When it comes to comedy I lean more towards television shows, this is because behind all those pre-recorded laughs of a sitcom there is a team of writers, who generally come from the most recognized stand-up scenes and one of their dream jobs is to write for a successful show. There are great TV hits I could tell you about in this Top, starting with my favorite: The office, which I already reviewed and following with more hits like Seinfield, Modern Family, How I meet your Mother, among many others, but I preferred to bring only movies for the contest of Movies & TV Shows Community Contest #2: What are your favorite comedies?.

En cuanto de comedia se trata me inclino más hacia los shows de televisión, esto es porque detrás de todas de esas risas pregrabadas de un sitcom hay un equipo de libretistas, que generalmente vienen salidos de los escenarios de stand-up más reconocidos y uno de sus trabajos soñados es escribir para un show exitoso. Like horror, I've always considered myself skeptical when it comes to comedy movies; it's hard for me to rate most of the movies in this genre as "Excellent". But it's not that I don't watch them, I always look at them with skepticism or with the premise that I'm just going to watch it to relax for a while without expecting anything back. However, as with everything, there have been a few titles that not only come out of the bunch but have gotten the longest laughs out of me and I can consider them as a lot of Excellent. And with you, in no specific order, My Top 5 of my favorite comedy movies:

1. Amélie: Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain

This 2001 French film starring Audrey Tatou, made me fall in love with filmmaking in general, I was just a teenager when it was released, but it stole my heart forever. It's a delicate comedy with incredible touches of visual magic, cinematography like you've never seen based on art and carried by the hand of Director Jean-Pierre Jeunet and cinematography by Bruno Delbonnel. Amélie is a shy waitress who does not interact with anyone but her father and some of her neighbors. But one day she decides to fix the lives of others by bringing them joy without others knowing that she is the one who makes it possible. It is narrated with a voice in off that tells us a story from the birth of Amélie and this is accompanied by a wonderful soundtrack composed by Yann Tiersen. Many may not consider it a comedy, but if it is, it is a dramatic and romantic comedy not at all empty and depending on the point of view in which you see it can get you more than smiles. It was nominated for 5 Oscars, it did not win any, but it had against it films like A beautiful Mind and Moulin Rouge, but the award for best cinematography went to The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Despite having few awards to its credit, Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain is considered a cult film, and as a comedy, I couldn't take it out of this top.

Esta película francesa de de 2001 protagonizada por Audrey Tatou, hizo que me enamorara de la cinematografía en general, era apenas una adolescente cuando se estrenó, pero robó mi corazón para siempre. Es una comedia delicada con increíbles toques de magia visual, una cinematografía como nunca se ha visto basada en el arte y llevada de la mano del Director Jean-Pierre Jeunet y la fotografía de Bruno Delbonnel. Amélie es una mesera tímida que no se relaciona con nadie que no sea su padre y alguno de sus vecinos. pero un día decide arreglar la vida de los demás llevandoles alegrías sin que otros sepan que fue ella la que lo hace posible. Esta narrada con una voz en off que nos va contando una historia desde el nacimiento de Amélie y esto va acompañado de una maravillosa banda sonora compuesta por Yann Tiersen. Puede que muchos no la consideren comedia, pero si lo es, es una comedia dramática y romántica para nada vacía, y dependiendo del punto de vista en que la veas puede sacarte más que sonrisas. Fue nominada a 5 premios oscars, no ganó ninguno, pero esque tenía en su contra a películas como A beautiful Mind y Moulin Rouge, pero el premio a major cinematografía selo llevó The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. A pesar de tener pocos premios en su haber, Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain es considerada una película de culto, y como comedia no podía sacarla de este top.

Continuing with this dramatic comedy, I will include in the list this 2019 film directed and adapted to film by Taika Waititi. Jojo Rabbit is a black and dramatic comedy that shows us the life of little Jojo, a German boy who dreams of entering as a soldier in the ranks of the Nazi party and who also has as an imaginary friend Adolf Hitler, during that time he discovers that his mother has hidden in her house there is a Jewish girl, which makes the plot quite interesting. This cinematic beauty, besides having a rather marked black humor, also turns out to be highly moving to the point of ending in the deepest tears. With the film's satire, it also seeks to see the German point of view from a funnier environment to bring us to a nuance that will make us not forget that this is a war. There is a bad habit of always putting everyone in the same bag, labeling each citizen with a label based on the evil they have done, when we know that not everyone is as labeled, and the Germans are the ones who have had the hardest time getting rid of this and this film gave a different approach.

Siguiendo con esto de la comedia dramática, incluiré en la lista esta película del año 2019 dirigida y adaptada al cine por Taika Waititi. Jojo Rabbit es una comedia negra y dramática queue nos muestra la vida del pequeño Jojo, un niño alemán que sueña con entrar como soldado a las filas del partido Nazi y que además tiene como amigo imaginario a Adolf Hitler, durante esa época descubre que su madre ha escondido en su casa hay una niña judía, lo que hace que la trama see torne bastante interesante. Esta belleza cinematográfica, además de tener un humor negro bastante marcado, también resulta ser altamente conmovedor al punto de terminar en las más profundas lágrimas. Con la sátira de la película se busca también ver el punto de vista alemán desde un entorno más gracioso para llevarnos a un matiz que hará que no olvidemos que esta es una guerra. Se tiene la mala costumbre de meter siempre metemos a todo el mundo en un mismo saco, etiquetando a cada ciudadano con alguna etiqueta que se base en el mal que han hecho, cuando sabemos que no todos son tal cual lo etiquetan, y los alemanes son de los que más les ha costado sacarse esto de encima y esta película le dio un enfoque diferente.

And lest you think it's just a movie that tries to be funny, they incorporated the Australian actress Rebel Wilson, a comedy actress that I find to be one of the funniest in existence. Besides being an excellent comedy, it has something even more impressive, its child actors; *Roman Griffin Davis*, who plays Jojo, gives such a spectacular performance that he was nominated for a Golden Globe, and we cannot leave out *Thomasin McKenzie*, who plays Elsa and *Archie Yates*, who shined with her own light in the production and who we will also see in the future in the new **Home Alone** movie. The film was also nominated for multiple awards and won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. This is without a doubt, a work that I could not afford to overlook for this top and one that I highly recommend that if you have not seen, you should take the time to do so.

Cuenta con la actuación de Scarlett Johanson, haciendo el papel de la mamá de Jojo. y con Sam Rockwell, que hace de un entrenador nazi que cuida del pequeño Jojo. En el papel de Hitler tenemos al propio director, Waititi, que le ha dado un perfil bastante ridículo a uno de los personajes más odiados de la historia del mundo, esto le aporta el carácter satírico a esta maravillosa pieza. Y para que no crean que es solo una película que intenta ser graciosa, incorporaron a la australiana Rebel Wilson, una actriz de comedia que en lo particular me parece de las más graciosas que existe. Además de ser una excelsa comedia, cuenta con algo aún más impresionante, sus actores infantiles; Roman Griffin Davis, quien interpreta a Jojo, hace una actuación tan espectacular que estuvo nominado a un Golden Globe, y no podemos dejar de lado a Thomasin McKenzie, quien interpreta a Elsa y a Archie Yates, quien brilló con luz propia en la producción y que además veremos en elfuturo en la nueva película de Home Alone. La película también estuvo nominada en múltiples premiaciones, y ganó el Oscar por mejor Guion Adaptado. Esta es sin duda alguna, una obra que no me podía permitir pasar por alto para este top, y que recomiendo altamente que si no han visto, deben tomarse el tiempo de hacerlo.

Every once in a while a movie comes along that is unique within its genre and surpasses any expectations. This happened to me when I first saw the 2018 war movie Tropic Thunder, if you don't know what it is about you can be sure that you won't be able to stop laughing with this crazy movie. It is a choral comedy, with several actors who are heavyweights within the movie world and in which no one stands out more than another as the main one. This movie is about a group of actors who are hired to make a high budget war movie but they get caught up in a real war, so the picture changes completely as they shoot the movie using the war in the background and while they continue to believe it is all part of the production, the plot takes all the clichés of war movies and along with some performances that are as funny as they are stupid, makes the film totally hilarious and it is almost impossible not to get a laugh out of it.

De vez en cuando aparece una película que es única dentro de su género y que sobrepasa cualquier expectativa. Esto me pasó cuando vi por primera vez la película de guerra: Tropic Thunder del año 2018, si no saben de que se trata pueden estar seguros que no podrás parar de reír con esta locura de película. Es una comedia coral, con varios actores que son pesos pesados dentro del mundo del cine y en el que ninguno sobresale más que otro como principal. Esta película trata de un grupo de actores que son contratados para hacer una película de guerra de alto presupuesto pero estos se ven atrapados dentro de una guerra verdadera, así que el panorama cambia completamente mientras graban la película usando la guerra de fondo y mientras siguen creyendo que es todo parte de la producción, la trama toma todos los clichés de las películas bélicas y junto a unas actuaciones que son tan graciosas como estúpidas, hace totalmente hilarante el film y es casi imposible no sacarte risas.

This movie is directed and produced by Ben Stiller who also co-wrote it with Etan Cohen and Justin Theroux. Obviously Ben Stiller also participates in this comedy, he plays an action actor who has already left behind the best days of his career, so he embarks on the campaign to make this great movie. He is accompanied by Jack Black, who plays a comedy actor with serious drug use problems and the best role of the whole movie is played by Robert Downey Jr, who plays an Oscar-winning method author, but for this role, he underwent skin surgery that made him a black man. And going off the plot, Robert Downey Jr. was nominated several times for this controversial role, including for an Oscar. It's a movie in which we will do nothing but laugh, it leaves no message, just laughs, Downey's performance, and an incredible dance by Tom Cruise.

Obviamente Ben Stiller también participa en esta comedia, interpreta a un actor de acción que ya ha dejado atrás los mejores días de su carrera, así que se emprende en la campaña de hacer esta gran película. lo acompaña Jack Black, quién interpreta aun actor de comedia con serios problemas de consumo de drogas y el mejor papel de toda la película que es interpretado por Robert Downey Jr., quien interpreta a un autor de método ganador de premios Oscars, pero que para este papel se sometió a una cirugía de piel que lo hizo un hombre negro. Y saliendo de la trama, a Robert Downey Jr lo nominaron varias veces por este controversial papel, incluyendo al premio Oscar. Who said women can't be funny? This movie I bring you is about a group of girlfriends, but you won't see the classic best friends on a road trip (wait a minute, yes they do), well, they do, but they don't go looking for the love of their lives, they go celebrating. Ok, I'll put you in context because it's a chick flick but it's for everyone. The plot around Annie, who is chosen by her best friend, Lillian, to be her maid of honor and therefore help her organize her wedding, Annie has no idea what she is supposed to do and in the course of time, she realizes she is a mess. In the meantime, she meets the rest of the entourage, of which Helen, Lillian's other best friend and also a wedding planner, stands out. Oh yes, I said there was a trip, this entourage decides to go to Las Vegas to celebrate Lillian's bachelorette party. This movie, even though it revolves around a wedding, is about friendship, female bonding, and of course, lots of laughs.

Esta película que les traigo trata de un grupo de amigas, pero ni verán a las clásicas mejores amigas sumidas en un roadtrip (Un momento, si que lo hacen),bueno, si lo hacen pero no van a buscar al amor de sus vidas sino a celebrar. Ok, los pongo en contexto, porque es una película de chicas pero es para todo el mundo. La trama en torno a Annie, quien es escogida por su mejor amiga, Lillian, para que sea su dama de honor y por lo tanto le ayude a organizar su boda, Annie no tiene idea de que es lo que debe hacer y en el transcurso del tiempo se da cuenta de que es un desastre. Mientras tanto conoce al resto del cortejo, en el que sobresale Helen, la otra mejor amiga de Lillian y que además es organizadora de bodas. Ah, si, dije que había un viaje, este cortejo decide irse a Las Vegas a celebrar la despedida de soltera de Lillian. Esta película, a pesar que gira en torno a una boda, habla de la amistada, la unión entre mujeres y por supuesto, muchas risas.

I couldn't call it a romantic comedy because the plot doesn't focus on that, they even satirize any attempt at romance within the film. Wiig is extraordinarily funny, and together with this cast, they have managed to make a group of women prove to the world that they can be totally funny. For this reason, it is one of my favorite comedies and I couldn't leave it out.

Esta película fue producida por Judd Apatow y escrita por Kirsten Wiig, quien también estuvo nominada en este renglón a los premios Oscars. No podría calificarla como una comedia romántica porque la trama no se centra en eso, hasta satirizan cualquier intento de romance dentro de la película. Wiig es extraordinariamente graciosa, y junto a este elenco han logrado hacer que un grupo de mujeres le demostraran al mundo que pueden ser totalmente graciosas. Es por esta razón,que es una de mis comedias favoritas y no podía dejarla por fuera.

Finally, I could not leave out one of the greatest exponents of comedy, his name already sounds like a lot of laughs, it is Jim Carrey with the comedy Liar, Liar from 1997. In this movie, Carrey plays an ambitious and extremely lying lawyer (and of course, it's part of his job, isn't it?), divorced and with a little son who is always left with illusions and a broken heart, so on his birthday, left once again by his father, the boy made a wish that his father could not tell lies. It is obvious that the dream came true and the quality of comedy that began to emerge because of this is impressive. Jim Carrey managed to prove that he didn't need costumes, wigs, or masks to be an acting genius and a physical comedian like no other. This movie was released when I was just starting my teenage years, and I remember laughing out loud with my brother and best friend. I don't think there's anyone who hasn't seen this comedy classic that established the actor of The Mask and Ace Ventura as one of the best there is.

Para finalizar, no podía dejar por fuera a uno de los máximos exponentes de la comedia, su nombre ya suena a muchas risas, se trata de Jim Carrey con la comedia Mentiroso,mentiroso de 1997. En esta película, Carrey interpreta a un abogado ambicioso y extremadamente mentiroso (y como no, es parte de su trabajo, ¿o no?), divorciado y con un pequeño hijo al que siempre deja ilusionado y con el corazón rota, así que el día de su cumpleaños, dejado una vez más por su padre, el niño pidió de deseo que su padre no pudiera decir mentiras. Es obvio que el sueño se hizo realidad y la calidad de comedia que empezó a surgir a causa de esto es impresionante. Jim Carrey logró demostrar que no necesitaba trajes, pelucas, ni máscaras para ser un genio de la actuación, y un cómico físico como ningún otro. Esta película fue estrenada cuando yo apenas estaba empezando mi adolescencia, y recuerdo reírme a carcajadas junto a mi hermano y a mí mejor amigo. No creo que exista nadie que no haya visto este clásico de la comedia y en el que consolidó al actor de La Mascara y de Ace ventura como uno de los mejores que existe.
