A pesar de hacer una promesa de no ver ninguna otra producción del MCU hasta estrenarse "Wakanda Forever", decidí ver el cuarto film protagonizado por el llamado Dios del Trueno, Thor; la versión cinematográfica de este héroe (del MCU) no ha sido la mejor y es que la "Fórmula Marvel" en mi opinión ha afectado el desarrollo de su historia privando en crear algo entre lo dramático, divertido y porque no, lo épico. La evolución de Thor dentro de este universo me impresionó por lo malo y justamente su tercera película me hizo plantearme el de no ver otra película más sobre los héroes de Marvel, pero aquí estoy viendo otra producción más dentro de la peor fase del MCU que ha dado malas películas y regulares series de TV.
Despite making a promise not to see any other MCU production until the premiere of "Wakanda Forever", I decided to see the fourth film starring the so-called God of Thunder, Thor; the film version of this hero (of the MCU) has not been the best and the "Marvel Formula" in my opinion has affected the development of his story depriving to create something between the dramatic, fun and why not, the epic. Thor's evolution within this universe impressed me for the bad and just his third movie made me consider not to see another movie about Marvel's heroes, but here I am watching another production within the worst phase of the MCU that has given bad movies and regular TV series.
El desarrollo de Thor en el MCU cómo personaje es lo más caótico que he visto, hasta cuatro directores y varios guionistas han buscado la mejor manera de crear una satisfactoria historia para este personaje, pero en lo que es su participación en este universo basada en personajes de comics en mi opinión es en las películas "Infinity War" "Endgame" en dónde mejor se ha visto, tango en dirección e historia como en interpretación; está es una opinión que siempre defenderé y que al final del cuarto film de The Avengers tenía expectativas sobre cómo sería su historia en la búsqueda de un nuevo motivo para seguir siendo un gran héroe; lamentablemente el éxito que tuvo su versión en "Ragnarok" influyó en el camino que debería transitar este personaje transformando este cuarto film en la secuela directa de la tercera película de la franquicia de Thor y eso disminuyo mis expectativas sobre "Love and Thunder" y por eso decidí esperar a su estreno en Disney Plus para verificar si era cierto o no las críticas negativas (tal vez mixtas) que obtuvo esta nueva película del Dios del Trueno que relata una nueva aventura que deberá enfrentar cuando una nueva amenaza aparece en el universo; "Gorr", el nuevo portador de "Necrosword" ha estado acabando con un gran número de Dioses trayendo el caos a todo lugar que los venera; esto atrae la atención de un mejorado y tranquilo Thor quien meditaba esperando al momento de ser llamado a batalla y cuando una antigua amiga es derrotada por Gorr, el Dios del Trueno junto a aliados importantes deberá ir a la búsqueda del llamado "The God Butcher" para poner fin a esta nueva ola de terror y traer paz en el universo.
The development of Thor in the MCU as a character is the most chaotic I've seen, up to four directors and several screenwriters have sought the best way to create a satisfactory story for this character, but in what is his participation in this universe based on comic book characters in my opinion is in the films "Infinity War" "Endgame" where he has been better, both in direction and story as in interpretation; This is an opinion that I will always defend and at the end of the fourth film of The Avengers I had expectations about how his story would be in the search for a new reason to continue being a great hero; unfortunately the success that his version had in "Ragnarok" influenced the path that this character should travel transforming this fourth film into the direct sequel of the third film of the Thor franchise and that lowered my expectations about "Love and Thunder " and that's why I decided to wait for its release on Disney Plus to verify if it was true or not the negative reviews (maybe mixed) that this new film of the God of Thunder obtained that tells a new adventure that he will have to face when a new threat appears in the universe; "Gorr", the new bearer of "Necrosword" has been killing a great number of Gods bringing chaos to every place that worships them; this attracts the attention of an improved and calm Thor who meditated waiting for the moment to be called to battle and when an old friend is defeated by Gorr, the God of Thunder along with important allies must go in search of "The God Butcher" to put an end to this new wave of terror and bring peace in the universe.
Este film es dirigido por Taika Waititi el cual creo que funciona mejor cuando está alejado de toda gran producción cinematográfica basada en personajes de comics; más que hablar en específico sobre su trabajo en la dirección, pienso que es obligatorio referirme más que nada al guion que co-escribió con Jennifer Kaytin Robinson quien desde el 2019 hasta la fecha cuenta con 4 films a los que ha participado cómo guionista. Está película me costó al principio tomarla en serio y esto es debido al comienzo caótico en dónde en vez de ser un film perteneciente al MCU, parecía más que nada una parodia a los muchos films basados en personajes de Marvel Comics; al ver todas esas secuencias del comienzo enfocado en el protagonista principal pensé que estaba viendo una película de acción de los 80' y comienzo de los 90' porque todo era completamente exagerado y sin nada de gracia; en mi opinión todo chiste forzado, los muy malos diálogos y la sobreactuación de Chris Hemsworth, transforman la primera hora del film en lo peor del MCU; todo lo contrario de la segunda hora que no es la mejor, pero regresa a esta historia al carril de toda producción del MCU y la convierte en aceptable, en lo normal y hasta hace que la haya disfrutado, algo que normalmente no ocurre en toda película o serie dentro de la conocida como 4.ª Fase.
This film is directed by Taika Waititi who I think works best when he is away from any big film production based on comic book characters; rather than talking specifically about his work in the direction, I think it is mandatory to refer mostly to the script that he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson who since 2019 to date has 4 films that he has participated as a screenwriter. This movie was hard for me at first to take it seriously and this is due to the chaotic beginning where instead of being a film belonging to the MCU, it seemed more than anything a parody of the many films based on Marvel Comics characters; seeing all those sequences of the beginning focused on the main protagonist I thought I was watching an action movie of the 80's and early 90's because everything was completely exaggerated and without anything funny; in my opinion all forced jokes, the very bad dialogues and the overacting of Chris Hemsworth, transform the first hour of the film in the worst of the MCU; all the opposite of the second hour that is not the best, but returns this story to the lane of all MCU production and makes it acceptable, in the normal and even makes me enjoyed it, something that normally does not happen in every movie or series within the known as 4th. Phase.
Las actuaciones de algunos de sus protagonistas no son para nada destacable; al ver el film tuve la sensación de que nada parecía tener el peso de la exigencia de personajes cómo Valkyrie, Jane Foster y Thor; este último es la peor actuación de todas; Chris Hemsworth no es un buen actor y la decisión de trabajar en comedias lo ha convertido en lo peor que puede ser; para mí ha entrado a esa lista en dónde los actores interpretan al mismo personaje una y otra vez, tal como lo hacen Vin Diesel y Dwayne Johnson; su sobreactuación sumando al mal guion afectan la primera hora del film en dónde tiene un mayor protagonismo la cual puede sentirse un film normal del MCU cuando aparecen en escena Natalie Portman y Christian Bale quienes para mí son los importantes protagonistas y a la vez héroes que "salvan" a este film; ambos actores tiene interpretación diferente, pero sus motivos en esta historia están unidos y ellos lo interpretan muy bien; Portman reivindica a "Jane Foster" en el MCU, es mi personaje favorito en este film y su historia es muy buena; me gusta que tenga importancia y no verse afectada por completo por lo horrible de la primera mitad de esta película de igual manera ocurre con "Gorr" que es un buen villano con una interpretación aterradora por parte de Bale; pude leer opiniones que habla de que este gran actor fue desaprovechado, pero no lo creo, ya que la segunda hora es buena gracias a su actuación.
The performances of some of its main characters are not outstanding at all; when watching the film I had the feeling that nothing seemed to have the weight of the demand of characters like Valkyrie, Jane Foster and Thor; the latter is the worst performance of all; Chris Hemsworth is not a good actor and the decision to work in comedies has turned him into the worst he can be; for me he has entered that list where actors play the same character over and over again, as do Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson; his overacting added to the bad script affect the first hour of the film where he has a major role which can feel like a normal MCU film when Natalie Portman and Christian Bale appear on the scene who for me are the important protagonists and at the same time heroes that "save" this film; both actors have different interpretation, but their motives in this story are united and they play it very well; Portman vindicates "Jane Foster" in the MCU, she is my favorite character in this film and her story is very good; I like that she has importance and not being affected completely by the horrible first half of this film in the same way happens with "Gorr" who is a good villain with a terrifying performance by Bale; I could read opinions that talks about that this great actor was wasted, but I don't think so, since the second hour is good thanks to his performance.
Mis expectativas sobre Love and Thunder pasó en ver una historia de redención de Thor a verificar si está era otra mala película sobre este personaje; por una hora no podía creer que estaba viendo nuevamente una historia de Thor en dónde siga demostrando que es un personaje egoísta con todo para ser un líder, pero sin ninguna señal para lograrlo; está la cuarta película en solitario de este personaje, octava participación en el MCU y todavía no puede ser un personaje maduro con convicción para ayudar y ser un completo héroe y no digo que debe ser perfecto, pero no puede seguir siendo el mismo personaje que se vio en el primer film y me parece que en esta película se perdió una gran oportunidad de desarrollar otra faceta de Thor y no seguir mostrando lo mismo; ahora no todo fue malo, ya que la inclusión de Jane Foster y "The Mighty Thor" fue la mejor decisión que tomaron; su desarrollo es lo que más me ha gustado, la historia de este personaje es fundamental para que este film no sea un completo fiasco y pienso que justamente eso obligó a que Waititi dejara de un lado toda su comedia exagerada y se enfocará en hacer una película dentro de la fórmula del MCU. Me gustaría clasificar a esta película como regular, pero en realidad no porque es un mal film; esto lo digo de esta manera porque cuando añoras ver lo mismo de siempre en el MCU es porque lo que quiso hacer Taika Waititi no resultó, no sirve porque no evolucionó sino que lo hizo peor y por las críticas negativas que obtuvo decidió no participar más en esta franquicia; sin duda pienso que es lo mejor para este director y para esta franquicia que es dura de terminar porque posiblemente habrá otra película más.
My expectations about Love and Thunder went from seeing a story of Thor's redemption to verify if this was another bad movie about this character; for an hour I couldn't believe I was watching again a Thor story where he keeps showing that he is a selfish character with everything to be a leader, but without any sign to achieve it; this is the fourth solo movie of this character, eighth participation in the MCU and he still can't be a mature character with conviction to help and be a complete hero and I'm not saying he must be perfect, but he can't continue being the same character we saw in the first film and it seems to me that this movie missed a great opportunity to develop another facet of Thor and not continue showing the same; now it wasn't all bad, since the inclusion of Jane Foster and "The Mighty Thor" was the best decision they made; her development is what I liked the most, the story of this character is fundamental for this film not to be a complete fiasco and I think that's exactly what forced Waititi to leave aside all his exaggerated comedy and focus on making a film within the MCU formula. I would like to classify this movie as regular, but actually not because it is a bad film; I say this in this way because when you long to see the same as always in the MCU is because what he wanted to do Taika Waititi did not work, it does not work because it did not evolve but made it worse and because of the negative reviews he got he decided not to participate more in this franchise; I certainly think it is the best for this director and for this franchise that is hard to finish because possibly there will be another movie more.
