Desde hace semanas me he querido unir a los Concursos de Impulso Comunitario realizados por @ocd, pero hay tantas iniciativas y concursos en la plataforma a los que quiero unirme cada semana que siento que el tiempo realmente no me rinde. Esta semana fue distinto, porque apenas vi que el concurso estaba enfocado hacia la comunidad Movies & TV Shows, me dije de inmediato: “¡tengo que participar a juro!”. Sabía que esta publicación me tomaría un poco más de tiempo elaborarla porque la pregunta que decidí responder me inspira bastante y realmente quería hacer de esta una publicación muy agradable, así que apenas vi el anuncio del concurso me puse manos a la obra.
For weeks now I've been wanting to join the Community Impulse Contests held by @ocd, but there are so many initiatives and contests on the platform that I want to join every week that I feel like time really doesn't give up on me. This week was different, because as soon as I saw that the contest was focused towards the Movies & TV Shows community, I immediately said to myself, "I have to participate I swear!". Desde siempre me ha encantado disfrutar de una buena película o serie, aunque actualmente estoy un poco más enganchada con estas últimas y si de verdad la trama me envuelve demasiado puedo terminar de ver la serie completa en tiempo récord (yo me autodenomino: devoradora de series). Lo cierto es que si una película o una serie me ha sabido conquistar completamente, demoraré un largo tiempo en poder superarla por lo que me tendrás hablando durante días sobre la trama, los personajes o cualquier otro aspecto que me haya dejado impactada. Pero, en particular, yo tengo un género de series y películas favorito y sobre este tema es que estará basada mi participación.
Bien, siento que esta introducción ya ha sido un poco extensa…así que, ¡comencemos!
I've always loved to enjoy a good movie or series, although nowadays I'm a little more hooked on the latter and if the plot really involves me too much I can finish watching the whole series in record time (I call myself: series devourer). The truth is that if a movie or a series has managed to conquer me completely, it will take me a long time to get over it, so you will have me talking for days about the plot, the characters or any other aspect that has left an impact on me. But, in particular, I have a favorite genre of series and movies and this is what my participation will be based on.
Well, I feel that this introduction has already been a bit long...so, Let's begin!
Este es un género más que todo especulativo y cuya verosimilidad está sustentada en conocimientos científicos y logros o avances tecnológicos de la humanidad, así como también la consecuencia que ellos podrían traer consigo. La característica principal de este género son sus temáticas, las cuales pueden llegar a tratar asuntos como: viajes en el tiempo, conquistas y viajes espaciales, existencia de civilizaciones alienígenas, utopías, inteligencia artificial, universos paralelos…en fin, la lista de temas es bastante extensa. Lo cierto es que algunos de estos escenarios planteados en las películas o series de ciencia ficción son bastante parecidos a nuestro mundo real, pero la única diferencia es que poseen tecnologías irreales que quizás sí pudiesen llegar a existir en un futuro próximo (como ciborgs o clones).
Las cosas que suceden en el mundo de la Ciencia Ficción están sujetas a las reglas de nuestro mundo real y no se resuelven por arte de magia gracias a una bruja, hechicero o a personas con habilidades sobrehumanas, sino por leyes científicas lógicas conocidas hasta el momento… pues bien lo dijo el escritor Ray Bradbury: “La ciencia ficción no es el arte de lo imposible, sino de lo posible”.
This is a genre that is mostly speculative and whose verisimilitude is based on scientific knowledge and technological achievements or advances of mankind, as well as the consequences that they could bring with them. The main characteristic of this genre is its themes, which can deal with issues such as: time travel, conquests and space travel, existence of alien civilizations, utopias, artificial intelligence, parallel universes...in short, the list of topics is quite extensive. The truth is that some of these scenarios presented in science fiction movies or series are quite similar to our real world, but the only difference is that they have unreal technologies that could perhaps come to exist in the near future (such as cyborgs or clones).
The things that happen in the world of Science Fiction are subject to the rules of our real world and are not solved by magic thanks to a witch, sorcerer or people with superhuman abilities, but by logical scientific laws known so far... as the writer Ray Bradbury said: "Science fiction is not the art of the impossible, but of the possible".
Desde siempre me ha llamado la atención y me han parecido súper interesantes los temas relacionados con vidas en otros planetas, viajes en el tiempo, dimensiones paralelas, agujeros negros, la relación del hombre con la tecnología y las máquinas e incluso siempre fantaseo sobre cómo podría llegar a ser el futuro o qué tanto podría evolucionar la tecnología y hasta qué punto esto podría perjudicarnos. Este género logra que mi imaginación y creatividad con respecto a todos estos temas se estimulen muchísimo más, pues hace que me cuestione si en un futuro algunas cosas puedan llegar a convertirse en realidad (como lo ciborgs, por ejemplo), hace que me plantee si algunas cosas son realmente creíbles (como la existencia de la vida alienígena) e incluso me hace fantasear con aquellas cosas que ya la ciencia ha catalogado como que son imposibles que sucedan (ejemplo: los viajes en el tiempo).
Admiro enormemente a aquellos que se dedican a escribir Ciencia Ficción, pues de cierta manera han logrado anticiparse al futuro y han creado una visión de lo que pudiese llegar a ocurrir, y con esto no me refiero a que los escritores de este género sean unos adivinos como Nostradamus, pues no están revelando lo que ocurrirá en el futuro del mundo más bien están ayudando a idearlo, a construirlo gracias a esa maravillosa y brillante capacidad que tienen para desafiar los límites de lo posible dentro de la lógica de la ciencia.
I've always been interested in topics related to life on other planets, time travel, parallel dimensions, black holes, man's relationship with technology and machines, and I always fantasize about what the future could be like or how technology could evolve and to what extent this could harm us. This genre stimulates my imagination and creativity regarding all these topics, because it makes me question if in the future some things could become real (like cyborgs, for example), it makes me wonder if some things are really credible (like the existence of alien life) and even makes me fantasize about those things that science has already catalogued as impossible to happen (for example: time travel).
I greatly admire those who dedicate themselves to writing Science Fiction, because in a way they have managed to anticipate the future and have created a vision of what could happen, and by this I do not mean that the writers of this genre are soothsayers like Nostradamus, because they are not revealing what will happen in the future of the world but they are helping to devise it, to build it thanks to that wonderful and brilliant ability they have to challenge the limits of what is possible within the logic of science.
Una razón más por la que este género es mi favorito es que, como ya mencioné anteriormente, plantea ciertos conceptos, leyes, modelos teóricos y tecnologías que a un cierto nivel científico sí son probables que ocurran bajo condiciones determinadas y, aunque no lo crean, esto ha tenido una repercusión importante para aquellas personas que se dedican al estudio de las ciencias y al desarrollo de nuevas tecnologías.
Son muchas las series y películas de Ciencia Ficción que me han gustado hasta el punto de dejar una profunda huella en mí. Así que a continuación les comparto dos películas de Ciencia Ficción que me han dejado completamente enamorada y maravillada por diversos motivos.
One more reason why this genre is my favorite is that, as I mentioned before, it raises certain concepts, laws, theoretical models and technologies that at a certain scientific level are likely to occur under certain conditions and, believe it or not, this has had an important impact for those who are dedicated to the study of science and the development of new technologies.
There are many Science Fiction series and movies that I have liked to the point of leaving a deep impression on me. So here I share with you two Science Fiction movies that have left me completely in love and amazed for various reasons.
TRILOGÍA VOLVER AL FUTURO
BACK TO THE FUTURE TRILOGY
En una publicación anterior ya he hablado sobre esta película, pero creo que vale la pena hacerlo nuevamente. A pesar de que este año se cumplen nada y más y nada menos que 36 años desde el estreno de la Parte I de esta trilogía, estas son de este tipo de esas películas que no envejecen con el tiempo pues su recuerdo permanece siempre intacto y suele cautivar tanto a niños como a adultos. Esta película para mi es una joya y representa un clásico del género de Ciencia Ficción, pues a pesar de que el punto central de la trama, el viaje en el tiempo, ya se había tocado antes en el mundo cinematográfico, esta película marcó un antes y un después.
Bob Gale (productor) y Robert Zemeckis (director) tomaron un tema que ya comenzaba a ser trillado y lo transformaron en oro puro, una idea extremadamente original que combina el viaje en el tiempo con comedia y, en algunas ocasiones, con un poco de drama. No son películas independientes pues cada una comienza en donde culmina la anterior, por lo que las tres películas se entrelazan a la perfección a nivel argumental y cada cabo suelto acaba siendo atado de una manera asombrosa.
In a previous post I've already talked about this movie, but I think it's worth doing it again. Despite the fact that this year marks nothing more and nothing less than 36 years since the release of Part I of this trilogy, these are the kind of movies that do not age with time because their memory always remains intact and usually captivates both children and adults. For me this film is a jewel and represents a classic of the Science Fiction genre, because although the central point of the plot, time travel, had already been played before in the film world, this film marked a before and after.
Bob Gale (producer) and Robert Zemeckis (director) took an already hackneyed theme and turned it into pure gold, an extremely original idea that combines time travel with comedy and, on occasion, a bit of drama. They are not independent films as each one begins where the previous one ends, so the three films intertwine perfectly on a plot level and every loose end ends up being tied up in an amazing way.
En Volver al Futuro fantaseamos con la idea de viajar en el tiempo a bordo de un automóvil DeLorean modificado para funcionar como máquina del tiempo, así como también experimentamos desde una perspectiva bastante humorística las consecuencias que deben afrontar los personajes principales debido a las acciones que realizaron sin querer con su viaje en el tiempo y que modificaron drásticamente el presente en el cual vivían, creándose una línea de tiempo alternativa, por lo que deberán ingeniárselas para que todo vuelva a la normalidad.
La Parte II de la trilogía, sin duda, es mi favorita. Aquí nuestro protagonista viaja al futuro, desde 1985 hasta el 2015 y es interesante ver cómo es que el Director y el Productor de la película se imaginan el futuro: niños con monopatines voladores, zapatillas Nike Air Mag que se ajustaban por sí solas sin necesidad de que tú las amarraras, videollamadas, autos voladores, basura y otros materiales orgánicos como combustible, reconocimiento mediante huella dactilar.
In Back to the Future we fantasize about the idea of time travel aboard a DeLorean car modified to work as a time machine, as well as experience from a humorous perspective the consequences that the main characters must face due to the actions they unintentionally performed with their time travel and that drastically changed the present in which they lived, creating an alternative timeline, so they must figure out how to get everything back to normal.
Part II of the trilogy, without a doubt, is my favorite. Here our protagonist travels to the future, from 1985 to 2015 and it is interesting to see how the Director and Producer of the movie imagine the future: kids with flying skateboards, Nike Air Mag sneakers that adjusted by themselves without the need for you to tie them, video calls, flying cars, garbage and other organic materials as fuel, fingerprint recognition.

Christopher Nolan supo realmente cómo construir esta película simplemente para que tu cerebro explotara mientras tratabas de procesar toda la avalancha de información que se te proporciona durante las casi tres horas de este largometraje. El punto de partida de esta cinta es que: el planeta Tierra comienza a ser un lugar inevitable, está sobrepoblado y una plaga comienza a destruir las cosechas causando inconvenientes en la agricultura y creando tormentas de arena. La vida en la Tierra está dejando de ser segura, por lo que un grupo de científicos deciden embarcarse en un viaje a través del espacio para encontrar un planeta que reúna las condiciones necesarias y que sirva como reemplazo de la Tierra para que los humanos puedan comenzar una nueva vida ahí.
Hay muchos aspectos importantes que debo mencionar sobre esta película. El primero de ellos es que Interestelar no se trata de una película de Ciencia Ficción Espacial como Star Wars o Guardianes la Galaxia…no, aquí no hay no hay naves espaciales que viajan a la velocidad de la luz, no hay rayos láser, no hay extraterrestre…nada de eso, más bien se trata de una película de Ciencia Ficción mucho más realista donde se nos cuenta una historia científicamente posible, pero esto no quiere decir que la historia no tenga algo de ficción.
Christopher Nolan really knew how to construct this film simply to make your brain explode as you try to process all the avalanche of information that is provided to you during the nearly three hours of this feature film. The starting point of this film is that: planet Earth is starting to become an inevitable place, it is overpopulated and a plague is starting to destroy crops causing inconveniences in agriculture and creating sandstorms. There are many important aspects I should mention about this movie. The first one is that Interstellar is not a Space Science Fiction movie like Star Wars or Guardians of the Galaxy...no, there are no spaceships traveling at the speed of light, no laser beams, no aliens...nothing like that, it is a much more realistic Science Fiction movie where we are told a scientifically possible story, but this does not mean that the story does not have some fiction in it.
Realmente, lo que Cristopher Nolan hizo fue tomar las teorías de la física relacionadas con el espacio-tiempo como base para construir una historia increíble y cada vez que se topó con información de la cual no existe una evidencia experimental que la certifique como verdadera, él simplemente usó el arma de la especulación para crear ciencia ficción de la buena.

Y aquí es donde está el dato interesante: para lograr que todo tuviera sentido dentro del guión, Nolan contó con el asesoramiento del astrofísico Kip Thorne. Además, algo que me pareció increíblemente interesante es que el agujero de gusano por el cual viajan nuestros protagonistas en la película está basado en cálculos matemáticos REALES elaborados por el astrofísico (sin embargo los agujeros de gusano son algo hipotético pues no hay evidencia experimental que certifique la existencia de este fenómeno)…ósea, ¡¿QUÉ?! Aquí es donde nos damos cuenta de que esta no se trata de una simple película con un simple guión, la verdad es que nos encontramos ante una película perfectamente ensamblada desde un punto de vista técnico para la cual se necesitó incluso del apoyo de expertos científicos quienes trabajaron en simulaciones y cálculos, que sirvieron no sólo para crear la película sino también para realizar publicaciones científicas en revistas de Astrofísica. Cuando me enteré de esto último, mi cerebro simplemente terminó de explotar.

Here is where we realize that this is not a simple movie with a simple script, the truth is that we are facing a perfectly assembled movie from a technical point of view for which it was even necessary the support of scientific experts who worked on simulations and calculations, which served not only to create the film but also to make scientific publications in Astrophysics journals. When I heard about the latter, my brain simply exploded.

Esta es otra gran película dirigida y producida por Christopher Nolan y donde, nuevamente, este señor logra que nuestra mente explote con el concepto de esta cinta...y ¿cómo no lo va a lograr si pasó 8 años escribiendo el guión de esta película?, con razón esta película es tan maravillosa. Recuerdo que tuve que ver unas tres veces la película para poder comprender cada detalle que se mostraba, pues realmente la trama es bastante complicada y el final es bastante abierto, por lo que está sujeto a distintas interpretaciones. De hecho, en Internet se pueden encontrar muchas teorías y análisis con respecto a esta película.
En esta cinta, Nolan nos introduce en el mundo de los sueños, del subconsciente. Los personajes de la película tienen el poder de construir o diseñar ellos mismos los sueños, además de que logran implantar una idea en la mente de otras personas mediante sus sueños para hacerlos pensar como si realmente esa idea implantada fuese propia de ellos. En la película también se hace referencia a la diferencia de tiempo que existe entre nuestra realidad y los sueños, cómo es que el tiempo en los sueños parece ir más lento que en la realidad. Esta película es una obra maestra en todos los sentidos, y los efectos especiales empleados complementan a la perfección ese mundo onírico en la que se encuentran los personajes.

In this film, Nolan introduces us to the world of dreams, of the subconscious. The characters in the film have the power to build or design dreams themselves, and they also manage to implant an idea in other people's minds through their dreams to make them think as if the implanted idea was really their own. The film also refers to the difference in time that exists between our reality and dreams, how it is that time in dreams seems to go slower than in reality. This film is a masterpiece in every way, and the special effects used perfectly complement the dream world in which the characters find themselves.
Es interesante como la película está estructurada siguiendo el esquema de un sueño, dentro de un sueño, dentro de otro sueño…es algo tan parecido a una muñeca rusa. Y es gracias a ese esquema de la película en que llegas a un punto en donde se te hace complicado diferenciar un sueño de lo que es real, por eso es que digo que la película es tan compleja. Realmente para mí, Incepcion es una de las mejores películas de Ciencia Ficción que existen y es por eso que aún sigo un poco indignada con el hecho de que no haya ganado el Óscar a mejor película…demasiado lamentable eso, pero no es de extrañar pues en los Premios Óscar a la películas de Ciencia Ficción no suelen irle demasiado bien cuando se trata del premio a la Mejor Película.
