Twenty-Five years later after a streak of brutal murders or should I say a killing spree by Billy Loomis and Stu Matcher had left the quiet town of Woodsboro, California in shock, a new killer resurfaces in the notorious ghostface mask and starts targeting a group of teenagers in order to resurrect secrets from the towns deadly past.
As expected, to retain the ‘scream-ness’ of the story, “Scream” opens with a phone call - and yes it’s still a landline!. There again, a teenage girl by the name Tara is forced to play a game with a slasher-film-obsessed killer/ stranger about her favorite scary movie. After being threatened with killing her best friend, Tara is forced to play along. Just like the other series she is still attacked by the person behind ghostface mask and barely survives it.

As suspects are being eliminated, bodies begin to pile up right up to the climax of the movie which takes place in the same house where the original murders were committed twenty-five years ago.

My opinion on ‘Scream’/mi opinión sobre 'Scream'
This last installment of scream is a mixture of bloody, scary, meta, funny and subversive. This requel- a cross between a reboot and sequel is an extension of the franchise that is positioned on a kitchen blade between the past and the present, a combination of heritage/ original characters from the first installment like Sydney Prescott Dewey Riley and Gale Weathers and new, younger characters.
Esta última entrega de Scream es una mezcla de sangriento, aterrador, meta, divertido y subversivo. As someone who had watched and loved the original scream, I was beyond excited to watch this 2022 version, set in the same town twenty-five years later. I must tell you- it didn’t disappoint me! This film is a combination of a bloody and brash experience, it’s an absolute treat that has carved out a place for itself as one of the best horror series.
The characters in this Scream movie don’t just have the same general knowledge of the original movie. They would destroy Randy Meeks in a trivia contest! They are smart enough and have seen enough ‘stab’ movies to know the killer is within their circle. The fact that everyone of them has a connection to the original characters doesn’t help matters.
Another surprising fact I noticed is that as a fan of the scream series, you’ll see yourself caring about new characters as much as the old/legacy characters. Seeing Sidney, Gale and Dewey again had me in a mix of emotions just as the relationship between Sam and Tara did.
Not only is this film refreshingly unpredictable with lots of secrets being brought to light, it has a twist ending, an ending that would make you cover your mouth as you gasp.
I like the fact the movie always begins with a phone call and ends in a house party.
For fans like me, it was nice to see the reunion between Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley even though they don’t over power the new characters, I wish they had been shown more in the movie.
Why do the people of Woodsboro never learn? There’s a killer on rampage but they continue to rely on binging the fictional ‘Stab stories’ and party harder while a killer is on the loose. They make it seem as though being attacked or killed is the least of their worries.
Como alguien que había visto y amado el grito original, estaba más que emocionado de ver esta versión de 2022, ambientada en la misma ciudad veinticinco años después. Debo decirte que no me decepcionó. Esta película es una combinación de una experiencia sangrienta y descarada, es un placer absoluto que se ha labrado un lugar como una de las mejores series de terror.
Los personajes de esta película de Scream no solo tienen el mismo conocimiento general de la película original. ¡Destruirían a Randy Meeks en un concurso de trivia! Son lo suficientemente inteligentes y han visto suficientes películas de "puñaladas" para saber que el asesino está dentro de su círculo. El hecho de que todos tengan una conexión con los personajes originales no ayuda.

Of course I would. But I will suggest you watch the original scream to have an idea of this last installment or to avoid getting lost in the story line.
If you’re a lover of horror movies, slasher movies, Gory movies, scary movies, bloody movies e.t.c. ‘Scream’ should be on your “To-Watch” list.
