Mañana comienza diciembre y aunque tradicionalmente es un mes de celebración, algunas personas tenemos costumbres un poco más tranquilas como por ejemplo ver películas en navidad, estas cosas nos mantiene en casa lejos de un poco de las ruidosas compras y de los fuegos artificiales, ver películas es una forma entretenida de esperar el fin de año por ejemplo, a mi me gusta bastante porque por muchos años era la que cuidaba la casa con mi difunto padre cuando mi hermana y mi mamá se iban a celebrar la navidad o el fin de año con mi familia materna, generalmente prefiero las películas de drama en cualquier época del año, pero en diciembre prefiero ver casi cualquier película siempre que me entretenga puedo ver hasta comedias románticas, es decir, trato de ver películas que no me pongan más emocional de lo normal.

El extraño mundo de Jack. Pesadilla antes de Navidad - Nightmare Before Christmas
El halloween es una de mis fiestas favoritas, así que cuando salió la película pesadilla antes de navidad y el protagonista era un cabeza de nabo que de cierta forma quería robarse la navidad y convertirla en la fiesta tradicional de su pueblo donde solo se celebraba halloween, me pareció una idea encantadora, Tim Burton es el creador de esta película de 1993, por lo que las figuras realizadas para la filmación en stop motion son toda una obra de arte, además del aspecto estético de dicha película me gusta mucho la historia, tal como Jack (el protagonista), la mayoría de las personas nos aburrimos de las tradiciones de nuestro pueblo en algún momento y siempre vemos con más interés las tradiciones de otro, actualmente vivimos es un mundo completamente globalizado, donde la navidad la celebran incluso los personas no creyentes como yo, además las vacaciones navideñas son una bocanada de aire fresco para aquellas personas que trabajan con fuertes jornada y horarios muy ajustados hasta el fin de año, por lo que celebrar navidad es bueno de todas formas.
La mayoría de personas de diferentes culturas tiene a mezclar elementos de su cultura originaria con otros del mundo, además la mente humana tiende de a actuar casi siempre de la misma forma frente a circunstancias especificas, ejemplo de esto es Jack de cierto modo envidiaba los aspectos positivos de la navidad, Jack tenía buena voluntad no obstante su pueblo distorsionó parte del concepto que se refiere a esta y termina poniendo en riesgo dicha celebración, al final Jack tiene una especie de redención donde a pesar de admirar la navidad del otro pueblo empezó a valorar los aspectos propio de su pueblo y su gente, ya no se sintió aburrido de sus tradiciones de halloween sino que tuvo la motivación para seguir celebrando aun con mucha más entusiasmo cada año, creo que este mensaje es muy importante para todas las personas que no valoran mucho lo que tienen por estar viendo lo de los demás como mejor.

Esta película me parece que está dentro del rango de comedia romántica, lo que cual me da cierta vergüenza, pero me lo tomo con buenos humor, es decir, cualquiera me ve y no piensa que me podría gustar algo así, pero esta película me parece tan encantadora y graciosa, se estrenó en 2006 y la trama trata sobre un mujer que es empleada en un tienda, ella ha estado ahorrando dinero porque sueña algún día retirarse y poner un restaurant, es como un sueño difícil de cumplir pero que espera que con trabajo duro algún día se pueda alcanzar, lamentablemente gracias a un chequeo en su cerebro, un médico observa una enfermad incurable que le daba ella apenas unas semanas de vida siendo optimistas, esta noticia le causa un gran choque emocional a la mujer protagonizada por la siempre brillante Queen Latifah. La mujer decide mirar al frente, no preocuparse ni llorar más por su enfermedad y darse sus últimas vacaciones, renuncia a su trabajo, a sus sueños y saca todos sus ahorros para gastarlos en un viaje a Europa porque desea morir siendo feliz por última vez.
Por otro lado, a nivel personal apenas ayer me llamó un amigo quien estaba preocupado por al salud de mi hijo, entre la conversación mencionó que una compañera que estudió con nosotros en la univerdad había muerto el día anterior, es decir este fin de semana pasado, la noticia me hizo sentir muy triste, recordé completamente las expresiones del rostro de antigua compañera de estudios, ella tenía casi mi edad y amigo me acababa de decir que ella murió a causa de un tumor o algo en su cerebro que nunca había sido detectado, inmediatamente recordé esta película, siempre me gusta verla en navidad, pero ahora siento un tipo de contradicción emocional, es decir, apenas con treinta y tantos años o incluso alguien más joven puede morir súbitamente debido a una enfermedad en su cerebro sin ni siquiera tener algún aviso, creo que la protagonista de la película al menos tuvo unas semana para decidir en que circunstancias esperar el trágico final, pero la mayoría de las personas vivimos planeado el futuro con tanto empeño que nos olvidamos de disfrutar el presente, yo espero que mi antigua compañera de universidad a quien vi casi a diario por 5 años, haya disfrutado su vida, sé que la película muestra un bonito mensaje, pero la realidad es que no todos tiene una oportunidad como su protagonista, creo que es importante que cada quien disfrute todos sus días de vida con mucha fuerza porque nunca sabemos cómo ni cuándo va acabar.

El gran pez - The big fish
Otra de Tim Burton si lo sé jejeje, pero es que me gustan las buenas y raras historias, el gran pez es una historia donde se cuentas historias, en otro post y en otras comandites he mencionado que me gusta mucho la narrativa breve, es decir los cuentos y fábulas, uno de mis libros favoritos es Tío tigre y tío conejo de Antonio Arraiz solo por mencionar un ejemplo, así que los cuentos me emocionan mucho, las fantasía ligada con la realidad pero en una historia que parece más bien un anécdota, esta película es como si fuera todo eso, cuando la veo siento que es como si todas las imágenes que crea mi mente al leer un cuento se volvieran realidad.
La historia trata sobre un señor que ya está muriendo, su hijo tiene una relación distante con él, esto se debe a que el padre ama contar historia, lo que ha hecho que su hijo crezca con el resentimiento de no saber que parte de esas historias es verdad y cual es fantasía, es así como se cuestiona como toda su historia familiar puede ser solo un invento fantástico de su padre, la película narra los hechos contados por el señor moribundo, cómo conoció al su esposa y lucho por su amor hasta el final, es decir, su vida tuvo increíbles momentos.
El hijo al final se da cuenta que todas esas historias que contaba su padre era vedad solo porque las contaba su padre, es decir, las personas estamos tan acostumbrados a realidad que bloqueamos los recuerdos, contando la historia familiar en forma de cuento es convertir los recuerdos en experiencias inolvidables, esta película me hace pensar mucho en todos los cuentos que me contaba mi difunto papá sobre su vida en el campo, mi papá murió de 86 años y al final de su vida sufrió demencia senil, una de las cosas que comenzamos a notar con el inicio de su enfermedad es que contaba siempre los mismo cuentos una y otra vez, sin darse cuenta que ya los había dicho, al principio yo no entendía por qué él contaba siempre lo mismo, pero después me di cuenta lo importante que es narrar las historias y como para un señor mayor que empieza a olvidar hasta donde deja las llaves, poder recordar todos esos momentos del pasado es muy importante, por eso valoro la película desde mi experiencia personal como una gran obra del cine para ver en navidad y en cualquier fecha.
