Desde hace ya muchos años creo que es obligatorio que deba ver un film animado, esto es gracias al gran número de películas estrenadas por Pixar, nos han relatado muy buenas historias que son enfocadas tanto para niños como adultos y creo que hasta teniendo una marca especial en su estilo de animación en dónde la mayoría de veces existiera una clara diferencia en el diseño de sus personajes, ahora esto no quiera decir que sea lo único que consuma de historias animadas estrenadas en el cine, siempre hay un film que no sea de este famoso estudio, película que puede ser tan especial que sin contar con una gran maquinaria de marketing detrás pueda conseguir ser notada por la crítica y el público en general.

For many years now I think it is mandatory that I must see an animated film, this is thanks to the large number of films released by Pixar, they have told us very good stories that are focused for both children and adults and I think even having a special mark in his style of animation where most of the time there was a clear difference in the design of their characters, now this does not mean that it is the only thing that I consume of animated stories released in movies, there is always a film that is not of this famous studio, film that can be so special that without having a great marketing machine behind it can get noticed by critics and the general public.
"Wolfwalkers" nos relata la historia de Robyn Goodfellowe y Mebh, dos niñas que a pesar de vivir en mundos diferentes, encontraran que tienen muchas similitudes y eso hará que formen una gran amistad que les hará explorar su niñez con muchas alegrías y libertades, pero también descubrirán que la vida no es perfecta, estás niñas experimentaran que así como existe lo bueno también existe lo malo y es en ese momento en donde pondrán a prueba todo lo que ellas han creado.
"Wolfwalkers" tells the story of Robyn Goodfellowe and Mebh, two girls who despite living in different worlds, will find that they have many similarities and that will make them form a great friendship that will make them explore their childhood with many joys and freedoms, but also discover that life is not perfect, these girls will experience that as well as there is good there is also bad and it is at that moment where they will test everything they have created.
Este film es dirigido por Tomm Moore y Ross Stewart, del primero podemos decir que ya es un director conocido, quien ha trabajado en dos films que ha sido aclamados por la crítica y han recibido nominaciones a los grandes premios del cine, del segundo podemos decir que ha trabajado anteriormente con Moore en sus antiguos proyectos, pero está es su primera vez como director. Estos artistas, directores, ilustradores y guionistas hicieron un excelente trabajo, a primer momento puedes percibir o sentir que estás leyendo un libro, sus dibujos son como si estuviera leyendo un cuento de aventuras y fantasía, eso es lo que cada diseño tanto del bosque como la ciudad lo hace especial, por ejemplo el bosque es libre, la fluidez de los animales que habitan ese bosque mágico, junto a los árboles, flores y ríos los puede definirlo como una forma libre, no existe rigidez todo es colorido y hermoso, la ciudad es todo lo contrario, es rígido, colores oscuros, todo con líneas muy marcadas, serio y triste, cada zona en donde transcurre está historia también influyen en sus personajes, todo esto son muy buenos detalles para demostrar la diferencia de cómo viven unos y otros.
Los personajes que protagonizan está historia son especiales, sus diseños corresponden al lugar donde viven, Robyn y su padre conformados por líneas rectas muy marcadas, ambos forman una linda y pequeña familia, esto hace que la hija sienta tanta admiración por el padre y quiera ser como él, por parte de Mebh, su diseño es todo lo contrario la de Robyn, no son líneas rectas sino redondas, con líneas marcadas pero existe mucho color, fuertes y brillantes, ella también ama a su Madre y la venera y cree que es invencible, la diferencia está que a pesar de su unión existe la libertad para que experimente lo hermoso y peligroso que puede ser el mundo; a ellos los acompaña un gran número de otros personajes con diferente importancia, pero que ayudan a contar la historia, están los habitantes del pueblo de "Kilkeny" ordinarios, con un color de piel pálido que buscan divertirse dentro de un pueblo encerrado por grandes muros, también está "Lord Protector Oliver Cromwell" el antagonista de esta historia quien también tiene un diseño grande, de líneas rectas y fuertes, todo va con su actitud arrogante y su visión llena de fanatismo religioso de cómo se debe controlar todo, para mí es un gran villano.
This film is directed by Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart, of the first we can say that he is already a well known director, who has worked in two films that have been critically acclaimed and have received nominations for major film awards, of the second we can say that he has worked previously with Moore in his former projects, but this is his first time as a director. These artists, directors, illustrators and screenwriters did an excellent job, at the first moment you can perceive or feel that you are reading a book, their drawings are as if you were reading a tale of adventure and fantasy, that's what each design of both the forest and the city makes it special, for example the forest is free, the fluidity of the animals that inhabit that magical forest, together with the trees, flowers and rivers can define it as a free form, there is no rigidity, everything is colorful and beautiful, the city is the opposite, it is rigid, dark colors, all with very marked lines, serious and sad, each area where this story takes place also influence their characters, all these are very good details to show the difference in how they live one and the other.
The characters that star in this story are special, their designs correspond to the place where they live, Robyn and her father conformed by very marked straight lines, both form a nice little family, this makes the daughter feel so much admiration for the father and wants to be like him, on the part of Mebh, her design is the opposite of Robyn's, they are not straight lines but round, with marked lines but there is a lot of color, strong and bright, she also loves her mother and venerates her and believes she is invincible, the difference is that despite their union there is freedom for her to experience how beautiful and dangerous the world can be; They are accompanied by a large number of other characters with different importance, but that help to tell the story, there are the inhabitants of the town of "Kilkeny" ordinary, with a pale skin color that seek to have fun within a town enclosed by large walls, there is also "Lord Protector Oliver Cromwell" the antagonist of this story who also has a large design, straight lines and strong, everything goes with his arrogant attitude and his vision full of religious fanaticism of how everything should be controlled, for me he is a great villain.
Toda esta historia creada por sus directores y el guion escrito por Will Collins, principalmente nos cuenta una historia es sobre la amistad de dos niñas que han vivido en mundos diferentes, pero que tienen mucho en común, vemos cómo son sus experiencias con nuevas cosas, libertades y fuerza, pero también nos muestra cómo debe vivir un niño lo cual es sin preocuparse por responsabilidades tales cómo es servir, cazar animales peligrosos o proteger el lugar dónde viven, nos muestra como el "crecimiento" de la población humana puede afectar la vida de otras especies y que con el hecho de creer que todo es mandato de un ser superior entonces es el deber ser llevar a cabo acciones sin importar absolutamente nada, pero lo especial es que trata el tema del amor de la familia, uno que debe entrar en la confianza de aceptar cambios que hagan mejor una familia; la historia y el guion es excelente porque vemos el crecimiento, los cambios o evolución de un personaje que no tiene la valentía para demostrar quién es ahora y aceptar una nueva forma de vida.

Wolfwalkers es un aire fresco a todo lo que estábamos viendo en el cine de animación, es una hermosa historia de aventura, amistad, peligros y magia, es un film especial, sus dibujos y diseño en 2D me hizo recordar a historias que veía de niño, a relatos leídos por mi madre, a los cuentos que trajo un día mi padre cuando era niño, es algo que me gustó mucho, esta era una historia que quería ver justamente por eso, es algo no nuevo, pero muy diferente a todo lo que se está haciendo y con esto no menosprecio lo hecho por otros estudios sino que pienso que historias así siempre deben ser bienvenidas, porque existe una variedad tanto en el diseño de la animación como el de contar una historia, espero que muy pronto tengan la oportunidad de verla y disfrutarla como yo lo he hecho.
Wolfwalkers is a fresh air to everything we were seeing in animated films, it is a beautiful story of adventure, friendship, dangers and magic, it is a special film, its drawings and 2D design reminded me of stories I saw as a child, stories read by my mother, stories that my father brought one day when I was a child, it is something that I liked a lot, this was a story that I wanted to see just for that reason, it is something not new, but very different from everything that is being done and with this I do not belittle what has been done by other studios but I think that stories like this should always be welcome, because there is a variety both in the design of the animation and the telling of a story, I hope that very soon you have the opportunity to see it and enjoy it as I have done.
