Game of Thrones is one of my favorite series, I've been there since the first few seasons, and watched it develop over the years. So when it was announced that House of the Dragon, the story of the Targaryen family, would be coming out 200 years before all the events of the main series, I knew I had to watch it. And, honestly, I was not disappointed.
The Targaryens have dragons, therefore, it's my favorite family in all of history, simple. Blessed are all dragons ❤️ And, as the name says, this prequel is based on the development of this family, the way they held on to the coveted iron throne, and their way of ruling Westeros. It is not necessary to have seen Game of Thrones to understand the plot, since the events happened much earlier, however, the references are quite enjoyable.
Based on the fantasy books by George R. R. Martin, here is my opinion of the second season: I loved many things, and in others I expected a little more, but in summary I enjoyed every chapter.

I saw many complaints about the first chapters, that the story was "slow and boring", but it is necessary to clarify that this series, despite having great action scenes, its plot is not focused on that. It is about political mobilization, strategies, alliances, rewards and losses. The way in which the great ones fight to maintain power. It is not about going out to fight quickly with dragons and thousands of men, kill a few and be war heroes, that would not have the same ecstasy of seeing the growing tension, hatred and pain, and then end in a fight where emotions abound. We have waited years to see this season, there were barely eight chapters, and it is understandable the impatience, but the story has always been like that, everything is cooked slowly and adding many spices, but the final dish always tastes good. That's how the game of thrones is played.
Vi muchas quejas de los primeros capítulos, de que la historia estaba “lenta y aburrida”, pero es necesario aclarar que esta serie, a pesar de tener grandes escenas de acción, su trama no se centra en eso. House of the Dragon is full of references, significant details, little elements that you have to be paying close attention to catch, but when you understand them it's amazing. One thing that resonated with me was Aegon's physical state after his battle, very similar to the final physical state of his father, King Viserys.
I haven't read the books, I'm not really in the mood to read them either, but I know several details from spoilers I've looked for, and I did notice some changes in the story. For example, the death of a certain dragon, which was supposed to be relevant at the end of everything, but with his death so early it leaves in doubt what could happen, already with that detail we know that there will be a change in the plot.
The story of this series may be dark, dramatic, bloody and political. But hidden there is something very important: love. Viserys loved his daughter and that's why he made her his heir, he trusted her, that she would achieve great things. And, likewise, Rhaenyra loves her children, it was until the death of her son Luke that she understood that a real war was coming. Daemon renouncing his ambition to have the throne and giving his army to his queen, he who is an "indomitable soul", telling her that he would not leave her alone and would support her in everything. The bond between Corlys and Rhaenys... There are different glimpses concerning love in all the chapters.
House of the Dragon está lleno de referencias, detalles significativos, pequeños elementos que debes estar prestando mucha atención para captarlos, pero cuando los comprendes es increíble. Algo que me resonó fue el estado físico de Aegon después de su batalla, muy similar al estado físico final de su padre, el rey Viserys.
No he leído los libros, tampoco tengo muchos ánimos de leerlos, pero sé varios detalles por spoilers que he buscado, y sí noté algunos cambios en la historia. Por ejemplo, la muerte de cierto dragón, que se supone que sería relevante al final de todo, pero con su muerte tan temprana deja en duda lo que podría pasar, ya con ese detalle sabemos que habrá un cambio en la trama.
La historia de esta serie puede ser oscura, dramática, sangrienta y política. Pero por ahí escondido hay algo muy importante: el amor. Viserys amaba a su hija y por eso la convirtió en su heredera, confiaba en ella, en que lograría cosas grandes. Y, así mismo, Rhaenyra ama a sus hijos, fue hasta la muerte de su hijo Luke que comprendió que una guerra real se aproximaba. Daemon renunciando a su ambición de tener el trono y dando su ejército a su reina, él que es un “alma indomable”, diciéndole que no la dejaría sola y la apoyaría en todo. El vínculo entre Corlys y Rhaenys… Hay distintos vistazos referentes al amor en todos los capítulos.
During the plot of this season I had several debates with myself, for example, I felt that in the first chapters they wanted us to feel a little affection for Team Green, but I think that, with the exception of Helaena, it's quite complicated to appreciate those people. And don't get me wrong, each character is extraordinary in their own way, they are the bad side and they do wonderfully, but it's totally obvious that they are not right, they are usurping the place of the rightful queen. Therefore, any evil that happens to them does not cause me even a little pity. I found the death of the little prince atrocious, but we know that's part of the great lore of the narrative, although the production wanted to show them more "human", it's insignificant, we hate them, and for me, that's already connecting with the story and its characters. You don't need to love them to consider them awesome.
Durante la trama de esta temporada tuve diversos debates conmigo misma, por ejemplo, sentí que en los primeros capítulos quisieron que sintiéramos un poco de afecto por el Team Verde, pero creo que, a excepción de Helaena, es bastante complicado apreciar a esa gente. Y no me malinterpreten, cada personaje es extraordinario a su manera, ellos son el bando malo y lo hacen de maravilla, pero es totalmente obvio que no tienen la razón, y que están usurpando el lugar de la legítima reina. Pero, en serio, ¿qué traumados debemos estar con esta historia para esperar que al cadáver de un niño, que está siendo exhibido para demostrar su muerte, se le cayera la cabeza en frente de todos? Sé que todos lo pensamos.
I also noticed how significant a mother's love and good parenting is. It was a detail very present in the first chapters. The motherly love of Rhaenyra cannot be doubted, who unlike Alicent, is indeed aware of her children's lives, and was devastated by Luke's death at the end of the first season. And, even in her place as queen, she had a moment to comfort her eldest son during the grief of losing his brother.
On the other hand, in the second chapter we see Aegon crying for his son, Helaena traumatized by the event, and his mother ignored them both, it was a devastating moment. It shows you that they never had the attention and love of their mother. Even Aemond, who you can perceive as cruel and insensitive, seeks maternal affection in other women.
También noté lo significativo que es el amor y buena crianza de una madre. Fue un detalle muy presente en los primeros capítulos. El amor de madre de Rhaenyra no se puede poner en duda, quien a diferencia de Alicent, sí está al tanto de la vida de sus hijos, y quedó destrozada con la muerte de Luke, al final de la primera temporada. Y, aun en su lugar de reina, tuvo un momento para consolar a su hijo mayor durante el dolor de haber perdido a su hermano.
Por otro lado, en el segundo capítulo vemos a Aegon llorando por su hijo, Helaena traumada por el suceso, y su madre los ignoró a ambos, fue un momento devastador. Te demuestra de que ellos nunca tuvieron la atención y amor de su madre. Incluso Aemond, que puedes percibirlo como cruel e insensible, busca el afecto materno en otras mujeres.
The detail I loved the most were the dragons ❤️ I loved the way they showed the connection of the dragons with their riders. They are not a pet, they are not just animals, they are warriors, they are intelligent and they feel. The Targaryen are right when they say they are the closest thing to gods. They are powerful and magnificent, and the way they care, love, and worry about their riders is beautiful. They think and make decisions, like Seasmoke searching on his own for his own rider when he found out they were looking for one. They are, without a doubt, the best of the season.
The whole "dragon seed" process was an amazing plan. But I think we can all agree that Rhaenyra should have been more careful in who was going to become a new rider; not because they are "commoners" but because of their intentions, and their loyalties. You can't give the best weapon you have in the war, to just anyone who says they can use it. They should have been studied, trained, and chosen with care. Dragons are more valuable than all the wealth of the lords of Westeros combined, and should have been treated with more respect.
El detalle que más amé fueron los dragones ❤️ Me encantó la manera en que mostraron la conexión de los dragones con sus jinetes. No son una mascota, no son simples animales, son unos guerreros, son inteligentes y sienten. Los Targaryen tienen razón cuando dicen que son lo más cercano a los dioses. Son poderosos y magníficos, y la manera en que cuidan, aman, y se preocupan por sus jinetes es hermoso. Ellos piensan y toman decisiones, como Seasmoke buscando por su cuenta su propio jinete cuando se dio supo que le estaban buscando uno. Son, sin ninguna duda, lo mejor de la temporada.

But I think a big part of the success of the series is thanks to its actors and actresses. They connected with the characters and made them real.
Let's talk about Team Green first. Otto Hightower and Aemond Targaryen we may want to see dead, and we look forward to that day, but they are brilliant. Smart, Machiavellian, cunning and ambitious. They know what they're doing, and they do it very well. And we hate them for it, because we know they're very good.
Aegon Targaryen doesn't generate respect for me, nor do I think: "how tremendous he is", but he did cause me pity. He is the «king» but no one pays attention to him, no one cares what he has to say, he and everyone knows he doesn't have what it takes to rule. I felt sorry for his position, he didn't really seek it, it was Alicent and the whole council who imposed it on him, and used him as a puppet in the war. But it doesn't justify his actions either. That's why I will always hate Alicent, because of her it all started, because of her misinterpretation of a dying man's dream.
Unlike all of them, the only thing worthwhile about the greens is Helaena Targaryen. They see her as crazy and different, when she is wiser than all of them put together. She knows what the game is like and what part everyone plays. She has visions about the future, and no one knew how to appreciate her.
Pero creo que gran parte del éxito de la serie es gracias a sus actores y actrices. Ellos conectaron con los personajes y los volvieron reales.

Aegon Targaryen no me genera respeto, ni pienso: “qué tremendo es”, pero sí me causó lástima. Es el «rey» pero nadie le presta atención, a nadie le importa lo que tenga que decir, él y todos saben que no tiene lo necesario para gobernar. Me dió lastima su posición, realmente él no lo buscó, fue Alicent y todo el consejo quiénes se lo impusieron, y lo usaron de títere en la guerra. Pero igual tampoco justifica sus acciones. Por eso siempre odiare a Alicent, por culpa de ella comenzó todo, por su mala interpretación del sueño de un moribundo.
A diferencia de todos ellos, lo único que vale la pena de los verdes es Helaena Targaryen. La ven como loca y diferente, cuando es más sabia que todos juntos. Ella sabe cómo es el juego y la parte que cumple cada quién. Tiene visiones acerca del futuro, y nadie supo apreciarla.
On the side of my Team Black, there are wonderful characters. Apart from our legitimate queen Rhaenyra, there's also:
Daemon Targaryen, who has been a character we've admired since the beginning. He has always been among my favorite characters in this story, but in this season the role he fulfilled made us all a little unhinged. We need more of him, he is the best warrior, and even if he's unbearable at times, he is one of the most important in this game.
Jace Velaryon is another character that surprised. Yes, many may say he did nothing but pose😅 but he always defended his queen, scolded her when he felt she was erring, and every idea he brought up was well structured. He knew how to make good alliances, and he stood his ground at every turn. Several of us know what his fate will be, but it is quite obvious that he is a great prince, and would have made an excellent king.
Baela Targaryen is also another character that swept this season. She was in only a few scenes, but in each one she shined. She always stood her ground, saying the right words with her head held high, demonstrating the fire of a dragon. It's what she learned from her grandmother, Rhaenys Targaryen, another woman of great mettle and extremely valuable. The queen that never was, who deserved the crown much more than Viserys himself. A character who came to the heart of all for her strength.
Del lado de mi el Team Negro, hay personajes maravillosos. Aparte de nuestra legitima reina Rhaenyra, también está:

Es lo que aprendió de su abuela, Rhaenys Targaryen, otra mujer de gran temple y extremadamente valiosa. La reina que nunca fue, que se merecía la corona mucho más que el propio Viserys. Un personaje que llegó al corazón de todos por su fortaleza.
Of course there are episodes that are better than others, but there is no denying that the production of each one is 10/10. The set design is beautiful. From the small decor details, to the costumes, to the scene shots, to the larger details like the dragons, the filming locations. Every element feels so real, it's sometimes sad that it's not.
However, the original story will always be wonderful since it was iconic at the time, it was different from what was around at the time. But, I agree with many when they say that the flaw of this series is its bad script. There are many loose threads in the plot, situations that make no sense or are unnecessary, and that makes several chapters a bit tedious.
Por supuesto que hay episodios mejores que otros, pero no se puede negar que la producción de cada uno es 10/10. La escenografía es preciosa. Pero, coincido con muchos cuando dicen que el fallo de esta serie es su mal guión. Hay muchos hilos sueltos en la trama, situaciones que no tienen sentido o son innecesarias, y eso hace un poco tedioso varios capítulos.
Regarding the season finale, I don't understand the complaints. It's a season finale, not a series finale. It's remarkable that there are open storylines left that will be covered in the next seasons. That's the thrill of the whole thing, waiting to find out what will happen. The Lannisters and Hightower march to Harrenhal where Daemon awaits them. The Starks, gorgeous as always, have already crossed south to support Rhaenyra. Rhaena has found a new dragon, will she be able to tame it this time? Aegon escapes, Aemond is losing the victory where he thought he was indestructible, and even Cole himself sees death as a relief. Plus, there's a good fight at sea with the Sea Serpent to come. Already all the pieces are being moved on the board.

Con respecto al final de temporada, no entiendo las quejas. Es un final de temporada, no de la serie. Es notable que queden historias abiertas que se cubrirán en las próximas temporadas.
