Hello internet friends! How are you? Today I would like to talk to you about one of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid, it's about Hey Arnold! one of the most emblematic cartoons of the Nickelodeon network in the 90's, without further ado, let's start!
¡Hola amigos de internet! ¿Como están? Hoy me gustaría hablarles sobre una de mis caricaturas favoritas cuando era una niña, se trata de ¡Oye Arnold! una de los dibujos animados más emblemáticos de la cadena Nickelodeon en la época de los 90, sin más dilación ¡empecemos!.
When I was little I remember spending many hours watching cartoons on Nickelodeon like "Rocko's Modern Life", "Rugrats", "As Told By Ginger", "CatDog" among others. I remember my favorite was "Hey Arnold!", I really liked the adventures of the "football head" and his friends.
Cuando era pequeña recuerdo que pasaba muchas horas viendo caricaturas, en Nickelodeon veía algunas como "Rocko's Modern Life", "Rugrats", "As Told By Ginger", "CatDog" entre otras. Recuerdo que mi favorita era "Hey Arnold!", me gustaban mucho las aventuras del "cabeza de balón" y sus amigos.
Hey Arnold! is an animated series created by Craig Bartlett and launched in 1996 by Nickelodeon, with 100 episodes divided into 6 seasons and aired until 2004. The series is about the adventures of a boy named Arnold who lives with his grandparents in a boarding house. His parents disappeared when he was just a baby so he grew up in the care of his grandparents.
Hey Arnold! es una serie animada creada por Craig Bartlett y lanzada en 1996 por Nickelodeon, cuenta con 100 episodios divididos en 6 temporadas y estuvo al aire hasta el 2004. La serie trata sobre las aventuras de un niño llamado Arnold el cual vive con sus abuelos en una casa de huéspedes. Sus padres desaparecieron cuando el era sólo un bebé asi que creció al cuidado de sus abuelos.
His best friend is Gerald Johanssen, who attends the same school as him (public 118) and the same class (fourth grade), as well as Helga G. Pataki the girl who makes his life impossible to hide that she is really in love with him, other notable characters are his classmates Phoebe, Harold, Rhonda, Sid, Stinky, Lila, Eugene and Curly, his teacher Mr. Simmons and his grandparents Phil and Gertie among others.
Su mejor amigo es Gerald Johanssen, el cual asiste a la misma escuela que él (la pública 118) y a la misma clase (cuarto año de primaria), al igual que Helga G. Pataki la niña que le hace la vida imposible para ocultar que realmente está enamorada de él, otros personajes notables son los de sus compañeros de clase Phoebe, Harold, Rhonda, Sid, Stinky, Lila, Eugene y Curly, su maestro el Sr Simmons y sus abuelos Phil y Gertie entre otros.
My favorite cartoon for several reasons, I really liked quite a few episodes and the characters especially Helga, I like her way of expressing her love for Arnold, because although she acts in a cold and violent way for him, she likes to help him many times anonymously and has always shown loyalty to him and I think that deep down he knows he can count on her, I also really like her taste for poetry and art and I didn't like that her parents didn't value her as she deserved. In my opinion she was the most intelligent of her class and also in my opinion the one who showed the most emotions.
Mi caricatura favorita por varios motivos, me gustaron mucho bastantes episodios y los personajes en especial el de Helga, me gusta su manera de expresar su amor por Arnold, ya que aunque actúa de manera fría y violenta por él, le gusta ayudarlo muchas veces anónimamente y siempre ha mostrado lealtad hacía él y creo que el en el fondo sabe que puede contar con ella, también me gusta mucho su gusto por la poesía y el arte y no me gustaba que sus padres no la valoraran como merecía. A mi parecer era la más inteligente de su clase y también a mi parecer la que mas emociones mostraba.
As I mentioned before I liked many episodes of the series, but I remember my favorites being "Helga Goes to the Psychiatrist" and "Arnold's Halloween". The Halloween one I really liked because it was inspired by Orson Welles' War of the Worlds and the other one I really like because it shows a lot of things about Helga's feelings towards Arnold, as well as showing how the characters were as babies and how she fell in love with Arnold.
Como mencioné antes me gustaron muchos episodios de la serie, pero recuerdo que mis favoritos son "Helga va al psiquiatra" y "El Halloween de Arnold". El de halloween me gustó mucho porque está inspirado en La Guerra de los Mundos de Orson Welles y el otro me gusta mucho porque se muestra muchas cosas sobre los sentimientos de Helga hacia Arnold así como también muestran como eran los personajes desde bebés y como ella se enamoró de Arnold.
In 2004, a movie was released in theaters, in which Arnold and Gerald will do everything possible to save the neighborhood from being demolished to build a shopping mall. Helga anonymously tries to help Arnold and ends up confessing her feelings to him, though she later excuses herself saying it was just "the heat of the moment". In the end they manage to save the neighborhood by showing that it's a historical place.
En el 2004, una pelicula fué lanzada en cines, en la cual Arnold y Gerald harán todo lo posible para salvar el vecindario de ser demolido para construir un centro comercial. Helga anónimamente trata de ayudar a Arnold y termina confesándole sus sentimientos, aunque luego se excusa diciendo que fué sólo "el calor del momento". Al final logran salvar el vecindario al demostrar que es un lugar histórico.
When the serie was canceled it I felt disappointed because in my opinion it was unfairly cancelled, for me it was one of the best that was broadcast in the 90s, Thirteen years later in 2017 it made me very happy that they finally decided to release a new movie this time for television to conclude the series (although they do not rule out a sixth season in the future) called "Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie". I was looking forward to it as I didn't like that the series ended unfinished and finally got a well-deserved ending. It's about the trip that Arnold makes with his class to San Lorenzo to investigate what happened to his parents, during the trip it is discovered that his parents have a "sleeping sickness" for a long time . In the end they manage to wake up their parents and they all return home. I liked that Helga finally confessed her feelings for Arnold and hers reciprocated.
Cuando la serie fué cancelada me sentí decepcionada porque en mi opinión fué injustamente cancelada, para mi fué de las mejores que se transmitieron en los 90, Trece años después en el 2017 me puso muy contenta que finalmente decidieran sacar una nueva pelicula esta vez para para televisión para concluir la serie (aunque no descartan una sexta temporada en un futuro) llamada "Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie". La esperé con ansias ya que no me gustó que la serie terminara inconclusa y finalmente le hayan dado un muy merecido final. Trata sobre el viaje que hace Arnold junto a los de su clase a San Lorenzo para investigar que les pasó a sus padres, durante el viaje se descubre que sus padres tienen una "enfermedad del sueño" desde hace mucho tiempo. Al final logran despertar a sus padres y regresan todos a casa. Me gustó que finalmente Helga confesó sus sentimientos por Arnold y el le correspondiera.
I also really liked the quality of animation and the originality of characters and plot, each chapter has a very entertained story and I would like them to broadcast it again, nowadays Nickelodeon's programming has dropped quite a bit (I only like cartoons like The Loud House , the revival of Rugrats and the SpongeBob ones) and there is a lack of cartoons like the ones before that were much more entertained, I look forward to a sixth season in the future.
También me gustó mucho la calidad de animación y la originalidad de personajes y trama, cada capitulo tiene una historia muy entretenida y me gustaría que volvieran a transmitirla, hoy en dia la programación de nickelodeon a decaído bastante (solo me gustan caricaturas como The Loud House, el revival de Rugrats y las de Bob Esponja) y hacen falta caricaturas como las de antes que eran mucho más entretenidas, espero con ansias una sexta temporada en el futuro.
