After watching Man to Man Netflix started recommending me a lot of oriental content. I spent the whole day looking for what to watch and the truth was quite interested in looking for romantic movies, since at that time I was starting my relationship with my current partner. So there was a poster of this Korean film with 2 guys very similar to BTS, I will not deny that I had a lot of doubts before watching it, but as a good moviegoer I did not judge the book by the cover and I downloaded it.
Wish You: Your Melody in my Heart is a Korean movie released on Netflix in January 2021 produced by Sung Do-jun who made the adaptation inspired by a web drama of the same name. Indeed this film stars K-pop stars Kang InSoo and Lee Sang and has a total running time of one hour and 41 minutes which compiles the 8 chapters of 10 minutes that the web drama had. Of course the scriptwriter took a lot of literary licenses and added details not told in the web drama.

Después de ver Man to Man el tio Netflix comenzó a recomendarme muchísimo contenido oriental. Yo pasaba el día entero buscando que ver y la verdad estaba bastante interesado en buscar películas románticas, puesto que en ese entonces comenzaba mi relación con mi pareja actual. Así que allí estaba un poster de este film coreano con 2 chicos muy parecidos a los de BTS, no les voy a negar que tuve muchísimas dudas antes de verla pero como buen cinéfilo no juzgue el libro por la tapa y la descargue.
La Melodía de tú Corazón es una película coreana estrenada en Netflix en Enero del 2021 producida por Sung Do-jun el cual realizó la adaptación inspirado por un Web drama que lleva el mismo nombre. En efecto este film esta estelarizado por figuras del K-pop: Kang InSoo y Lee Sang y cuenta con una duración total de una hora y 41 minutos la cual recopila los 8 capítulos de 10 minutos que tenía el web drama. Por supuesto el guionista se tomó muchas licencias literarias y agregó detalles no contados en el web drama.
The story is about the struggle of a street singer named In Soo (Kang InSoo) who dreams of becoming famous so he records videos that he posts on his YouTube channel with the help of his keyboardist and best friend Choi Min(Baek Soebin). By chance Sang Yi(Lee Sang), his biggest fan who is not only madly in love with him, but will recommend him to the record company where he works, a proposal that his boss accepts on the condition that he moves into the same apartment as In Soo as his assistant.
As the cohabitation progresses feelings surface and they begin a strange bond between a shy person and a person eager to show the world his talent, one eager to find someone who brings him security and self-confidence and the other looking for the glory of making his dreams come true. Netflix manages to bring this story full of many feelings, especially full of respect and tenderness, that will make you remember your first love.
La historia trata de la lucha de un cantante callejero llamado In Soo (Kang InSoo) que sueña con hacerse famoso motivo por el cual graba videos que postea en su canal de Youtube con la ayuda de su tecladista y mejor amigo Choi Min(Baek Soebin). Por casualidad Sang Yi(Lee Sang), su más grande fan que no solamente esta perdidamente enamorado de él, sino que lo recomendará en la empresa discográfica donde trabaja, propuesta que su jefa acepta con la condición de que se mude al mismo apartamento de In Soo como su asistente.
A medida que la convivencia avanza los sentimientos afloran y comienzan un extraño vínculo entre una persona tímida y una persona con ganas de demostrarle al mundo su talento, uno con ganas de encontrar a alguien que le aporte seguridad y confianza en sí mismo y el otro buscando la gloria de hacer realidad sus sueños. Netflix logra traer esta historia cargada de muchos sentimientos, sobretodo llena de respeto y muchísima ternura que te hará recordar tu primer amor.
I rescue from this movie the equality felt in Korean society, the beautiful scenery of Seoul and the fact that it is LGTBIQ+ Asian content, which is so appreciated. So far so good the plot is very fanciful and at some point it gets tiring, it's an ideal story if you are a K-pop fan or if you are cheesy to the extreme like me, but even for me it turned out to be too much.
Although this movie is not aimed at the age segment I'm in, it's perfect for the teenage audience. I wish I could have had this kind of content to identify with when I was that age, I would also like to mention that I liked that it showed another side of homosexuals who are also quite romantic and passionate. In this film many stereotypes are broken and the viewer is given another version of the gay community.
Rescato de esta película la igualdad que se siente en la sociedad coreana, los escenarios tan bonitos de Seúl y el hecho de ser contenido LGTBIQ+ asiático, que tanto se agradece. Hasta ahí todo está bien la trama es muy fantasiosa y en algún punto llega a cansarte, es una historia ideal si eres un fanático del K-pop o si eres cursi al extremo como yo, pero hasta para mi resultó ser demasiado.
Aunque esta película no está dirigida al segmento de edades en el cual estoy, es perfecta para el público adolescente. Ya hubiera querido yo tener este tipo de contenido con el cual identificarme cuando tenía esa edad, también me gustaría mencionar que me gustó que se mostrara otra faceta de los homosexuales que por igual somos bastante románticos y apasionados. En este film se rompen muchos estereotipos y se da al espectador otra versión de la comunidad gay.
Another thing worth noting is the music which was a must in a film starring K-pop exponents and I'm sure the K-pop fans appreciated it. The performances are pretty average at the end they were practically playing themselves but at least I was convinced. The cast looked composed and the chemistry between the main characters was so magical.
The ending was a pretty pink one and everyone was happy after a few entanglements that "happened" to include In Soo as the son of the record label owner, a bitter man who doesn't want his son to go into music and who we never got to meet. Anyway, love always wins and everyone fulfills their dreams, if only in real life everything was that easy.
Otra cosa que vale la pena destacar es la música el cual era un ingrediente infaltable en una película protagonizada por exponentes del K-pop y estoy seguro que los fanáticos de este tipo música agradecieron. Las actuaciones son bastante comunes al final ellos se estaban prácticamente interpretandose a ellos mismos pero al menos a mí me convencieron. El elenco se veía compenetrado y la química entre los protagonistas fue mágica.
El final fue uno bastante rosa y todos fueron felices después de unos cuantos enredos que incluyen por “casualidad” a In Soo como el hijo del dueño de la discográfica, un hombre amargado que no quiere que su hijo se dedique a la música y al que nunca llegamos a conocer. En fin el amor siempre gana y todos cumplen sus sueños, ojala en la vida real todo fuera así de fácil.
By the way the 2 guys are gorgeous, so you might want to give a chance to this very romantic and enjoyable Korean drama, that you will surely want to watch because it is for all audiences and without sex scenes (they didn't need either) and the main characters don't even kiss more than 3 times. Hoping not to be cancelled by the fans of this genre called Armys, I say goodbye to you but not before giving a score of 6/10 to this K-drama.
Por cierto los 2 chicos están guapísimos, así que tal vez quieras darle una oportunidad a este drama coreano muy romántico y ameno, que seguramente quieras ver porque es para todo público y sin escenas de sexo (tampoco hacían falta) es más los protagonistas no se llegan a besar más de 3 veces. Esperando no ser cancelado por los fanáticos de este género llamados Armys, me despido de ustedes no sin antes darle una puntuación de 6/10 a este K-drama.
