La semana pasada, tuve la oportunidad de ver varias películas, no taaaan buenas. Mi forma de seleccionar una, cuando no hay recomendaciones, es primero escogiendo el género, por lo general busco "Romance", me gusta sentirme enamorada y llorar por otros jajajaj. Luego de eso, mi selección va como en la curación de contenido, si me llama la atención el título, la portada y descripción, le doy play, pero aun así, eso no garantiza que la película o el contenido sea bueno del todo.
"if i stay", en español "Si, decido quedarme", es una película de una adolescente que ama la música clásica y que además toca el Violonchelo, pero su familia es completamente diferente, ya que ellos son Rockeros y aunque son muy unidos, ella no se siente parte de ellos. Muchas veces nos sucede así cuando nos sentimos diferentes, creemos no encajar, pero al final descubrimos que eramos parte y que es difícil poder vivir sin ello.

Last week, I had the opportunity to watch several movies, not soooo good. My way of selecting one, when there are no recommendations, is first choosing the genre, I usually look for "Romance", I like to feel in love and cry for others hahahahahah. After that, my selection goes like in content curation, if the title, cover and description catches my attention, I give it a play, but even so, that doesn't guarantee that the movie or the content is good at all.
"if i stay", in Spanish "Si, decido quedarme", is a film about a teenager who loves classical music and also plays the Cello, but her family is completely different, as they are Rockers and although they are very close, she doesn't feel part of them. It often happens to us when we feel different, we think we don't fit in, but in the end we discover that we were part of it and it is difficult to live without it.
Como toda película de romance adolescente, inicia con escenas del colegio, donde Mía, nuestra protagonista, conoce a un chico que cambiará por completo su vida. Al igual que su familia a su novio, le gusta el Rock y es parte incluso de una banda. La diferencia musical es algo que en el desarrollo de la película, más que todo por parte de Mía, ya que ella siempre siente no encajar, producto de sus inseguridades.
Confieso que cuando quise ver la película jamás pensé que sería de una pareja tan joven, es decir, Mía apenas tenía 17 años y su novio si era un poco mayor. Otra cosa que hizo BOOM en mi cabeza y sí, es porque soy de la vieja escuela, es que los protagonistas tienen relaciones sexuales y okeyyy, he visto eso en otras películas adolescentes, pero sin las escenas, solo lo asumo y ya. Y eso realmente chocaba conmigo, en especial porque Mía, se veía muy niña.

Like all teen romance films, it starts with scenes from school, where Mia, our protagonist, meets a boy who will completely change her life. Like her family and her boyfriend, he likes rock music and is even part of a band. The musical difference is something that is something that in the development of the film, mostly on Mia's part, as she always feels that she doesn't fit in, due to her insecurities.
I confess that when I wanted to see the film I never thought it would be about such a young couple, I mean, Mia was only 17 and her boyfriend was a bit older. Another thing that went BOOM in my head and yes, it's because I'm old school, is that the main characters have sex and okeyyy, I've seen that in other teen movies, but without the scenes, I just assume it and that's it. And that really clashed with me, especially because Mia, she looked so childish.
La película va normal, romance, peleas estúpidas, música y familia, cuando de repente la tragedia llega a la vida de la protagonista y hasta yo como espectadora quedé confundida. Lo peor no es eso, si no que la tragedia, es la señora tragedia y dije: ¡wow, cuánto drama! Es como si el guionista tuvo un mal de amores durante la redacción y de golpe quiso acabar con todo, en venganza o por catarsis jajaja. Pero bueno, tendrán que verla para entender de qué hablo.
¿Mi parte favorita? Cuando el abuelo de Mía habla con ella, casi al final de la película, sus palabras llegan al corazón y más de uno sé que le sacará una lágrima. No es para menos lo que el abuelo le dice y el permiso que le da de irse si así lo decide, aunque él también le confiesa, que sería muy feliz, si ella decide quedarse.

The film is going normally, romance, stupid fights, music and family, when suddenly tragedy comes into the protagonist's life and even I as a viewer was confused. The worst thing is not that, but the tragedy, it's the tragedy lady and I said: wow! It's as if the scriptwriter had a bad love affair during the writing and suddenly wanted to end it all, in revenge or for catharsis hahaha. But well, you'll have to see it to understand what I'm talking about.
My favourite part? When Mia's grandfather talks to her, almost at the end of the film, his words touch the heart and I know that more than one will bring a tear to your eye. It is not for less what the grandfather tells her and the permission he gives her to leave if she decides to do so, although he also confesses to her that he would be very happy if she decides to stay.
