Welcome dear internet travelers lovers of classic tales and thank you very much for making a temporary stop in my post, for no one is a secret the fact that I have always been reluctant to live-action adaptations of Disney since there are many limitations in order to adapt something animated to real action, however this year the adaptation of "Pinocchio" was released which is based on one of my favorite classic animated films so I decided to take a risk and see it. Without more to add, I recommend that you do not tell lies since having a big nose will not help you in the adventure that is about to begin.
Bienvenidos queridos viajeros del internet amantes de los cuentos clásicos y muchas gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post, para nadie es un secreto el hecho de que siempre me he encontrado reacio ante las adaptaciones live-action de Disney puesto que existen muchas limitantes de cara a adaptar algo animado a la acción real, sin embargo este año se estrenó la adaptación de “Pinocchio” la cual se basa en una de mis películas animadas clásicas favoritas por lo que decidí arriesgarme y verla. Sin más que agregar les recomiendo que no digan mentiras ya que el tener la nariz grande no les ayudara en la aventura que está por comenzar.

Both present a story of fantasy and adventure, focus on a small town, a cricket named Peppito begins to tell about how in the past he befriended a puppet alive, this doll came to life thanks to the desire of an old carpenter named Geppetto who was the one who carved Pinocchio; Pinocchio's mission will be to prove that he is a good child so that he can transform himself into a real child.
Pinocchio se encuentra basado en la novela llamada “Le avventure di Pinocchio” escrito por Carlo Collodi, su versión animada fue estrenada en 1940, dirigida por Norman Ferguson y producida por Walt Disney Productions, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 28 minutos. Por su parte la versión de acción real fue estrenada este año, dirigida por Robert Zemeckis y producida por Walt Disney Pictures, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 45 minutos. Ambas presentan una historia de fantasía y aventura, se enfocan en un pequeño pueblo, un grillo llamado Peppito comienza a contar sobre como en el pasado se hizo amigo de una marioneta con vida, este muñeco cobro vida gracias al deseo de un viejo carpintero de nombre Geppetto quien fue el que tallo a Pinocchio; la misión de Pinocchio será demostrar que es un niño bueno para que pueda transformarse un niño de verdad.

We are talking about a Disney movie so it is more than evident that the musical section must be something important, in the animated version this is a fact, there are many songs that have to do directly with the plot. This in general is done well by the 2 versions since the soundtrack is very good in both, although I will not forgive the live-action version that did not include "Give a little whistle".
Estamos hablando de una película de Disney por lo que es más que evidente que el apartado musical debe ser algo importante, en la versión animada esto es un hecho, existen multitud de canciones que tienen que ver directamente con la trama. Esto en general lo hacen bien las 2 versiones puesto que la banda sonora es muy buena en ambas, aunque no le perdonare a la versión live-action que no incluyese “Give a little whistle”.
The animation of the classic is basic since we are talking about a film that has more than 70 years behind it so it is inevitable that it is simple, despite this it manages to be decent and even look relatively good today. In this section I will include the differences that exist with the live-action version, these are noticeable because there are limitations that would be complex to emulate, this leads to not everything that appears in the animated film can be transferred with the same ease to live-action, this is especially noticeable in the comic moments of characters like Figaro or Peppito to give two examples.
La animación del clásico es básica puesto que estamos hablando de una película que tiene más de 70 años a sus espaldas por lo que es inevitable que sea simple, pese a ello logra ser decente e incluso verse relativamente bien actualmente. En este apartado incluiré las diferencias que existen con la versión de acción real, estas se notan debido a que existen limitantes que serían complejas de emular, esto lleva a que no todo lo que aparece en el filme animado pueda trasladarse con la misma facilidad al live-action, esto se nota sobre todo en los momentos cómicos de personajes como Fígaro o Peppito por poner dos ejemplos.

La construcción de mundo es exactamente igual, un pueblo pequeño que tiene a diferentes individuos tanto buenos como malos , en eso no hay mucha diferencia puesto que transmiten exactamente lo mismo; sin embargo, algo que he de destacar es el hecho de que en la animación se encuentra más presente el tema de la magia, siendo que en más de una ocasión existe una intervención con el uso de esta para que ese toque de fantasía quede más remarcado.
This section and the next are the ones in which I consider that there are greater differences between the films, first I will detail their similarities and then their differences; Both have a simple narrative that seeks to convey a message about the importance of being a good child and so on, here there is a difference but I will return to it later, in the same way it happens with what refers to the events being these almost the same. The differences are more present in the section of comedy, the animated version has much of this that is well achieved since it is simple and pleasant, here is the first difference, the live-action film tries to have a more serious tone reducing the comedy, however it does not dare to go deep with this and ends up being a feature film without comic moments that entertain making it feel much more tedious and boring to watch, as it is pretentious with the subject of seriousness and complexity.
Este apartado y en el siguiente son en los que considero que hay mayores diferencias entre los filmes, primero detallaré sus similitudes y luego sus diferencias; ambas poseen una narrativa simple que busca transmitir un mensaje sobre la importancia de ser un niño bueno y demás, aquí existe una diferencia pero la retomaré más adelante, de igual forma ocurre con lo que se refiere a los acontecimientos siendo estos casi iguales. Las diferencias se encuentra más presentes en el apartado de la comedia, la versión animada tiene mucha de esta que se encuentra bien lograda puesto que es simple y agradable, aquí existe la primera diferencia, el filme live-action intenta tener un tono más serio reduciendo la comedia, sin embargo no se atreve a ir a fondo con esto y termina siendo un largometraje sin momentos cómicos que entretengan haciendo que se sienta mucho más tediosa y aburrida de ver, ya que es pretenciosa con el tema de la seriedad y complejidad.

Este es el apartado que más sufre durante el proceso de adaptación, detallaré los personajes que más cambian: Pinocchio es el primero, su versión animada lo muestra como un niño bastante plausible, con cierto grado de conocimiento sobre lo que está bien y mal, siendo que comete errores y toma malas decisiones que tienen consecuencias, esto le lleva a una reflexión en donde es consciente de sus malos actos y se compromete a mejorar; su versión live-action no tiene estos momentos de reflexión, en cambio constantemente es victimizado y se usa en más de una ocasión el hecho de que no es su culpa sino que se encontraba en el lugar y momento equivocados, carece de esta toma de responsabilidad siendo que la evolución que debería tener el personaje resulta inexistente, incluso en algunos puntos parece retardado.

Algo similar pasa con el hada azul (Obviando el tema de su color de piel) se tiene que en la versión live-action es mucho más apática con el bienestar de Pinocchio e incluso solo tiene una única presencia, en la versión animada interviene constantemente con el fin de ayudar al pequeño con todos sus problemas bien sea de forma directa o indirecta, esto la hace un personaje interesante y activo que tiene algo que aportar, no solamente ser un medio para dar vida al muñeco. Geppetto se torna mucho más depresivo en la adaptación real, repitiendo en más de una ocasión el hecho de que su hijo no es de verdad, careciendo de ese amor paternal incondicional que realmente transmite el de la versión animada y que era la función principal del personaje. Por último están los antagonistas Strómboli, Honest John y Gideon que solo buscan su propio beneficio, con el primero no hay diferencia pero los segundos son mucho más despiadados al hacer muchas más cosas por dinero los que le da cierto carácter de maleantes en la versión animada y no solo unos mentirosos que buscan ganar un par de monedas; The Coachman es un villano del cual se le nota mucha diferencia entre versiones, es mucho más cínico, despiadado e incluso aterrador en su versión animada, sentimientos que no evoca en el live-action, haciendo que el villano pierda presencia e imponencia.
Pinocchio was an iconic animation in his time and still is, he managed to give a beautiful message without touching the fact of being a sermoner, makes young and old alike reflect on the importance of being a good person; For its part, live-action achieves this but on a much smaller scale, the fact that it adds extra scenes that contribute nothing simply feels like a waste of time, added to the fact that it limits the comedy moments that were something important in the original adaptation. All this leads to the animated version deserves a solid 4 stars out of 7, meanwhile, its ugly live-action brother deserves 2 stars out of 7, the dissonance in its endings is very correct since the animated Pinocchio really manages to prove its worth through its actions so it deserved to become a real child, the other better than still being a doll.
Pinocchio fue una animación icónica en su tiempo y aún lo sigue siendo, logró dar un mensaje lindo sin rozar el hecho de ser sermonero, hace reflexionar a pequeños y grandes por igual sobre la importancia de ser buena persona; por su parte el live-action logra esto pero a una escala mucho menor, el hecho de que agregue escenas extra que no aportan nada simplemente se siente como desperdicio de tiempo, sumado el hecho de que limita los momentos de comedia que fueron algo importante en la adaptación original. Todo esto conlleva a que la versión animada merezca unas sólidas 4 estrellas de 7, por su parte, su hermano feo de live-action merece 2 estrellas de 7, la disonancia en sus finales es muy correcta puesto que el Pinocchio animado realmente logra probar su valía mediante sus acciones por lo que merecía volverse un niño real, el otro mejor que siga siendo un muñeco.
