angelina Jolie), que trabaja supervisando una central telefónica, mientras cuida de su amado hijo de 9 años llamado Walter Collins. Un día su hijo desaparece y denuncia el suceso a la policía, sin embargo, la policía no se toma muy en serio el caso y se lo dejan a un corrupto policía llamado J. J. Jones, el cual es el capitán del mismo. Tiempo después le entregan un niño, pero ella niega que él sea su hijo, pero el capitán de policía quiere evitar manchar su imagen, por lo que habla con la prensa y hace todo un show para hacer ver que hace todo bien. Esta película nos muestra la pelea de Christine por obtener justicia y por mostrar a la luz la corrupción de cuerpo policial, además de tener unas actuaciones maravillosas y una trama sumamente atrapante, que nos hace sentir una fuerte empatía por Christine desesperada por conseguir a su hijo o saber qué le sucedió.
I saw this movie a while ago and I really liked it, however I saw it relatively recently with a different perspective, which I am grateful for because it is really excellent. The story takes place in 1928, telling the story of Christine Collins (Angelina Jolie), who works supervising a telephone exchange, while taking care of her beloved 9 year old son named Walter Collins. One day her son disappears and she reports the incident to the police, however, the police do not take the case very seriously and leave it to a corrupt cop named J. J. Jones, who is the captain of the case. Some time later a child is delivered to her, but she denies that he is her son, but the police captain wants to avoid tarnishing his image, so he talks to the press and makes a whole show to make it look like he is doing everything right. This film shows us Christine's fight to get justice and to expose the corruption of the police force, besides having wonderful performances and an extremely gripping plot, which makes us feel a strong empathy for Christine desperate to get her son or to know what happened to him.
Taxi Driver
Capaz una de las más conocidas y considerada como una película de culto. La vi de casualidad un día que estaba pasando los canales de la televisión y sinceramente me atrapó de inmediato. Esta película trata sobre Travis Bickle (interpretado por el gran actor Robert de Niro), el cual es un taxista que anteriormente fue un marine que sufre insomnio severo gracias a su depresión luego de llegar de la guerra se pone a trabajar. En esta película comenzamos a ver como la vida de Travis cambia al conocer a Betsy (Cybill Shepherd), enamorándose de ella pero que sale mal luego de una situación algo bochornosa. Luego conoce a una adolescente que trabaja de prostituta que se llama (interpretada por la maravillosa Jodie Foster) que intenta escapar de su proxeneta, a partir de ahí comienza la verdadera aventura de Travis, que de verdad vale la pena ver porque aunque parezca descabellado, es sumamente atrayente y genial, con una banda sonora increíble y unas actuaciones memorables. Realmente es una película que vale mucho la pena.
Perhaps one of the best known and considered a cult film. I saw it by chance one day when I was flipping through the TV channels and honestly it grabbed me immediately. This movie is about Travis Bickle (played by the great actor Robert de Niro), which is a cab driver who was formerly a marine who suffers from severe insomnia thanks to his depression after arriving from the war and goes to work. In this film we begin to see how Travis' life changes when he meets Betsy (Cybill Shepherd), falling in love with her but it goes wrong after a somewhat embarrassing situation. Then he meets a teenage prostitute (played by the wonderful Jodie Foster) who tries to escape from her pimp, from there begins the real adventure of Travis, which is really worth seeing because although it seems far-fetched, it is extremely attractive and great, with an incredible soundtrack and memorable performances. It really is a film that is very worthwhile.
El club de la pelea | Fight Club
Creo que estoy rompiendo una de las reglas del club de la pelea al hablar de ello. El protagonista es el narrador interpretado por Edward Norton, y cabe destacar que jamás conocemos su nombre. Al igual que la anterior película, él sufre de insomnio y trabaja en una empresa automovilística. Luego de ir aun grupo de apoyo para gente que sufrió cáncer testicular convenciéndolos de que lo sufrió y como le afectó, sirvió de apoyo emocional curándole el insomnio. Luego conoce a una mujer llamada Marla Singer (Helena Bonham Carter), la cual busca el mismo apoyo para los problemas de su vida y eso le molesta. Bueno, en fin, luego de tanto rollo nuestro protagonista debe tomar un vuelo de regreso a casa luego de un trabajo, en ese momento conoce a Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), con el que tiene una convversación profunda. Luego de llegar a casa nuestro protagonista sufre un suceso que lo obliga a quedarse en casa de Tyler, la única condición es que el narrador golpee a Tyler y se caen a golpes, luego de ello Tyler lo invita a unirse al club de la pelea, donde siguen ocurriendo sucesos que sinceramente nos vuelan la cabeza cada vez que avanzamos en la trama. Tiene una historia sumamente buena que mezcla la filosofía con la psicología de manera excelente, personajes increíbles y giros de trama que nos dejan bastante sorprendidos, realmente es una película que recomiendo bastante y que puedo ver muchas veces sin cansarme.
I think I'm breaking one of the fight club rules by talking about it. The protagonist is the narrator played by Edward Norton, and it's worth noting that we never know his name. Like the previous film, he suffers from insomnia and works for an automobile company. After going to a support group for people who suffered from testicular cancer, convincing them that he had suffered from it and how it affected him, it served as emotional support, curing his insomnia. Well, anyway, after all that nonsense our protagonist must take a flight back home after a job, at that moment he meets Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), with whom he has a deep conversation. After arriving home our protagonist suffers an event that forces him to stay at Tyler's house, the only condition is that the narrator hits Tyler and they fall to blows, after that Tyler invites him to join the fight club, where events continue to occur that honestly blow our minds every time we advance in the plot. It has an extremely good story that mixes philosophy with psychology in an excellent way, incredible characters and plot twists that leave us quite surprised, it really is a movie that I highly recommend and that I can watch many times without getting tired.
Chicas Pesadas | Mean Girls
Capaz una de las películas más icónicas, marcó un antes y un después en las películas adolescentes que inclusos muchas que surgieron después de esta básicamente se inspiraron. Mean Girls sigue la historia de Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan), una chica de 16 años que se muda de África a Estados Unidos, que fue educada toda su vida por sus padres y debe ingresar a la escuela secundaria. El hecho de haber sido educada en casa hace que se le sea difícil socializar, sin embargo conoce a un par de chicos que no son populares, pero pasan desapercibidos, estos son Janis (Lizzy Caplan) una chica gótica que a pesar de ser imprudente, es buena, y Damien (Daniel Franzese), un chico experto en círculos sociales y que todos presumen que es gay. Ellos le explican a la protagonista como se dividen los grupos en la escuela, donde más se destacan "Las plásticas", que son las tres chicas más bellas y populares de la escuela, que son Gretchen Wieners (Lacey Chabert), Karen Smith (Amanda Seyfried) y la poderosísima Regina George (Rachel McAdams), la cual es mi personaje favorito.
Maybe one of the most iconic movies, it marked a before and after in teen movies that even many that came after it were basically inspired by it. Mean Girls follows the story of Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan), a 16-year-old girl who moves from Africa to the United States, who was educated all her life by her parents and must enter high school. The fact of having been educated at home makes it difficult for her to socialize, however she meets a couple of kids who are not popular, but go unnoticed, these are Janis (Lizzy Caplan) a goth girl who despite being reckless, is good, and Damien (Daniel Franzese), a boy expert in social circles and that everyone presumes he is gay. They explain to the protagonist how the groups are divided in the school, where "The Plastics" stand out, which are the three most beautiful and popular girls in the school, who are Gretchen Wieners (Lacey Chabert), Karen Smith (Amanda Seyfried) and the powerful Regina George (Rachel McAdams), which is my favorite character.
En el almuerzo Regina se percata de Cady y la llama para formar parte de su grupo, al ser una chica bastante bonita y además extranjera, cosa que a Janis le encanta ya que así puede infiltrarse en ese grupo para luego sacar información y burlarse. A Cady no le gusta la idea pero luego de un suceso con Regina, Cady acepta y comienzan su plan. Esta película puede ser un cliché en cuanto a películas adolescentes se refiere, pero considero que su desarrollo se enfoca de una manera realista, al reflejar lo hipócritas que pueden ser los jóvenes solo por tener la aprobación de los demás, además de darnos cuenta como en esa etapa somos tan inmaduros para no darnos cuenta del daño que le hacemos a los demás con nuestras acciones. Mezclar esa idea con muchísimos toques de comedia súper buenos y darnos momentos emblemáticos que marcan un hito en la cultura pop. Realmente es una película que independientemente de quién seas, deberías verla.
At lunch Regina notices Cady and calls her to be part of her group, being a pretty girl and also a foreigner, which Janis loves because she can infiltrate the group and then get information and make fun of her. Cady doesn't like the idea but after an event with Regina, Cady accepts and they start their plan. This movie may be a cliché as far as teen movies are concerned, but I consider that its development is approached in a realistic way, reflecting how hypocritical young people can be just to have the approval of others, besides realizing how at that stage we are so immature not to realize the damage we do to others with our actions. Mixing that idea with lots of great comedy touches and giving us emblematic moments that mark a milestone in pop culture. It really is a movie that regardless of who you are, you should see.

I hope you liked this little list, there are many movies that I would have liked to name like some animated movies and stuff like that, however I will leave them for another posts.
