The Story of Park's Marriage Contract - Series Review

I just finished seeing this short series and I couldn't get enough of it. It's a perfect rom-com kdrama to binge watch and what makes it even much better is the mix they gave viewers to be more excited about. I got the recommendation from all the hype and reviews about it on the movie site I use, I must say, the series was worth the hype or even more.

I wish I could see this series over and over again, I think I will eventually but I'll have to see some others on my watchlist before I do that. In essence, I'm saying this series isn't one you'll get tired of seeing.

"The Story of Park's Marriage Contract" is a 12 episode series with the genre of romance, comedy, historical and fantasy. Too long and too short for the excitement it holds in it's scenes, if I'm being honest. The mix of historical and present-day Seoul is my highlight from this series, I had really expectations when I read that part in the storyline.

Reminds me so much of "Legend of the blue sea", if you've seen it and enjoyed it, you'll definitely love this one, maybe even more. The storyline goes like this...

In a very old century (in history), a lady named Park Yeon Woo lost her husband after he revealed that he had suffered from a heart condition for a long time. Before she could mourn her husband, she was kidnapped and thrown into a well. The well turned out to transcend her through time, space, and death. Park found herself in the present-day Seoul, South Korea. It turns out the man who saved her is Kang Tae Ha, a spitting image of her husband in Jeoseon.

Kang Tae Ha is the successor of a Corporation who doesn't like opening himself up to others due to his heart disease and the trauma. He has never been in a relationship before but had to comply when his ill grandfather tells him that he wishes to see him get married before he dies. In order to do that, Kang Tae Ha asks Park Yeon Woo to enter into a contract marriage with him.

Asking a lady from Joseon who has never lived in Seoul before to marry him is outrageous but that makes the scene really exciting, as watch to see how things unfold for the two in their contract marriage.

The storyline got fuller, more interesting and funny because of Park's maid, Sa Wol. I love the chemistry the lady and her maid showed in this series, the show they put on to make an appearance is my favourite. It happened that the maid followed her lady to the new Joseon (Seoul) and found a better life there, her happy ending came rather very early than the female lead.

If I were to rate just her acting in this series, it's a 10/10 for me and I like that the writer had the spotlight on her a good number of times.

Another supporting character who made our male lead shone in the series is Kang Tae Min, his younger step brother and Hong Sung Pyo, his secretary who is also a good fighter. While his step brother helped our male lead realize his love for Park, he also showed genuine love for Park and her dream to be a fashion designer. Hong Sung Pyo also gave us a good number of shows to crack me up and I definitely love his wingman scenes.

You'll love the series for many reasons, I couldn't find anything to be negative about on this review. From the leads acting to supporting characters, the appearances in old and new Joseon, the well organized scenes to tell the storyline, and most importantly, the happy ending it gave... It's a full package for me.

I'll recommend you see it soon and let me know what you think about it. Rating? It's a 9/10 from me. But maybe it's just me loving all the simple things about it, come share yours hehe.
