After seeing very commercial productions, I started looking for something new and more in line with my dark side and was lucky enough to stumble upon a film of the type of productions I like: low-budget, independent horror genre films.

Bloodthirsty is a Canadian film produced by Voice Pictures and 775 Media Corp. I selected it without knowing much about the story it told, I didn't see the trailer, I just set out to watch it.Was I hooked? Yes.
The film was interesting enough to keep me interested in this intimate and strange story about lycanthropes, different from many of the offerings in this sub-genre of horror.
Don't expect to see great special effects or an impressive technical display. This is not a film from a big Hollywood studio. The work done and the way they used the resources available to create a story about werewolves and werewomen were creative. If you follow my reviews, you know I have a preference for films made with effort and little money. In this film it's all about the story.
Who is the director?
Moses is the young Canadian filmmaker directing this intimate work about lycanthropes. According to her IMDB profile she has experience in several short films and a TV series, mostly in the horror genre. The filmmaker has another film called Bleed with Me and has received many positive professional reviews. I want to see that film. I liked Bloodthirsty and want to see more of the filmmaker's work.

What is the plot of Bloodthirsty?
Grey Kessler is a young singer who has had success with her first album. He lives with his girlfriend Charlie, who is a painter. Grey is currently suffering from constant nightmares and hallucinations, so she turns to Dr. Swan for medication to help her overcome these visions and ugly dreams. Grey has grown up in an orphanage and has achieved success through hard work. Now, she is under pressure to make a second album to solidify her music career. Vaughn Daniels, a famous producer chooses her to work with her to produce her new album. The music is very important within the story and is a factor that stands out very well in the film.
The artist Lowell is in charge of the film's music. She is a Canadian singer, songwriter and music producer. One of her songs was used for the soundtrack of the video game Fifa 2015.
For her work on this film she has been nominated for a Canadian Screen Award this year. The nominations are for best soundtrack and best original song. The ceremony and awards ceremony will take place between May 17 and 20 and it has a chance to win it because the music is beautiful.

La música es muy importante dentro de la historia, no solo porque el personaje protagonista sea cantante. Es que el film se destaca en el apartado musical.
La artista Lowell es la encargada de la música del film. Ella es una cantante, compositora y productora musical canadiense con una exitosa trayectoria. Una de sus canciones fue usada para la banda sonora del video juego Fifa 2015.
Por su trabajo en este film recibió nominaciones a los Canadian Screen Award de este año. Las nominaciones son como Mejor banda sonora y mejor canción original. La ceremonia y entrega de premios se llevara a cabo entre el 17 y 20 de Mayo y tiene posibilidades de ganarlo porque la música es hermosa.

Lauren Beatty plays Grey Kessler, the singer with nightmares who wants her second album to be a hit. readers of my reviews and who know my strange tastes, I liked this indie film, but you may have a different perception of the film. It's not a movie with big horror scenes, it's disturbing, it takes its time for the main character to develop and the inevitable happens.
Bloodthirsty is an interesting take on the horror genre, if you're looking for something different than anything else currently on the billboard, you'll like the film. If superheroes and fast pacing are your thing, this movie is not for you.

Para los lectores de mis reseñas y que conocen mis gustos extraños, este film independiente me ha gustado, pero quizás ustedes tengan otra percepción diferente del film. No es una película con grandes escenas de horror, es perturbadora, se toma su tiempo para que el personaje principal se desarrolle y ocurra lo inevitable.
Bloodthirsty es una interesante propuesta del género de terror, si buscas algo diferente a todo lo que se ve actualmente en la cartelera cinematográfica,la película te gustara. Si lo tuyo es super heores y ritmos trepidantes, este film no es para ti.
