Así que no añado mas nada mas y vamos directamente a la reseña de la sexta y última temporada de The Crown.

Yo ademas siento que en términos generales, la vida de la Reina era muchísimo más interesante de relatar, creo que la corona británica tiene un antes y un después de Isabel II y eso siempre fue el principal atractivo de esta serie, así que en cuanto al número de temporadas que se plante la serie y el periodo de tiempo que relato, yo estoy bastante conforme. Con lo que quizás no estoy tan conforme es con la forma en cómo se desarrollaron las últimas dos temporadas, bien lo dije en mi opinión de la temporada 5, y también es algo que sentí en este final de serie, y es que se le quitó un poco de protagonismo a la Reina, entiendo que el foco de la serie era La Corona como un ente propio de poder, pero durante 4 temporadas tuvimos una figura de jerarquía e importancia que era la Reina, y en las últimas dos se pasó el foco a otras personas, en la temporada 5 el foco completo lo tuvo Carlos (en un pequeño intento de limpiar su imagen), y en esta 6ta temporada el foco lo tuvieron Diana y Guillermo.

SourceAunque no soy fan de dividir las cosas en dos parte, tal y como hicieron con ésta última temporada (y como pretenden hacer con Bridgerton), si me parece necesario separar la reseña en creo que varias partes, sobre todo porque a nivel de hechos o de cómo se sintió la temporada completa, al menos a mi parecer si hay esta división, el ritmo se siente diferente y aunque yo no la vi completa sino en las dos partes correspondientes, estoy segura que si la ve de nuevo corrida igual sentiría esta separación. Es importante tener en cuenta que la primera parte empieza con los acontecimientos inmediatamente previos a la muerte de la Princesa Diana y termina con el discurso de la Reina en el funeral, entonces teniendo esto en cuenta puedo decir que 4 capítulos para llevar a cabo esto fue más que suficiente, es mas me atreveria a decir que se pudo desarrollar en menos, porque justamente en este primera parte se le da demasiado protagonismo a Diana, incluso Dodi Al-Fayed llega a tener más participación y peso en esta primera parte que el resto de la familia real, y eso de hecho pensé que lo compensarían relatando mas de como fue para la Reina el recibir la noticia y decidir hacer el funeral de la princesa de la forma en que se hizo, así como dar el discurso, que aunque el discurso es lo que cierra la primera parte, debo decir que no tuvo el peso emocional que espere que tendría.

Toda la escena de la muerte y funeral de la princesa fue sumamente conmovedora para mí, de hecho lloré con toda esta secuencia, y no se imaginan lo frustrada que me hizo sentir la representación del acoso de los paparazzi, de verdad que me quito el sombrero con esas escenas porque siento que capturaron a la perfección lo que ella debió sentir con todo ese acoso, cada flash lanzado, la forma en cómo rodeaban el carro donde ella iba, como la hacían correr, su absoluta incomodidad con todo lo que estaba pasando, de verdad que se sintió como estar encerrada en una caja de cristal sin posibilidades de salir, y justamente eso me hizo conmover aún más con toda la representación de su muerte, fue literalmente como una montaña rusa y eso habla del excelente trabajo que se hizo a nivel actoral y de producción, y esta es una de las razones por las cuales esta fue una serie de lujo. Sin embargo, como no todo puede ser perfecto, un detalle que si no fue de mi agrado fue usar la imagen de Diana para suavizar o incluso limpiar la cara de la monarquía, y en este sentido hablo de las escenas de Diana con la Reina y Carlos, en lo que parecía ser una imaginación por parte de ellos, de verdad que no se sintió para nada orgánico y mas bien como algo que no debieron hacer.

El resto de la temporada constituyó al resto de los acontecimientos, aquí si es cierto que nos enfocamos más en la familia real como tal, pero al ser justamente la paz luego de la tormenta, aquí vemos un poco de los estragos que dejó la muerte de la princesa, no solo a nivel legal, por todo este movimiento policial que vino después por parte de la familia Al - Fayed, sino también todas las repercusiones emocionales que tuvieron que vivir el príncipe Guillermo y el príncipe Enrique. Aquí también comenzamos a ver el peso de la corona sobre Guillermo y un poco sobre Enrique también, para el primero está todo este deber y toda esta imagen de chico educado y correcto, y para el segundo toda esta rebeldía e imagen de chico problemático que según el mismo debe seguir como “el segundo”, y es bastante interesante ver esta dinámica porque me hizo recordar a una joven Reina Isabel y una joven Princesa Margarita, la primera siendo imagen de la monarquía y por ende la cara del deber, la honestidad y el buen comportamiento, y la segunda siendo la problemática, fiestera y errática hermana de la Reina, quien siempre sería la segunda y nunca la protagonista, este lo sentí como un paralelismo muy interesante que no vimos en los hijos de la Reina pero que sí era totalmente esperado en sus nietos.

El segundo momento que me hizo llorar fue evidentemente la muerte de la Princesa Margarita, teniendo en cuenta que construyeron todo un capítulo para despedirla, y que su escena final fue tan emotiva era más que evidente que su despedida sería de las más conmovedoras, y de tal forma logró hacerme llorar.

En el capítulo final vemos una pequeña “crisis existencial”, donde nos encontramos con una Reina que por un momento desea abdicar en favor de su hijo Carlos, agotada y un poco impactada por todo los sucesos que ocurren a su alrededor, con la pérdida de su mamá y también de su hermana de forma abrupta y reciente, nos muestran a una monarca que es “aconsejada” por sus versiones antiguas y además por su esposo, y que al final toma la decisión de permanecer hasta el final, como ya sabemos que realmente pasó. Nos muestran el inicio del protocolo Puente de Londres, es decir la preparación y ensayo del funeral de la Reina, ensayos que se dice se llevaron a cabo varias veces en los últimos años de vida de la monarca, y es así como nos dan una representación poética y simbólica de la despedida de la Reina Isabel II, no solo del cargo que ostentó durante 70 años, sino también una adiós a su vida. Qué más les puedo decir, fue un final magnífico, planificado de forma detallada y con los paralelismos necesarios, el fin de una grandiosa serie.

They show us the beginning of the London Bridge protocol, that is, the preparation and rehearsal of the Queen's funeral, rehearsals that are said to have taken place several times in the last years of the monarch's life, and this is how they give us a poetic and symbolic representation of the farewell of Queen Elizabeth II, not only of the office she held for 70 years, but also a farewell to her life. What else can I say, it was a magnificent ending, planned in detail and with the necessary parallels, the end of a great series.
