Normalmente no hago reseñas de películas conocidas porque siento que ya hay mucho de lo mismo, pero en este caso me dieron ganas de hablar de esta película porque, como fan de Batman, vi varias referencias en el film. The Batman, una película con una duración de casi tres horas sobre el héroe de ciudad gótica, sus inicios, sus errores ¿Es tan buena como dicen?
La primera impresión que me dio la película es que estaba basada en Long Halloween, un comic y una película animada de dos partes de Batman, y no es como si fuese una pequeña parte de la película, es casi toda la película basada en ese comic, puede tener ciertas cosas diferentes para hacer una diferencia entre la película animada y el live action, pero el sentimiento se mantiene igual en ambas.
Al buscar en que estaba basada la película supe que el director Matt Reeves se baso en tres comics, Year One, The Long Halloween y Ego. Me dio la impresión; solo un poco, de que tenia algo de Dark Knight Returns, aunque es todo lo contrario ya que esa historia es de un Batman ya mayor y la película muestra a un Batman mucho más joven. No he llegado a ver Ego, pero con la primera parte y segunda de The Long Halloween creo que es suficiente para ver en que se baso.
Aunque la película quiso mostrar a un Batman novato y su lado más detectivesco, no dio totalmente esa impresión, pudo parecer para mi que si era un novato, pero su lado de detective no lo pude llegar a ver. En una escena, Bruce estuvo apunto de empezar a investigar el caso, cuando fue interrumpido y no dio el tiempo para mostrar de lo que es capaz como detective, porque resolver acertijos no es lo único que hace un detective.
En la parte de los personajes y sus vestuarios, el único que estoy en desacuerdo es con el Pinguino, la historia de este villano es que de pequeño nació con deformaciones en el cuerpo que le hicieron ganar ese apodo, no su mal caminar o su físico corpulento, pudieron siquiera colocarle la nariz encorvada para darle sentido a su nombre, aunque la apariencia del actor al personaje es abismal, creo que con solo hacer su nariz puntiaguda fuera sido perfecto para el personaje.
Soy fanático de DC Comics, me encantan sus historias, pero debo de admitir que en los live action nunca tienen la suerte que se espera, tal vez por su mala organización o mal distribución de personajes, por ejemplo, al mostrar un Joker deformado, con cicatrices y ya con una historia con Batman, nos tiran a la basura al Joker de Jared Leto, ademas de que en una posible secuela o en otra entrega, tengamos que ver flashbacks del enfrentamiento que tuvo con Joker, haciéndonos perder algo de tiempo al mostrarnos a un Batman más maduro con flashbacks de un Batman novato, como llegaron a hacer con la primera de Suicide Squad.
Espero que en una próxima entrega puedan mejorar sus historias, para que pueda ser un hermoso rompecabezas como lo puede ser el de Marvel, y no una pizarra con hilos teniendo notas en todos lados porque no se conecta nada pero igual nos presenta algo. De igual forma, si desean saber más de DC y sus increíbles historias, existen películas animadas como Justice League Doom, Flashpoint, Justice League Dark, incluso la serie animada Young Justice, donde se puede entender mejor las películas live action y se sabe más de estos personajes.
Normally I don't do reviews of well-known movies because I feel like there's already a lot of the same, but in this case I wanted to talk about this movie because, as a fan of Batman, I saw several references in the film. The Batman, a movie lasting almost three hours about the Gotham City hero, his beginnings, his mistakes. Is it as good as they say?
My first impression of the movie was that it was based on Long Halloween, a two-part Batman comic and animated movie, and it's not like it's a small part of the movie, it's almost the entire movie based on that comic. It may have certain different things to make a difference between animated movie and live action, but the feeling stays the same in both.
Looking up what the movie was based on I learned that director Matt Reeves was based on three comics, Year One, The Long Halloween and Ego. It gave me the impression; just a little, that it had something from Dark Knight Returns, although it's quite the opposite since that story is about an older Batman and the movie shows a much younger Batman. I haven't seen Ego, but with the first and second parts of The Long Halloween I think it's enough to see what it was based on.
Although the movie wanted to show a rookie Batman and his detective side of him, it didn't totally give that impression, it might seem to me that if he was a rookie, but the detective side of him I couldn't get to see. In one scene, Bruce was about to start investigating the case, when he was interrupted and didn't give the time to show what he's capable of as a detective, because solving puzzles isn't the only thing a detective does.
In the part of the characters and their costumes, the only one I disagree with is the Penguin, the story of this villain is that as a child he was born with body deformities that earned him that nickname, not his bad walk or his physique corpulent, they could even put a curved nose to make sense of his name, although the appearance of the actor to the character is abysmal, I think that just making his nose pointed would have been perfect for the character.
I am a fan of DC Comics, I love their stories, but I must admit that in live action they never have the luck that is expected, perhaps due to their poor organization or poor distribution of characters, for example, by showing a deformed Joker, with scars and already with a history with Batman, Jared Leto's Joker is thrown in the trash, in addition to the fact that in a possible sequel or in another installment, we have to see flashbacks of the confrontation he had with Joker, making us lose some time by showing us to a more mature Batman with flashbacks of a rookie Batman, as they did with the first Suicide Squad.
I hope that in a next installment they can improve their stories, so that it can be a beautiful puzzle like Marvel's, and not a blackboard with threads having notes everywhere because nothing is connected but it still presents us with something. Similarly, if you want to know more about DC and its incredible stories, there are animated movies like Justice League Doom, Flashpoint, Justice League Dark, even the Young Justice animated series, where you can better understand live action movies and know more about the characters and their stories.
