Today I decided to watch one of the older films, from 1995.
France is a beautiful country, but apart from beauty it also hides riots, poverty and the desire to escape to a better tomorrow.

The film has a very interestingly realized cinematography, the cameraman even throws the viewer into the middle of the action, but even in the most inconspicuous scenes he creates an extraordinary shot that makes you feel the magic of the film as you walk along.
I haven't seen many French films in my life, but every one I tried to find was one that stood out.

Here, apart from great cinematography, we have so called rebellious generation which wants to change something in their country and while watching it I felt that the film works.
The film tells the story of three young friends living in an apartment building. Each of them has priorities, each of them has dreams, but also each of them has their own visions about life

The plot revolves around the riots that ensued when one policeman shot a young boy, and that's when all the action started.
It is a film full of pain, full of the desire to escape, but at the same time to belong to a place. It's a film that shows what life was like in the 9's, showing block parties, simple themes, break dancing.

La haine depicts one day, what happened in those 24 hours, how friendship was put to the test, and how much a human life is worth.
The finale is very telling, it's one of those finales where we as the audience are completely surprised by the actions of the characters.

Every scene in the film is a little masterpiece in terms of the camera work and how the cinematography is shot, often with close-ups and distant looks from behind. The editing is as chaotic as the soul of the young protagonists who live in a shabby neighborhood.

Director Mathieu Kassovitz creates a story that is worth watching. Despite the title of the film being hate, it is not vulgar, it simply tells 24 hours of the lives of 3 friends who have their own goals.

The film also touches on the problems of racism and how the police attacked certain ethnic groups without any reason. It's worth a look because it's a little time machine that takes you back to the In the 90s, instead of smartphones, young people were sitting somewhere aimlessly, looking for the meaning of life.

However, there is also the aspect of riots and revenge, so we get an interesting film that will keep you in suspense until the very interesting final scene. 8/10
