La serie es protagonizada por la hermosa modelo, actriz y cantante IU (conocida por kdramas como "Mi señor" y "Amantes de la Luna"), y por el guapísimo y extraordinario actor Yeo Jin Goo (conocido por kdramas como "Mi novio absoluto" y "El payaso coronado"). He tenido la oportunidad de disfrutar de varios trabajos de ambos y verdaderamente se han ganado mi cariño y admiración 🥰. En esta ocasión IU le da vida al personaje Man Wol, mientras que nuestro Yeo Jin Goo al personaje Chan Sung.
Este kdrama nos cuenta la historia de Jang Man Wol (IU), una mujer bella, fuerte y decidida, que además suele ser fría, calculadora, vengativa y caprichosa. Por otro lado, tenemos a Chan Sung (Yeo Jin-Goo), un ser humano honesto, cálido, educado, responsable y de buen corazón, que cuando era tan solo un niño fue vendido por su padre a Man Wol, con el propósito de que ella lo perdonara por su intento de robo y le permitiera seguir con vida para terminar de criar a Chan Sung. Y por si fuera poco, para sorpresa de Man Wol, Chan Sung podría ser la clave para que ella logre sanar su corazón herido, liberarse de los rencores que lleva alimentando durante tanto tiempo y finalmente cambiar para mejor, algo que el castigo de más de 1000 años en el Hotel Del Luna por si solos no han podido lograr.
También conoceremos a profundidad las historias de otros 3 trabajadores del hotel, los cuales son espíritus que tienen permitido seguir en la tierra mientras el hotel y Man Wol continúen existiendo, y cada uno de ellos tiene su secreto y misión particular que los lleva a no querer seguir aún su camino hacia el más allá. La parejita protagonista me dejó enamorada, siento que tuvieron bastante química, se veían hermosos juntos, y las actuaciones de IU y Yeo Jin-Goo estuvieron espectaculares. Además, surgieron otras dos parejitas secundarias bastante tiernas e inesperadas a lo largo de la serie.
Hablando específicamente de Man Wol, me pareció excelente vivir la experiencia de que la protagonista fuera una mujer fuerte e independiente, pues es más común encontrar series coreanas en las cuales las mujeres son torpes o débiles, así que es algo refrescante para mi cada vez que encuentro personajes de kdrama como este. También amé su historia y evolución como personaje, además de cada uno de los peinados, accesorios y outfits tan espectaculares que le hicieron a la bella IU para esta serie.
Por otro lado, es muy fácil conectar con el personaje de Chan Sung, por ser tan noble y querer hacer todo lo posible por ayudar a otros, a pesar de que eso significara ponerse en peligro en más de una ocasión. Yeo Jin-Goo es un extraordinario actor que puede hacerte sentir cada una de las emociones de sus personajes, siempre es un deleite para mi verlo actuar, y en este kdrama no fue la excepción, nos puede hacer reí, emocionarnos y llorar fácilmente.
También disfruté de las historias de los personajes secundarios, los actores hicieron un gran trabajo y fue hermoso ver los vínculos que se iban fortaleciendo entre los trabajadores del Hotel Del Luna a medida que avanzaban los capítulos, me dieron la sensación de que se convirtieron en familia.
En cuánto a los efectos especiales, algunos me encantaron, sobretodo los que tenían que ver con movimientos de objetos, construcción del hotel, desvanecimiento, poderes y magia de diferente tipo, sin embargo, los efectos y maquillaje que colocaron en los rostros de varios espíritus no me terminaron de convencer pues en mi opinión no lucían muy realistas (aunque en parte eso será un alivio para las personas que se asustan fácilmente y no le gusta el género de terror).Por supuesto, esto no impide para nada disfrutar de la serie, pues a nivel visual en muchos sentidos es realmente espectacular, además de tratarse de una historia atrapante y conmovedora.
Cabe destacar, que la idea de que no sólo los vivos necesitan sanar, sino también las almas de los muertos antes de partir realmente me encantó, fue de los aspectos que más me hizo conectar con esta maravillosa serie. Especialmente adoré la variedad de historias de tantos personajes que logramos conocer, pienso que eso lo hizo un kdrama bastante entretenido, dinámico, reflexivo y emotivo.
La serie nos hace reflexionar en gran medida sobre la importancia del perdón, pues es algo necesario de hacer, no como un favor para la persona que nos lastimó, sino por nuestro propio bien, pues a los únicos que hacemos daño es a nosotros mismos si decidimos guardar rencores por mucho tiempo.
Además, me dejó la frase maravillosa pronunciada por una deidad, la cual decía: "A veces es mejor soltar que aferrarse". Una frase que considero muy cierta, pues pesar de lo doloroso o difícil que esto puede ser al principio. A la larga, soltar muchas veces termina siendo lo más sano para algunas relaciones y por supuesto, también para rencores, malos recuerdos y errores del pasado.
Por otro lado, nos hace reflexionar sobre lo valioso del tiempo con nuestros seres queridos, y cómo el compartir con alguien valioso para nosotros puede hacer que ese momento o esa actividad que estemos realizando sea mucho más hermosa y significativa.
Finalmente, series como esta que nos narran temas de vidas pasadas y futuras (reencarnación), siento que nos llenan de consuelo y esperanza acerca de que la muerte no es el final de todo, sino que puede representar también procesos de sanación, reencuentros y nuevos comienzos.
