Hola Hivers amantes de las películas y series, en esta ocasión deseo compartir con todos ustedes una reseña de una antología de cortometrajes, es una de esas producciones que venían ya desde hace años dando de que hablar por las buenas historias que podemos disfrutar, hace poco se ha estrenado en Netflix la tercera temporada de Love Death & Robots agregando nueve capítulos animados más a esta lista de historias de ciencia ficción.
Anteriormente, realicé un video reseñando las dos primeras temporadas de esta serie que me pareció fenomenal. Me agradan las historias cortas, estas deben desenvolverse para que el espectador conozca el contexto y capte el mensaje rápidamente sobre la marcha, así como en los relatos cortos, el recurso literario de este tipo de producciones es llevado al límite a por guionistas para dar esencia propia a cada historia y así llevar al espectador a diferentes escenarios muy bien trabajados a lo largo de los capítulos.
La complejidad de desarrollar toda una historia en menos de 15 minutos es abrumadora, más si se introduce un mensaje inherente sobre la raza humana, su comportamiento y su naturaleza destructiva, esto es un condimento que sin dudas atrae muchas miradas y que en mi caso es lo que le otorga un sabor especial a este tipo de historias.
Ciencia Ficción & Futuro Distópico
Una de las características centrales de las animaciones es llevar al espectador a un futuro en donde normalmente nuestra raza debe luchar por su existencia (si es que aún existe), llevar la naturaleza destructiva del ser humano hasta miles de años en el futuro puede ser algo que solo puede ser sustentado con la imaginación, sin embargo, se resalta la misma naturaleza y egoísmo que posee nuestra sociedad hoy en día, de allí el futuro distópico toma gran fuerza dentro de estos cortometrajes, donde se pueden encajar algunas preguntas inherentes a nuestra manera de percibir y de reaccionar ante la vida con sus diferentes circunstancias.
¿Qué es capaz el humano de hacer para mantener su raza con vida?
¿Su naturaleza permite el sacrificio propio para evitar tragedias para miles de sus semejantes?
¿Es capaz de aprovecharse de otras especies solamente por egoísmo?
¿Cuál es el factor fundamental que necesita una persona de esta en la actualidad para sobrevivir un evento apocalíptico?
Estas son preguntas que sutilmente se van abordando en toda la serie, a lo largo de estos nuevos capítulos de la tercera temporada, continuando con el enfoque de las temporadas anteriores, aunque enfatizando un poco más el egoísmo natural del ser humano y por supuesto, su consecuencia.
Antología
Como en todas antología hay historias que apreciamos más que otras, aunque cada una posee una esencia propia y un desenvolvimiento bastante correcto, los temas y el contexto en el que se estructuran son bastante diferentes, así que es simple cuestión de perspectiva y de gusto propio de los espectadores realzar el capítulo que más les cause emociones.
En lo particular, disfruto de los capítulos con una crítica social marcada, que se desarrolla en un contexto futurista o fantasioso, pero haciendo sobresalir referencias sobre la sociedad actual, abordando el comportamiento y a la toma de decisiones de sus personajes ante la adversidad.
Mi Capítulo Preferido: Mal Viaje
En lo personal, el capítulo número 2 ha sido para mí el mejor de esta temporada, maneja diversas características que me agradan, además de ser una historia muy fácil de comprender y que seguramente queda en la memoria de los espectadores debido a su desenvolvimiento y mensaje.
A primera vista este capítulo es diferente a los demás, saliéndose de un futuro lleno de tecnología, todo lo contrario, parece como si el futuro hiciera retroceder en el tiempo en cuanto a aspectos tecnológicos, en este caso un barco que se navega observando las estrellas ¿dónde quedó la tecnología?, nadie nos garantiza que nuestros complejos aparatos sobrevivan ante un evento catastrófico en el futuro.
Este capítulo a mi parecer tiene el mejor terror de la tercera temporada, este se combina muy bien con una animación con cierto realismo. Es una historia terrorífica que hace despertar el instinto de supervivencia de sus personajes, pero que fácilmente traspasa la pantalla y llega al espectador en forma de pregunta ¿Qué haría yo?, ya que nos introduce en una situación moralmente compleja, decidiendo sobre la posibilidad de sacrificarse para evitar una catástrofe de grandes proporciones.
Sin dudas este capítulo lleva el mejor desenvolvimiento, el mejor grupo de personajes con una dosis de duro realismo en cuanto al egoísmo de nuestra naturaleza. Un desarrollo interesante, debido a que se sobrepone la inteligencia ante la fuerza bruta de una manera clara y determinante. Realmente es un magnífico y muy completo capítulo, para mí el mejor de esta temporada y de los mejores en Love Death & Robots.
El Peor Capítulo: La Noche de los Mini Muertos
Creo que este es el peor, ya que es una simple consecución de escenas de un evento que hemos visto un sinfín de veces, un apocalipsis zombi entremezclado con sátira y humor negro, un desarrollo demasiado simple y plano para lo que hemos visto a lo largo de tres temporadas de Love, Death & Robots, aunque solo es una apreciación personal y puede que a otros les parezca mejor de lo que yo lo percibo.
Tipos de Animación
Al igual que las otras temporadas la animación en cada capítulo es diferente y pueden llegar a tener un realismo impresionante como un Stop Motion, desde mi perspectiva esto es positivo, ya que se genera expectativa sobre la animación del siguiente capítulo hasta llegar al final, por supuesto, la apreciación irá ligada al gusto de cada quien, sin embargo, la calidad de estas animaciones no es discutible, ya qué es un trabajo muy bien realizado.

Opinión Final
Es evidente que algunos capítulos son mejores que otros, sin embargo, este conjunto de historias es bastante entretenida, una antología que en lo particular he disfrutado a lo largo de tres temporadas, con muchas agradables sorpresas y algunas pocas decepciones.
Lo que más me agrada es llevar la imaginación al límite en un futuro distópico, sobre todo, con referencias que observamos en nuestra época, ¿Nuestra propia naturaleza puede llevarnos a la extinción?, es una pregunta que cuya respuesta esperemos no saberla muy pronto, sin embargo, todo este contexto y autocrítica me parece siempre una buena base para películas, series y cortometrajes.
¿La Recomiendo?
Sí, es una antología con capítulos cortos, buenas historias que son bastante entretenidas, si te agrada así como a mí la ciencia ficción en combinación con un entorno distópico es una producción a tener en cuenta. Se disfruta de este tipo de arte en historias de poco más de 10 minutos. Definitivamente, la recomiendo abiertamente, sé que muchos lograrán disfrutar esta antología al igual que yo, en este caso, hago referencia a todas las temporadas de Love Death & Robots.

Hello Hivers movie and series lovers, this time I want to share with all of you a review of an anthology of short films, it is one of those productions that have been making people talk for years because of the good stories we can enjoy, recently the third season of Love Death & Robots has been released on Netflix adding nine more animated chapters to this list of science fiction stories.
Previously, I did a video review of the first two seasons of this series which I thought was phenomenal. I like short stories, these must be developed so that the viewer knows the context and grasp the message quickly on the fly, as well as in short stories, the literary resource of this type of productions is taken to the limit by screenwriters to give each story its own essence and thus take the viewer to different scenarios very well worked throughout the chapters.
The complexity of developing a whole story in less than 15 minutes is overwhelming, especially if an inherent message about the human race, its behavior and destructive nature is introduced, this is a condiment that undoubtedly attracts many looks and that in my case is what gives a special flavor to this type of stories.
Science Fiction & Dystopian Future
One of the central characteristics of the animations is to take the viewer to a future where normally our race must fight for its existence (if it still exists), taking the destructive nature of the human being to thousands of years in the future can be something that can only be sustained with imagination, however, it highlights the same nature and selfishness that our society has today, hence the dystopian future takes great strength within these short films, where you can fit some questions inherent in our way of perceiving and reacting to life with its different circumstances.
What are humans capable of doing to keep their race alive?
Does his nature allow self-sacrifice to avoid tragedies for thousands of his fellows?
Is he capable of taking advantage of other species only out of selfishness?
What is the fundamental factor a person needs to survive an apocalyptic event?
These are questions that are subtly addressed throughout the series, throughout these new chapters of the third season, continuing with the approach of previous seasons, although emphasizing a little more the natural selfishness of human beings and of course, its consequence.
Anthology
As in every anthology there are stories that we appreciate more than others, although each one has its own essence and a quite correct development, the themes and the context in which they are structured are quite different, so it is simply a matter of perspective and the viewers' own taste to enhance the chapter that causes them more emotions.
In particular, I enjoy the chapters with a marked social criticism, which develops in a futuristic or fantasy context, but making references to the current society stand out, addressing the behavior and decision making of its characters in the face of adversity.
My Favorite Chapter: Bad Trip
Personally, chapter number 2 has been for me the best of this season, it manages several characteristics that I like, besides being a story very easy to understand and that surely remains in the memory of the viewers due to its development and message.
At first glance this chapter is different from the others, leaving a future full of technology, on the contrary, it seems as if the future made us go back in time in terms of technological aspects, in this case a ship that sails observing the stars, where is the technology, no one guarantees that our complex devices survive a catastrophic event in the future.
This chapter in my opinion has the best terror of the third season, this is combined very well with an animation with some realism. It is a terrifying story that awakens the survival instinct of its characters, but that easily goes beyond the screen and reaches the viewer in the form of the question "What would I do?", since it introduces us to a morally complex situation, deciding on the possibility of sacrificing oneself to avoid a catastrophe of great proportions.
Undoubtedly this chapter has the best development, the best group of characters with a dose of hard realism regarding the selfishness of our nature. An interesting development, due to the fact that intelligence overcomes brute force in a clear and decisive way. It really is a magnificent and very complete chapter, for me the best of this season and one of the best in Love Death & Robots.
The Worst Chapter: The Night of the Mini Dead
I think this is the worst, as it is a simple achievement of scenes of an event that we have seen countless times, a zombie apocalypse interspersed with satire and black humor, a development too simple and flat for what we have seen over three seasons of Love, Death & Robots, although it is only a personal assessment and others may find it better than I perceive it.
Types of Animation
Like the other seasons, the animation in each chapter is different and can have an impressive realism like a Stop Motion, from my perspective this is positive, since it generates expectation about the animation of the next chapter until the end, of course, the appreciation will be linked to the taste of each person, however, the quality of these animations is not debatable, since it is a very well done work.

Final Opinion
It is evident that some chapters are better than others, however, this set of stories is quite entertaining, an anthology that in particular I have enjoyed over three seasons, with many pleasant surprises and a few disappointments.
What pleases me the most is to take the imagination to the limit in a dystopian future, especially with references that we observe in our time, can our own nature lead us to extinction, is a question whose answer hopefully we will not know very soon, however, all this context and self-criticism always seems to me a good basis for films, series and short films.
Do I recommend it?
Yes, it is an anthology with short chapters, good stories that are quite entertaining, if you like science fiction in combination with a dystopian environment as I do, it is a production to consider. You enjoy this type of art in stories of little more than 10 minutes. Definitely, I recommend it openly, I know that many will manage to enjoy this anthology as I do, in this case, I refer to all seasons of Love Death & Robots.
