¡Bienvenidos de nuevo a mi blog, chicos! El día de hoy les traigo una reseña de una excelente serie que terminé de ver apenas hace unos días; estaba esperando ver ese final para poder hacer esta publicación con mis impresiones al respecto, así que vamos a detallar un poco sobre el impacto que causó en mí al conocer la nueva apuesta de Disney con respecto al mundo de Star Wars.
Hoy hablaremos sobre THE MANDALORIAN.
Welcome back to my blog, guys! Today I bring you a review of an excellent series that I finished watching just a few days ago; I was waiting to see that ending to be able to make this post with my impressions about it, so let's detail a little about the impact it caused in me to know the new bet of Disney with respect to the world of Star Wars.
Today we will talk about THE MANDALORIAN.
Mis primeras impresiones | My first impressions
Antes de comenzar a ver la serie, ya estaba empezada, esto hizo que me llevara varios spoilers de la primera temporada, entonces ya tenía cierto nivel de expectativas al respecto sobre la serie; leía por todas partes que era increíble y que realmente le daba una esperanza a la franquicia que se vió afectada de forma negativa a raíz de las reacciones de la fanaticada tras el lanzamiento de la última trilogía de la saga de Skywalker Star Wars.
Before I started watching the series, it was already started, this made me take several spoilers from the first season, then I already had a certain level of expectations about it about the series; I was reading everywhere that it was amazing and that it really gave hope to the franchise that was negatively affected as a result of the fan reactions after the release of the last trilogy of the
SkywalkerStar Wars saga.
La primera vez que supe lo que era un Mandalorian fue cuando jugué el videojuego Star Wars KOTOR; ya que durante la historia te topabas con varios de ellos; se supone que ellos son unos asesinos con una experticia inhumana y comparten un credo que los obligan a honrar sus armaduras, las cuales son particulares en diseño y están hechas de un material que ni los sables láser pueden cortar: el béskar.
Es bastante interesante el cómo te van llevando dentro del mundo de los Mandalorianos a través del protagonista de esta serie al que se le conoce como «Mando», quién realmente se llama Din Djarin; él viaja a través de los planetas buscando recompensas y tratando de encontrar otros como él, ya que hay rumores de que los Mandalorianos se extinguieron por culpa del imperio.
The first time I knew what a Mandalorian was when I played the video game Star Wars KOTOR; as during the story you ran into several of them; they are supposed to be assassins with inhuman expertise and share a creed that forces them to honor their armor, which are particular in design and are made of a material that not even lightsabers can cut: the béskar.
It is quite interesting how they take you inside the world of the Mandalorians through the protagonist of this series who is known as "Mando", who's really called Din Djarin.; he travels through the planets looking for rewards and trying to find others like him, since there are rumors that the Mandalorians became extinct because of the empire.
Grogu, una genialidad | Grogu, a genius
Desde la primera aparición de este personaje, el hype con la serie aumentó de forma exponencial; yo ya sabía que no era el mismísimo maestro Yoda porque los tiempos no me daban, sin embargo, nunca se ha hablado sobre la especie del gran maestro Jedi, entonces, esta aparición nos da un pequeño easter egg sobre el futuro de la franquicia, por fin tocarán este tema que a más de uno le ha generado la duda.
Since the first appearance of this character, the hype with the series increased exponentially; I already knew it was not the same master Yoda because the times did not give me, however, has never been spoken about the species of the great Jedi master, then, this appearance gives us a small easter egg about the future of the franchise, finally touch this topic that more than one has generated doubt.
No es sino hasta la segunda temporada que llegamos a conocer el nombre de este pequeño personaje; todo motivado al momento en el que Mando se encuentra con el primer Jedi de la serie: Ahsoka Tano, la cual es una Jedi que solo llegamos a ver en la serie Star Wars: Clone Wars en el rol de Padawan (aprendíz) de Anakin Skywalker.
Nunca te dicen en qué parte de la línea temporal de la saga está la serie, sin embargo, existen algunos easter eggs que revelan información importante, como el hecho de que las personas recuerden la explosión de la segunda Estrella de la Muerte, es decir, la serie se desarrolla después de la muerte de Darth Vader.
It's not until the second season that we get to know the name of this little character; all motivated to the moment in which Mando meets the first Jedi of the series: Ahsoka Tano, which is a Jedi we only get to see in the Star Wars: Clone Wars series in the role of Padawan (apprentice) to Anakin Skywalker.
They never tell you where in the saga's timeline the series is set, however, there are some easter eggs that reveal important information, such as the fact that people remember the explosion of the second Death Star, i.e. the series takes place after the death of Darth Vader.
Grogu es un personaje muy particular, porque nos demuestra cómo la fuerza sigue estando presente en el mundo y cómo todavía puede existir una esperanza para los Jedi, sin embargo, bien lo dijo Ahsoka Tano al encontrarse con él:
«...Él tiene mucho miedo; no puedo entrenarlo... he visto lo que el miedo hace en las personas que transitan este mundo...»
Esto es motivado a la transformación que tuvo su maestro Anakin Skywalker, el cual terminó volviéndose una de las causas de la cuasi-extinción de los Jedi, el malvado Lord Sith conocido como Darth Vader.
Ahora, Grogu apenas está descubriendo su potencial en lo que va de serie y me pregunto si más adelante nos enseñarán de lo que es capaz o si simplemente desaparecerán este personaje en los próximos capítulos, por ahora no hay mayores informaciones, así que tocará esperar.
Grogu is a very particular character, because he shows us how the force is still present in the world and how there can still be hope for the Jedi, however, well said Ahsoka Tano when meeting him:
"...He is very afraid; I cannot train him...I have seen what fear does to people who walk this world..."
This is motivated to the transformation that his master Anakin Skywalker had, which ended up becoming one of the causes of the near-extinction of the Jedi, the evil Sith Lord known as Darth Vader.
Now, Grogu is just discovering his potential so far in the series and I wonder if later they will show us what he is capable of or if they will simply disappear this character in the next chapters, for now there is no further information, so we will have to wait.
Un villano decepcionante | A disappointing villain
Esta es una de las cosas de las que me tengo que quejar sobre esta gran serie; como buena obra de Disney, el villano conocido como Moff Gideon terminó siendo un debilucho que generó demasiadas expectativas al finalizar la primera temporada, su aparición fue una locura porque nos mostraron una presencia digna de cualquier Lord Sith, inclusive tenía su propio sable láser, el cual particularmente era el legendario Sable Negro, un sable que se remonta a una época donde hubo un legendario Mandaloriano que dejó su huella en la historia por haber sido el primero de su especie que fue aceptado dentro de la Orden Jedi, por lo cuál se le otorgó su sable especial, este fue guardado en un templo Jedi durante años hasta que fue robado por algunos Mandalorianos en una guerra en Coruscant.
This is one of the things I've to complain about this great series; as a good Disney work, the villain known as Moff Gideon ended up being a weakling that generated too many expectations at the end of the first season, his appearance was crazy because they showed us a presence worthy of any Sith Lord, he even had his own lightsaber, which particularly was the legendary Black Saber, a saber that dates back to a time when there was a legendary Mandalorian who left his mark in history for being the first of his kind to be accepted into the Jedi Order, for which he was granted his special saber, this was kept in a Jedi temple for years until it was stolen by some Mandalorians in a war on Coruscant.
En la serie no nos revelan mayor información sobre cómo Gideon adquirió el sable legendario, pero al verlo por primera vez accionando el mismo tuvimos una escena súper épica al frente, ya que había tenido una batalla de naves contra Mando y tras ser derrotado, todos pensamos que había muerto entre los escombros de su nave, pero él utiliza el sable para abrirse camino como solo un Sith Lord lo habría hecho.
A medida que van transcurriendo los capítulos, el arco de la serie se centra en un posible enfrentamiento entre Mando y Moff Gideon, yo sentí muchísima curiosidad al respecto porque quería ver en acción al villano de la serie, porque siempre sus escenas eran solo planos principales y puras frases cortas, yo quería acción.
In the series we're not revealed more information about how Gideon acquired the legendary saber, but upon first seeing him wielding it we had a super epic scene up front, as he had had a ship battle against Mando and after being defeated, we all thought he had died in the wreckage of his ship, but he uses the saber to cut his way through as only a Sith Lord would have done.
As the chapters go on, the arc of the series focuses on a possible confrontation between Mando and Moff Gideon, I was extremely curious about it because I wanted to see the villain of the series in action, because always his scenes were just main shots and pure short sentences, I wanted action.
Un final incómodo | An uncomfortable ending
El final (por ahora) de la serie me dejó un poco aturdido, todo por el hecho de que nos hicieron entender en qué parte exactamente se encuentra la serie dentro de la línea temporal de la saga de Skywalker, todo simplemente con la aparición inesperada del mismísimo Luke Skywalker dentro de la serie.
Solamente tuvo unos minutos en el capítulo final de la segunda temporada, pero bastó para desatar un montón de teorías; se supone que Grogu necesita entrenamiento, pero Ahsoka Tano no quiso ser la responsable de su entrenamiento y como ella misma lo había dicho, no existían muchos Jedi que pudieran hacer ese trabajo en ese momento, esto tiene mucho sentido porque en ese momento ya se habían extinguido casi todos los integrantes de la Orden Jedi en manos de Darth Vader.
The end (for now) of the series left me a bit stunned, all because of the fact that we were made to understand where exactly the series is at in the Skywalker saga timeline, all simply with the unexpected appearance of Luke Skywalker himself within the series.
He only had a few minutes in the final episode of the second season, but it was enough to unleash a lot of theories; Grogu is supposed to need training, but Ahsoka Tano didn't want to be the one responsible for his training and as she herself had said, there weren't many Jedi who could do that job at that time, this makes a lot of sense because at that point almost all the members of the Jedi Order had already been extinguished at the hands of Darth Vader.
Todos sabemos que es muy difícil el hecho de poder rejuvenecer personajes como Luke, porque el actor encargado de darle vida ya está muy viejo, sin embargo, existen muchos debates con respecto al trabajo que se realizó con este CGI (Computer Generated Image o Imagen Generada por Computadora) ya que la calidad realmente dio mucho que desear, esto generó muchas reacciones negativas de parte de la fanaticada.
Obviamente no puedo opinar de forma objetiva sobre este punto porque no soy un experto en CIG, preo sí encontré un vídeo particular de profesionales en VFX que lograron hacer un mejor Luke Skywalker con CGI, les dejaré el vídeo por acá:
We all know that it is very difficult to rejuvenate characters like Luke, because the actor in charge of bringing him to life is already very old, however, there are many debates regarding the work that was done with this CGI (Computer Generated Image) because the quality really gave much to be desired, this generated many negative reactions from the fans.
Obviously I can't give an objective opinion on this point because I'm not an expert in CGI, but I did find a particular video of VFX professionals who managed to make a better Luke Skywalker with CGI, I'll leave the video here:

Palabras Finales | Final Words
A pesar de los aspectos negativos que tuvo la serie, en términos generales fue muy buena, la trama me gustó muchísimo y los personajes fueron más que excelentes; además, hubo apariciones épicas como la del legendario cazarrecompensas Boba Fett y la resolución de la trama fue muy buena aunque la manera en la que se hiciera no fuera la mejor.
Le recomiendo esta serie a todas las personas que quieran adentrarse un poco más en la historia de Star Wars, ya que cronológicamente esta serie se encuentra después del Episodio 6 y mucho antes del Episodio 7 de la saga, aún debe quedar mucha tela por cortar, así que quedará esperar hasta finales del año 2021 para poder ver qué traerá Disney para la continuación de esta gran serie.

Despite the negative aspects that the series had, in general terms it was very good, I really liked the plot and the characters were more than excellent; in addition, there were epic appearances like the legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and the resolution of the plot was very good even if the way it was done was not the best.
I recommend this series to all people who want to go a little deeper into the history of Star Wars, since chronologically this series is after Episode 6 and long before Episode 7 of the saga, there should still be much fabric to be cut, so it will remain to wait until the end of 2021 to see what Disney will bring for the continuation of this great series.
