Empezamos dentro de una cueva en pensilvania, unos exploradores están martillando una pared delgada que se rompe casi que al contacto (muy delgada para parecer verdad), al romperla y hacer un hueco prominente en esa pared por el que podría pasar una persona, celebran y avisan en superficie que todo bien (por que celebran si solo rompieron una pared? no se), en ese momento de celebración se escucharon unos ruidos muy lejanos y esto los pone alerta hasta que sale un montón de aves espeluznantes que hieren de gravedad a los excavadores y todas estas aves salen a la superficie…
We start inside a cave in Pennsylvania, some explorers are hammering a thin wall that breaks almost on contact (too thin to seem true), when they break it and make a prominent hole in the wall through which a person could pass, they celebrate and warn on the surface that everything is fine (why celebrate if they only broke a wall? I don't know), at that moment of celebration they heard some very distant noises and this put them alert until a bunch of creepy birds came out and seriously wounded the diggers and all these birds came out to the surface...
Estamos junto a Ally saliendo del colegio y nos explica que hace un año perdió casi por completo la audición, que sus padres están muy impresionados de que ella se haya adaptado tan rápido, ya que de alguna forma puede percibir ahora su entorno más agudamente. Aunque detrás de ella se encuentran unos chicos burlándose de ella (muy ridículo que esto pase en la vida real), ella se da cuenta de esto por la gente que los está viendo así que solo se voltea, lo mira y se va caminando a casa (diva).

En una construcción conocemos a Hugh que es el padre de familia del núcleo familiar de Ally, discuten acerca de de unas reformas que hay que hacerle a la construcción pero no se encuentran a gusta Hugh y Glenn que parece ser el arquitecto, al salir del trailer glenn y Hugh hablan sobre cómo ya que son mejores amigos desde hace años, En ese momento la esposa de hugh, Kelly, lo llama para hacerle saber varias cosas y una de ellas era que una madre de un chico en la escuela vio a unos chicos burlarse de ally en la parada del bus, a lo que esté molesto se encuentra furioso pero lo controla, Glenn lo invita por unas cervezas pero lo rechaza para irse a su casa.
In a construction site we meet Hugh who is the father of Ally's family, they discuss about some renovations that need to be done to the building but they don't meet Hugh and Glenn who seems to be the architect, when leaving the trailer Glenn and Hugh talk about how since they have been best friends for years, At that moment hugh's wife Kelly calls him to let him know several things and one of them was that a mother of a boy at school saw some kids making fun of ally at the bus stop, to which he is upset he is furious but controls it, Glenn invites him for a few beers but he turns him down to go home.
Ally en el camino es alcanzada por Rob, que le tiene cierto modo amoroso y no lo disimula (un duro), hablan de camino a sus casas mediante lenguaje de señas ya que él ha estado aprendiendo para entablar mejor una conversación con ella, y le comenta que al día siguiente sus padres y el irán a ver autos y que la recogerá todos los días para ir al colegio, ella encantada porque fue una promesa que le hizo el. Rob queda en el camino y llegamos con ally a su casa, su hermanito Jude avisa de que ya llegó y el perro rottweiler (que es enorme) va a saludarla muy manso, saluda a su madre y a su abuela, Kelly le pregunta porque llega tan tarde pero ally lo minimiza diciendo que solo se fue caminando con rob y la madre se exalta y le hace bromas sobre si lo beso ya y ese tipo de cosas, aunque su abuela dice que seguramente ya lo beso (aunque su hermanito es más brusco y grita que es que ella quiere hacerlo con rob). Ally se va de la situación y ya.

Ally just walks away from the situation.
En la noche Ally ve por una abertura que deja la puerta del cuarto de sus padres y nota como parece que ellos tienen una conversación no muy amigable a pesar de que no puede escucharlos, y nos relata que hace un año ella perdió a sus abuelos y la audición en un accidente de auto pero cree que sus padres perdieron mucho mas, yéndose a su cuarto.
At night Ally looks through an opening in her parents' bedroom door and notices how they seem to be having an unfriendly conversation even though she can't hear them, and relates that a year ago she lost her grandparents and her hearing in a car accident but believes her parents lost much more, going to her room.
Entra su padre medio nervioso preguntando por este chico pero no ocurre nada más (aquí ocurre la escena más rara de toda la película y es que mantienen esta conversación mientras ella habla con.. Su boca, vaya y hablando algunas veces en lenguaje de señas, nada raro verdad, ella sabe hablar, pero su padre no usa en ningún momento lenguaje de señas, error o descuido de mi parte?). La deja en paz y se va a su cuarto porque realmente rob es un buen chico ya que está aprendiendo lenguaje de señas por ella (u otra .-.).
Her father enters half nervous asking about this boy but nothing else happens (here happens the weirdest scene of the whole movie and that is that they have this conversation while she is talking with.... Her mouth, wow and talking sometimes in sign language, nothing weird right, she knows how to talk, but her father doesn't use sign language at any time, mistake or oversight on my part?). He leaves her alone and goes to his room because rob is really a good boy since he is learning sign language for her (or another .-.).
Al dormirse Ally es despertada por su madre desesperada a las 3 de la mañana (la anti-hora, cuidao) es llevada a la sala donde está toda la familia y el “tío” Glenn, Allí las noticias informan que hay una clase de aves carnívoras que están desatando el terror en las calles y acá nos muestran que hay un video de una señora en un alto con un cartel que dice “no hacer ruido” ya que estas aves aparentemente son ciegas y solo pueden escuchar, así que instan a la población de no salir de sus casas ni hacer algún tipo de ruido. (y qué hacen nuestros protagonistas? efectivamente, como adivinaste, salen de su casa)
When Ally falls asleep she is awakened by her desperate mother at 3 a.m. (the anti-hour, mind you) she is taken to the living room where the whole family and "uncle" Glenn are, there the news reports that there is a kind of carnivorous birds that are unleashing terror in the streets and here they show us that there is a video of a lady in a high place with a sign that says "do not make noise" since these birds apparently are blind and can only hear, so they urge the population not to leave their homes or make any noise. (and what do our protagonists do? indeed, as you guessed, they leave their house).
De camino Glenn prepara unas armas y todos en la casa (hasta el perro) se van a algún lugar que no sea la ruidosa ciudad, de camino paran a echar gasolina y cuando bajan, Ally saca a orinar al perro pero le empieza a ladrar a un extraño que le apunta, así que todos se acercan para aliviar la situación y el extraño le exige a Hugh las llaves del auto, y las saca para dárselas, el extraño se enfurece y dispara al aire para demostrar que está cargada (sin sentido porque el disparo es muy ruidoso) y hugh se ve en la posición de entregar su vehículo de una vez por todas.
On the way Glenn prepares some guns and everyone in the house (even the dog) goes somewhere other than the noisy city, on the way they stop for gas and when they get off, Ally takes the dog out to pee but he starts barking at a stranger who points a gun at him, so they all go over to alleviate the situation and the stranger demands Hugh's car keys, and pulls them out to give them to him, the stranger gets mad and shoots in the air to show that it's loaded (pointless because the shot is so loud) and hugh is put in the position of handing over his vehicle once and for all.
No se si fueron algunas cosas como las que mencione que hicieron que me sintiera incómodo o que, aunque de todas formas no quita que me haya gustado, no quita el hecho que varias cosas para mi fueron como, diantres, dame mas explicaciones, como: de que se alimentaron estas aves encerradas en esta cueva, porque habian cientos de miles, no podría ser canibalismo porque no sería sustentable, la teoría que encuentro es que hibernaron hasta ese momento que las despertaron los martillazos pero, para hibernar tienen que ingerir comida en cantidades abrumantes que seguramente no conseguirían dentro de esa cueva asi que vivían afuera, es decir que vivían en el exterior, lo que resulta en que antes podia ver asi que la evolución les quitó la visión y los dotó de un oído magnífico lo que tardaría años, así que años encerrados ahí sin comida los hubiese matado. eso no nos lo explican, y todavía tengo como esa espina.

They don't explain that to us, and I still have that thorn in my side.
