I got the chance to see the first season of "The Uncanny Counter" with some friends of mine and they all decided to continue to the end even when we went our separate ways. That was how one called to recommend a korean series that is like "The Uncanny Counter" but might be more interesting than it.

I had it downloaded and from the very first episode, I could tell I was in for some thrills that would have me on the edge of my seat. The Uncanny Counter is an interesting one but this series is another one to add to your list, both have the kind of storyline to keep you watching.

If you've seen "The Uncanny Counter", you'd understand what I meant when I added "Breaking rules" to my review title. This series is with another storyline that kept breaking the rules until the last episode with a lot of twists and suspense that I almost complained about but still enjoyed.

"Black" is a 18 episodes long Korean series released in the year 2017.

"Black" is about a young detective who is killed but was possessed by a Grim Reaper, an angry and strict one who is out to find his partner but needed a human body. He is trapped in the detective body and had to learn what he thought had knew for the years he had been on earth as a Grim reaper.

In "Black", is also a girl who sees Death. That is, she sees when a Grim reaper is standing close to a human and when she touches it, she could tell how the human will die and sometimes, the time of death.

The two characters gets together to work on different cases, the girl wants to save lives and the Grim reaper who is against savings lives is made to break a few rules until he broke the main rule.

The different missions they embarked on especially in the aspect of disclosing a case that happened decades ago when the Grim reaper was still a human. I must say, the truth at the end was very much unpredictable that I couldn't even believe what they concluded as the end of all their detective work.

It's sad that there was no much romance in this series but I only realize it lacked it after the end of the series. But I like the little touches they did with it in the storyline, a grim reaper in love with a girl who sees death and tries to save people from dying... How more thrilling it would have been!

I love the roles of the characters and how well they played their part, but my favourite would be the lead actor himself. He reminds me so much of a favourite actor of mine but he has his own style, I noticed and loved it.

If you enjoy suspenseful storyline with no romance but more detective scenes, you'll love this series and I'm highly recommending it to those who have seen "The Uncanny Counter or A Korean Odyssey" and enjoyed them. I'll give this series a 8/10.
