¡Hola, queridos lectores!
Esta es una película que vi, sin buscar verla y es que "No miren hacía arriba", era una de las nominadas a los premios Oscars 2022, así que me puse a elegir cual ver de las favoritas y escogí esta.
¿La razón por la cual la escogí? Bueno primero por que quise darle una oportunidad al actor Leonardo Di Caprio, a quien no veía actuar desde El Origen y pues perdí el interes en en él como actor y esa película aunque me puso a meditar y analizar muchas cosas, no es que me gustara.
La otra razón fue por que tiene parte de comedia y además me gusta como actúa Jennifer Lawrence, quien interpreta en esta película a Kate Dibiasky, una aspirante a doctorado. Ella hace un increíble y a la vez aterrador descubrimiento y su meta es hacer que todos sepan, para hacer algo al respecto.

This is a movie that I saw, without looking to see it and "Don't Look Up", was one of the nominees for the Oscars 2022, so I chose which one to watch from the favorites and I chose this one.
The reason why I chose it? Well first of all because I wanted to give a chance to the actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who I haven't seen acting since The Beginning and I lost interest in him as an actor and that movie although it made me think and analyze many things, I didn't like it.
The other reason was because it has some comedy in it and I also like Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Kate Dibiasky, an aspiring doctoral student, in this movie. She makes an incredible yet terrifying discovery and her goal is to let everyone know, to do something about it.
Imagina descubrir un cometa y por supuesto le pongan tu apellido ¡que genial! Pero este cometa tenga como destino la tierra, ¡que horro! En lo personal, de ser así, no me gustaría que llevara mi apellido jajaja. Y justo esto es lo que le pasa a nuestra aspirante a doctorado.
Esta película al principio me recordó a mi favorita en cuanto a fin de mundo, Armagedón pero con la diferencia de que muestra lo que es la realidad, una humanidad, un mundo, que se cree inmortal y que le importa poco el hecho de que pueda existir un final, por que simplemente lo ven como un chiste.
Imagine discovering a comet and of course they put your last name on it, how great! But this comet's destination is the earth, how awful! Personally, if so, I would not like it to carry my last name hahaha. And just this is what happens to our aspiring doctoral candidate.
This movie at first reminded me of my favorite end of the world, Armageddon but with the difference that it shows what reality is, a humanity, a world, that believes itself immortal and that cares little about the fact that there could be an end, because they simply see it as a joke.
¿No les ha pasado que saben algo y por querer ayudar a otros o a alguien, dedican tiempo valioso de sus vidas y solo son tomados por locos, exagerados o incluso vistos como un chiste? Pues así creo que se sintieron nuestros protagonistas.
Y ese tiempo que sí, desperdiciamos tratando de abrir los ojos a los demás, pudiéramos aprovecharlo haciendo lo que nos gusta, lo que nos apasiona, también con nuestras familias o simplemente viviendo, pues independientemente del fin de mundo, no somos inmortales y todos vamos a morir.
Sí, no es para que entres en pánico, es para que sepas que es una realidad segura, la muerte y es por ello que debemos valorar la vida y a quienes tenemos a nuestro lado, sin dejar para luego las cosas, pues no sabemos cuando sea el fin.
Has it ever happened to you that you know something and because you want to help others or someone else, you dedicate valuable time of your life and are only taken for crazy, exaggerated or even seen as a joke? Well, that's how I think our protagonists felt.
And that time that yes, we waste trying to open the eyes of others, we could use it doing what we like, what we are passionate about, also with our families or simply living, because regardless of the end of the world, we are not immortal and we are all going to die.
Yes, it is not for you to panic, it is for you to know that it is a certain reality, death and that is why we must value life and those we have by our side, without leaving things for later, because we do not know when the end will be.
Ahora hablemos de algunos de los personajes principales desde mi opinión.
Comencemos con el Dr. Randall, representado por ***Leonardo Di Caprio****. Un hombre de su hogar, con muchas fobias, algo reservado, pero que comienza a experimentar eso que no es o no tuvo. Es allí cuando sus valores y principios son puestos a prueba. ¿Decir la verdad o solo callar por agradar? Será otra de las pruebas que tendrá que enfrentar.
Por otro lado está Kate, quien todos toman por loca, luego de sus impulsos desesperados por decir la verdad o la realidad que ella ve y que a los demás parece no importarles. Imagina saberlo todo, no dormir por saber, ser quien lo descubre y que al decirlo simplemente nadie te crea o lo tome como algo pequeño, cuando tu sabes que es inmenso y terrible, así le pasaba a Kate y eso sin mencionar las burlas a las cuales se vio expuesta y al abuso de autoridad.
No la tienen fácil estos dos y la gente justo hace todo lo contrario a lo que ellos quieren, viven lo que yo pienso sería una realidad.
Now let's talk about some of the main characters from my opinion.
Let's start with Dr. Randall, portrayed by ***Leonardo Di Caprio****. A man from home, with many phobias, somewhat reserved, but who begins to experience that which he is not or did not have. It is there when his values and principles are put to the test: tell the truth or just keep quiet to please? It will be another of the tests he will have to face.
On the other hand there is Kate, who everyone takes for crazy, after her desperate impulses to tell the truth or the reality that she sees and that others don't seem to care about. Imagine knowing everything, not sleeping for the sake of knowing, being the one who discovers it and that when you say it no one believes you or takes it as something small, when you know it is immense and terrible, that's what happened to Kate and that's not to mention the mockery to which she was exposed and the abuse of authority.
These two don't have it easy and people just do the opposite of what they want, they live what I think would be a reality.
No mires hacia arriba también muestra la realidad política o de quienes tienen el poder, y la verdad señores es, que a los políticos solo les importa ellos mismos, ser estadísticamente populares y mantener los votos para seguir en el poder, pese a cualquier costo, incluyendo la vida misma de quienes gobiernan.
Este es el caso de la presidenta de los Estados Unidos, a quien solo le importa ella misma, siendo capaz incluso de olvidar a su propio hijo, pero como todo en la vida, esta película muestra como lo que se siembra se cosecha y el ser un político rico y poderoso, no te excluye de ello.
También están los que tienen cierto poder o entrada a algunas áreas y quieren ayudar, sin embargo no cuentan con la autoridad y recursos económicos para hacerlo. Los que cumplen las leyes, normas y se guían por los principios tanto democráticos, como personales, buscando hacer todo bien y sintiendo impotencia ante los otros que con más poder lo impiden.
**Don't look up" also shows the political reality of those in power, and the truth is that politicians only care about themselves, to be statistically popular and keep the votes to remain in power, despite any cost, including the lives of those who govern.
This is the case of the president of the United States, who only cares about herself, even being able to forget her own son, but like everything in life, this film shows how what is sown is reaped and being a rich and powerful politician, does not exclude you from it.
There are also those who have some power or entry to some areas and want to help, but do not have the authority and financial resources to do so. Those who comply with the laws, norms and are guided by both democratic and personal principles, seeking to do everything right and feeling impotent in the face of others who have more power to prevent it.
Lo cierto es que en esta película hay de todo y estamos todos, ya que de eso se trata, del mundo. Está la familia, los solteros, los ricos que quieren ser más ricos sin importarles el resto del mundo, los ineptos que ocupan puestos solo por que son los niños de mami o papi, los que se aprovechan de la situación para hacer de las suyas, los que creen y por supuesto los que no creen.
Se puede ver un mundo que vive a su manera, como dije a un inicio, como si fuéramos eternos, con lujurias, con maldad, como si nunca nadie nos va a pasar factura de todo lo que hacemos.
Lo que más me llama la atención es que justamente la película se llama como no debería llamarse y que según está basada en hechos reales y me pregunto ¿Cuánto tiempo nos queda? Es tiempo de dejar de mirar a cualquier lado y mirar justo hacia donde nos han enseñado que no miremos, es tiempo de mirar hacia arriba. El fin del mundo o de nuestras vidas es un hecho y solo nos queda mirar hacia arriba y confiar.

The truth is that in this movie there is everything and we are all, because that's what it's about, the world. There is the family, the singles, the rich who want to be richer without caring about the rest of the world, the inept who occupy positions just because they are mommy's or daddy's children, those who take advantage of the situation to do their own thing, those who believe and of course those who do not believe.
You can see a world that lives in its own way, as I said at the beginning, as if we were eternal, with lusts, with evil, as if no one will ever bill us for everything we do.
What strikes me the most is that the film is called what it should not be called and that it is based on real facts and I wonder how much time we have left? It is time to stop looking anywhere and look just where we have been taught not to look, it is time to look up. The end of the world or of our lives is a fact and we can only look up and trust.
