Ok, esto es nuevo por este blog pero aún así tengo ganas de llevarlo a cabo porque soy un gran fanático de las series, creo que hasta más que de las películas y voy a empezar con tres series que realmente considero que todo el mundo debería de ver. También esto nace de la necesidad de traer cosas nuevas al blog para de esa forma crear diversidad y que el contenido sea más variado.
Ok, this is new for this blog but still I want to carry it out because I am a big fan of series, I think even more than movies and I am going to start with three series that I really think that everyone should watch. This is also born of the need to bring new things to the blog in order to create diversity and that the content is more varied.
Esta primera serie es "The Handmaids Tale" o el Cuento de la Criada en español. Es una serie que realmente te marca por completo por lo profunda e intensa que es. Toca temas muy delicados que van un poco acordes con el mundo en el que vivimos en lo que a derechos de la mujer y homofobia se refiere.
This first series is "The Handmaids Tale" or El Cuento de la Criada in Spanish. It is a series that really marks you completely because of how deep and intense it is. It touches on very delicate topics that are a little in line with the world we live in when it comes to women's rights and homophobia.

Esta historia primero que nada está basada en una novela de una escritora canadiense, Margaret Atwood, publicada en el año 1985. Esto comienza en un futuro utópico donde Estados Unidos, como el país que conocemos, cae como nación por una guerra civil que se originó por la baja tasa de natalidad producto de la alta contaminación. En consecuencia se instaura un estado profundamente autoritario y con unas raíces religiosas muy fuertes llamado "GILEAD".
This story is first of all based on a novel by a Canadian writer, Margaret Atwood, published in 1985. This begins in a utopian future where the United States, as the country we know, falls as a nation by a civil war that originated due to the low birth rate as a result of high pollution. Consequently, a deeply authoritarian state with very strong religious roots called "GILEAD" is established.
Lo terrible de este lugar es que en él las mujeres son simples objetos, no tienen ningún tipo de derechos. Existen dentro de este esquema absurdo varios niveles: las mujeres estériles son las llamadas "Marthas" y ellas solo son sirvientas, ese es su único trabajo; ahora si eres de las pocas mujeres que aún eres fértil te llaman "Handmaid", te entrenarán y educarán para que seas capaz en un futuro de aceptar ser violada por los hombres jefes de Gilead para que de esa forma empezar a poblar el país de nuevo.
The terrible thing about this place is that in it women are mere objects, they don't have any kind of rights. Within this absurd scheme, there are several levels: the sterile women are called "Marthas" and they are only servants, that is their only job; Now if you are one of the few women who are still fertile they call you "Handmaid", they will train and educate you so that in the future you will be able to accept being raped by the male heads of Gilead so that in that way you can start to populate the country again.

Elisabeth Moss, la protagonista, es la estrella de esta serie que bajo el nombre de June, una "handmaid" es separada de su familia mientras intentaban escapar. Al ser capturada la nombran "Offred", esto porque así se llama su "dueño" el nefasto comandante Fred Waterford quien todas las noches la viola producto de un ritual religioso.
Elisabeth Moss, the protagonist, is the star of this series that under the name of June, a "handmaid" is separated from her family while trying to escape. Honestamente ver cada capitulo de esta serie me genera una gran cantidad de sentimientos que van desde la ira, impotencia hasta llegar a la esperanza. Este último es porque a pesar de la terrible situación en la que viven las mujeres de Gilead nunca pierden la fe de que en el algún momento las cosas puedan cambiar. Y eso es lo increíble de esa serie, la montaña rusa de emociones que en un solo capitulo es capaz de transmitir.
Honestly, watching each episode of this series generates a lot of feelings in me that range from anger, helplessness to hope. The latter is because despite the terrible situation in which the women of Gilead live they never lose faith that at some point things can change. And that is the incredible thing about that series, the roller coaster of emotions that in a single chapter it is capable of transmitting.

Todo en esta serie es exquisito, la narración, guion, manejo de personajes, la fotografía, puesta en escena, etc. Es de esas joyas que mucha gente no ve porque no es tan conocida como yo quisiera que lo fuera.

Es por eso que siempre le digo a todos que si pueden ver esta serie la vean para que entiendan que en cualquier momento estas situaciones pueden suceder.

Esta serie la pueden ver a través del servicio de streaming de HULU, actualmente llega hasta una tercera temporada pero esperando la cuarta próxima a estrenarse en el transcurso de este año 2021.
