Hola Hivers amantes de las películas, hoy quiero hacer una publicación diferente de las que habitualmente realizo en esta comunidad. Normalmente escribo sobre películas que me parecen buenas o al menos entretenidas, nunca he hecho una crítica que sea negativa, sin embargo, hoy salgo de esa zona de confort para comentar y opinar sobre una película que personalmente no me agradó. Se llama How It Ends, el final del todo en español.
Esta película se estrenó en la plataforma de Netflix en el 2018, dirigida por David M. Rosenthal, el reparto lo protagoniza Theo James y Forest Whitaker. He visto trabajos de Theo James, como en la saga divergente y otras producciones, sin embargo, las películas donde actúa Forest Whitaker son sinónimo de buenas aventuras y mucha acción, la verdad este actor realiza muy buenos papeles en distintas películas.
Sinopsis:
Will y Samantha están a punto de tener un hijo, Will realiza un viaje en avión desde Seattle a Chicago para pedir la mano de su novia, sin embargo, el estricto padre de Sam es un duro hueso de roer y le complica las cosas a Will. En una llamada se escucha un fuerte ruido al mismo tiempo que la mitad del país se queda sin energía eléctrica. Un gran desastre ocurre en el otro extremo del país, Will y el padre de Sam viajan en auto para tratar de rescatar a Sam, en el camino encontraran distintas dificultades en un ambiente postapocaliptico.
En lo particular me agradan las películas de desastre naturales, me gusta ver los efectos especiales como se desarrollan dentro de la trama, me parece un tipo de película bastante aceptado en el mundo del cine, al ver el tráiler me llamó la atención que uno de los protagonistas es Forest Whitaker, dentro de mi cabeza argumentaba que este actor no protagoniza películas con mala recepción, la verdad me equivoqué con esta producción cinematográfica.
Además de un reparto decente, me causó curiosidad el tráiler de esta película mostrando una gran variedad de escenas con buenos efectos especiales. Escena de devastación en ciudades y tormentas implacables, pero sobre todo me causó bastante curiosidad una escena que se ve en el tráiler donde conducen en un Jeep y detrás se aproxima una gran nube de polvo y roca parecida a una erupción volcánica, esto me recordó varias grandes películas de desastres naturales donde un gran volcán hacia erupción.
El tráiler y el reparto son lo suficientemente atractivo para envolver al espectador y utilizar la suscripción en Netflix para ver esta película. Además si el espectador es amante de las películas de acción y de desastres naturales estará convencido en ver esta película.
Calificación
Normalmente muestro la calificación al final de la publicación, sin embargo, quiero darle mi calificación a esta película y luego argumentar las razones de dicha calificación.

Esta calificación es claramente negativa, la razón principal de una calificación baja o negativa es que la publicidad o el tráiler genera una gran expectativa en el espectador, sin embargo, estas expectativas no se cumplen en toda la película, para un fan de las películas de desastres naturales y de los efectos especiales esta película le parecerá muy lenta y tediosa.
Un desastre
En la esta película ocurre un gran desastre, sin embargo, en ningún momento se confirma que tipo de desastre ha ocurrido, queda a interpretación del espectador, esto puede ser algo positivo en otras películas darle más participación a los amantes de las películas para que vayan armando un rompecabezas en la trama, sin embargo, en esta película en lo particular pienso que es un punto negativo.
El desastre empieza en la costa de california con aparente movimiento sísmico, esto puede ser causado por un megaterremoto, sin embargo, debemos tener en cuenta varias pistas que se encuentran en la película en referencia a un cambio de lugar de los polos magnéticos de la tierra, eso explicaría una brújula cuya ajuga da vueltas y la aurora boreal en lugares donde no debería aparecer, además explicaría el gran apagón debido a que la tierra es susceptible a las tormenta solares y a un calor más intenso en todo el planeta, lo que puede explicar los incendios y las altas temperaturas. Los terremotos sería una consecuencia de este tipo de cambio posiblemente porque el problema puede estar en el núcleo de la tierra, sin embargo, esto no es explicado ni muy detallado en la película.

La película se centra específicamente en el viaje de ambos protagonistas en búsqueda de Samantha, ciertamente hay algo de acción sin embargo esperaba más, creo que para ser una película de un desastre como se muestra claramente en el tráiler la trama y el desarrollo de la película parece lejana, en lo particular este aspecto me decepciona debido a que el tráiler me muestra otro tipo de desarrollo en la producción cinematográfica.
El Final (otro Spoiler)
Tengo que decir que la escena del tráiler que más me llamó la atención es la gran nube de polvo y roca detrás del auto, esperaba más escenas como estas, sin embargo, esa es la escena del final. Mi sorpresa es significativa al notar este aspecto sobre la película, la escena que en lo particular esperaba ver estaba enmarcada en un final que en lo particular es uno de los peores para las películas del 2018, definitivamente otro punto negativo para esta película.
Experiencia
Recuerdo que vi esta película con mi suegro y un cuñado en una visita que nos hicieron, decidimos prender el televisor y desvelarnos para ver How It Ends, ya nuestras esposas estaban durmiendo, al terminar de ver la película los tres nos miramos la cara y sacamos la misma conclusión, era preferible irse a dormir, nos pareció que perdimos ese valioso tiempo y que pudimos haber visto otra película, veníamos de ver varias películas muy buenas en la semana, pero claro no siempre se tiene una racha perfecta, de vez en cuando nos encontramos con ciertas películas que no nos agradan tanto, How It Ends es un ejemplo claro para mí.
Todos tenemos gustos distintos, existe un refrán bastante famoso que dice cada cabeza es un mundo, así que es válido que a muchas personas les parezca esta película como buena o excelente, eso lo respeto completamente, incluso si hay alguien que le haya gustado la película es bienvenido a escribir y dar su opinión en los comentarios, es bueno ver las cosas desde diferentes perspectivas.
En resumen la calificación que le he dado a esta película que la podemos ver en la plataforma de Netflix es de 2.0/10

I usually write about movies that I think are good or at least entertaining, I have never done a review that is negative, however, today I am stepping out of that comfort zone to comment and give my opinion about a movie that I personally did not like. It is called How It Ends, el final del todo in Spanish.
This movie was released on the Netflix platform in 2018, directed by David M. Rosenthal, the cast stars Theo James and Forest Whitaker. I have seen works of Theo James, as in the divergent saga and other productions, however, the movies where Forest Whitaker acts are synonymous with good adventures and lots of action, the truth this actor performs very good roles in different movies.
Synopsis:
Will and Samantha are about to have a child, Will takes a plane trip from Seattle to Chicago to ask for his girlfriend's hand, however, Sam's strict father is a tough nut to crack and complicates things for Will. On a call, a loud noise is heard at the same time that half the country is without power. A great disaster occurs at the other end of the country, Will and Sam's father travel by car to try to rescue Sam, on the way they will find different difficulties in a post-apocalyptic environment.
In particular I like natural disaster movies, I like to see the special effects as they develop within the plot, it seems to me a type of film quite accepted in the world of cinema, when I saw the trailer it caught my attention that one of the protagonists is Forest Whitaker, inside my head I argued that this actor does not star in films with bad reception, the truth I was wrong with this film production.
In addition to a decent cast, I was curious about the trailer of this movie showing a variety of scenes with good special effects. Scenes of devastation in cities and relentless storms, but above all I was quite curious about a scene that is seen in the trailer where they drive in a Jeep and behind a large cloud of dust and rock similar to a volcanic eruption, this reminded me of several great natural disaster movies where a large volcano erupts.
The trailer and cast are enticing enough to wrap the viewer up and use the subscription on Netflix to watch this movie. Also if the viewer is a lover of action and natural disaster movies they will be convinced to watch this movie.

This rating is clearly negative, the main reason for a low or negative rating is that the advertising or the trailer generates a great expectation in the viewer, however, these expectations are not fulfilled in the whole movie, for a fan of natural disaster movies and special effects this movie will seem very slow and tedious.
A disaster
In this film a great disaster occurs, however, at no time is it confirmed what kind of disaster has occurred, it is left to the interpretation of the viewer, this can be a positive thing in other films to give more participation to movie lovers so that they can put together a puzzle in the plot, however, in this film in particular I think it is a negative point.
The disaster begins on the coast of California with apparent seismic movement, this may be caused by a mega earthquake, however, we must take into account several clues that are found in the film in reference to a change of place of the magnetic poles of the earth, that would explain a compass whose axis turns and the aurora borealis in places where it should not appear, it would also explain the big blackout because the earth is susceptible to solar storms and more intense heat across the planet, which may explain the fires and high temperatures. Earthquakes would be a consequence of this type of change possibly because the problem may be in the earth's core, however, this is not explained or very detailed in the film.

The movie focuses specifically on the journey of both protagonists in search of Samantha, certainly there is some action however I was expecting more, I think for a disaster movie as clearly shown in the trailer the plot and development of the movie seems far off, in particular this aspect disappoints me due to the trailer showing me another type of development in film production.

I have to say that the scene in the trailer that caught my attention the most is the big cloud of dust and rock behind the car, I was expecting more scenes like this, however, that is the scene at the end. My surprise is significant when noticing this aspect about the movie, the scene that I particularly expected to see was framed in an ending that in particular is one of the worst for 2018 movies, definitely another negative point for this movie.
Experience
I remember watching this movie with my father-in-law and a brother-in-law on a visit they made to us, we decided to turn on the TV and stay awake to watch How It Ends, our wives were already sleeping, when we finished watching the movie the three of us looked at each other's faces and drew the same conclusion, it was preferable to go to sleep, It seemed to us that we wasted that valuable time and that we could have seen another movie, we had just seen several very good movies during the week, but of course you don't always have a perfect streak, from time to time we find certain movies that we don't like so much, How It Ends is a clear example for me.
We all have different tastes, there is a quite famous saying that every head is a world, so it is valid that many people find this movie as good or excellent, I respect that completely, even if there is someone who liked the movie is welcome to write and give their opinion in the comments, it is good to see things from different perspectives.
