Karate kid
Recién llegado a los suburbios de Los Ángeles, proveniente de Nueva Jersey, el joven estudiante Daniel Larusso no encuentra mucha comodidad ni mayor interés en esta nueva etapa de su vida, sintiéndose fuera de lugar. Su madre está contenta en el nuevo trabajo que la llevo a la ciudad, pero se muestra preocupada por la poca adaptación de su hijo. Pronto Daniel conoce a una chica, Ali, con la que entabla amistad y empieza a sentir mayor interés. Pero Ali es la pareja del chico rudo del colegio, Johny Lawrence, un motociclista rebelde y experto en artes marciales que, junto a su pandilla, acosan a Daniel hasta enfrentarlo físicamente. En Karate Kid, acorralado, Daniel recibe la inesperada ayuda del señor Miyagi, un anciano japonés que es el conserje del edificio donde vive. Sorprendido por las habilidades del anciano, Larusso se ofrece como su único estudiante, siendo rechazado. Es hasta que Daniel es retado a competir en un torneo de karate, ante el dojo de un instructor sádico, que el señor Miyagi decide aceptarlo como alumno y pasar su sabiduría.
Esta fue una de las películas que marco mi infancia, debido a que entreno Karate desde muy pequeño. Ver reflejado muchos valores básicos del Karate en esta película fueron para mi una realidad que a día de hoy la llevo constantemente en mi corazón. Me he visto esta película miles de veces, tanto que había un punto donde me sabia los diálogos de los personajes. Daniel-san y el maestro Miyagi fueron una gran parte de mi inspiración para proteger a los indefensos y pelear por lo que amo.
Newly arrived in the Los Angeles suburbs from New Jersey, young student Daniel Larusso finds little comfort or interest in this new stage of his life, feeling out of place. His mother is happy in the new job that brought her to the city, but is concerned about her son's poor adjustment. Soon Daniel meets a girl, Ali, with whom he strikes up a friendship and begins to feel more interested. But Ali is the partner of the school's tough guy, Johny Lawrence, a rebellious biker and martial arts expert who, along with his gang, harasses Daniel to the point of physical confrontation. In Karate Kid, cornered, Daniel receives unexpected help from Mr. Miyagi, an elderly Japanese man who is the janitor of the building where he lives. Surprised by the old man's skills, Larusso offers himself as his only student, only to be rejected. It is until Daniel is challenged to compete in a karate tournament, before the dojo of a sadistic instructor, that Mr. Miyagi decides to accept him as a student and pass on his wisdom.
This was one of the movies that marked my childhood, because I trained Karate since I was a child. Seeing many basic values of Karate reflected in this movie was for me a reality that to this day I carry constantly in my heart. I have seen this movie thousands of times, so much that there was a point where I knew the dialogues of the characters. Daniel-san and Master Miyagi were a big part of my inspiration to protect the defenseless and fight for what I love.
Tierra de Osos/ Brothers Bears
Un joven que busca vengar la muerte de su hermano se transforma en oso y hace amistad con un cachorro que acaba de perder a su madre. Esta película me encanta, lo tiene todo. Desde enseñanzas de vida. Hasta trasfondos y repercusiones del pasado hechas por los mismos protagonistas que luego saldrán a la luz. La vi cuando tenia 3 años y aun la recuerdo, Kenai me caía medio pesado, pero fue porque lo hicieron de esa manera, para poder dar un aura de hermano mayor. En cuanto a Koda, me sentía reflejado en el. Todos sus comportamientos de niño pequeño, bastante elocuente y caótico muchas veces, pero no dejando de ser el osezno sonriente que cada de lado a lado. Mas allá de los personajes se nos muestra el concepto de espiritualidad y tradición. En la película, cada uno de nosotros tiene algún espíritu animal dentro, nos guía y enseña en durante toda nuestra vida, pero si somos tercos y mal agradecidos los dioses podrían convertirnos en nuestro espíritu animal como castigo. Esto da a entender que debemos de aprender a vivir como lo haría dicho animal, para respetar, comprender, reflexionar y por sobre todo perdonar.
A young man seeking to avenge the death of his brother transforms into a bear and befriends a cub who has just lost his mother. I love this movie, it has it all. From life lessons. To backstories and repercussions from the past made by the main characters themselves that will later come to light. I saw it when I was 3 years old and I still remember it, Kenai was kind of a pain in the ass, but it was because they did it that way, to give him an aura of big brother. As for Koda, I felt mirrored in him. All his little boy behaviors, quite eloquent and chaotic many times, but still being the smiling bear cub that falls from side to side. Beyond the characters, we are shown the concept of spirituality and tradition. In the film, each one of us has an animal spirit inside, it guides us and teaches us throughout our lives, but if we are stubborn and ungrateful the gods could turn us into our animal spirit as a punishment. This implies that we must learn to live as the animal would, to respect, understand, reflect and above all forgive.
Kung Fu Panda
Creo que no hace falta explicar esta épica película. Es una obra casi de culto en DreamWorks. Y para mi una de las mejores que ha sacado dicha cadena de animación. La historia de basa en un pueblo ficticio en china, llamado El valle de la paz, el cual es protegido por los cinco discípulos de un maestro. Nuestro personaje principal es un panda torpe y con sobrepeso, quien quiere asistir al festival para otorgar el titulo de guerrero dragón. A partir de aquí este pobre panda es obligado por su padre a irse con un carrito de ventas de fideos, lo cual lo retrasa mas que ayudarlo. En un giro del destino,Po en su desesperación logra entrar con encima de una silla con fuegos artificiales (lo que siempre me he preguntado es lo siguiente: ¿de ronda Po saco unos fuegos artificiales con tanta pólvora?), pero termina cayendo en plena ceremonia y siendo escogido como herrero dragón, el resto es historia. Me encanta el concepto de que cada estilo de pelea lo represente el animal del cual salio, pues para nadie es un misterio que las artes marciales muchas veces fueron sacadas de la naturaleza. Po es un personaje perfecto para ser guerrero dragón desde mi punto de vista. Me enseño a aprovechar las oportunidades a pesar de todo, y que cualquier persona con un poco de entrenamiento y trabajo duro puede convertirse en un gran guerrero, no solo en el ámbito deportivo, si no también en la vida.
I think there is no need to explain this epic film. It is an almost cult work at DreamWorks. And for me one of the best that has been released by this animation chain. The story is based on a fictional village in China, called The Valley of Peace, which is protected by the five disciples of a master. Our main character is a clumsy and overweight panda, who wants to attend the festival to award the title of dragon warrior. From here this poor panda is forced by his father to go with a noodle selling cart, which slows him down rather than helps him. In a twist of fate, Po in his desperation manages to get on top of a chair with fireworks (what I've always wondered is this: where did Po get fireworks with so much gunpowder?), but ends up falling in the middle of the ceremony and being chosen as a dragon blacksmith, the rest is history. I love the concept of each fighting style being represented by the animal it came from, since it's no mystery to anyone that martial arts were often taken from nature. Po is a perfect character to be a dragon warrior from my point of view. He taught me to take advantage of opportunities despite everything, and that anyone with a little training and hard work can become a great warrior, not only in sports, but also in life.
