Se le es conocido a Studio Ghibli por ser un estudio de animación japonés por sus largometrajes y cortometrajes animados. que a consideración de críticas especializadas y gran cantidad de cinéfilos como uno de los mejores estudios de animación existentes en la actualidad. Fue fundado el 15 de junio de 1985, en la ciudad de Tokio, Japón, por Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata, Toshio Suzuki y Yasuyoshi Tokuma. Cuenta con más de 20 películas de su autoría, en las que seis de ellas se encuentran entre las diez películas de anime más taquilleras realizadas en Japón.

En este top daré a conocer las que a mi parecer son las 5 mejores películas de Studio Ghibli, aunque como fanática de este estudio y de sus obras, personalmente me encantan la gran mayoría de sus películas.

It was founded on June 15, 1985, in Tokyo, Japan, by Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata, Toshio Suzuki and Yasuyoshi Tokuma. It has made more than 20 films, six of which are among the top ten highest-grossing anime films made in Japan.

In this top I will present what in my opinion are the 5 best films of Studio Ghibli, although as a fan of this studio and its works, I personally love the vast majority of it films.

PONYO Y EL SECRETO DE LA SIRENITA.

PONYO ON THE CLIFF BY THE SEA.

Película de animación de origen japonés producida por Studio Ghibli en conjunto con los productores Toshio Suzuki y Kōji Hoshino. Dirigida, realizada y escrita por el director de cine Hayao Miyazaki, quien a su vez fundó el estudio de películas y animación "Studio Ghibli". Y fnalmente estrenada en el año 2008. Ponyo y el secreto de la sirenita o Ponyo en el acantilado (Gake no ue no Ponyo), es una película principalmente dirigita a un público infantil, fue inspirada en el cuento danés titulado "La Sirenita" de Hans Christian Andersen. La historia tiene un enfoque central en cómo una criatura marina que mantiene similitudes a las de un pez dorado llamada Ponyo, conoce y establece una amistad con un niño llamado Sōsuke, en donde ambos pasan por diversas travesías y aventuras juntos en las que descubren gran cantidad de sucesos maravillosos, todo por el inminente deseo de Ponyo en convertirse en una niña de verdad.

Una historia fenomenal, puede estar dirigida principalmente a un público infantil, pero no quita el hecho de que causa en personas de cualquier edad relativamente mayor la misma emoción que sentiría un infante al verla. En donde todo aquel que la vea podría volver a sentirse como un niño pequeño. Con grandes atributos que van desde la animación y el dibujo hasta la música. Ponyo y el secreto de la sirenita mantiene un gran desenvolvimiento de cada personaje a medida que avanza la película. Una historia que logra transmitir un profundo mensaje de amor, amistad, valentía y perseverancia. En donde Ponyo, a pesar de ser una niña pequeña no se rinde, aún con los obstáculos que se cruzan en su camino, una niña bastante independiente que no siente una necesidad de ser salvada por nadie, sino más bien carga una capacidad de querer ayudar a los demás bastante grande. En mi opinión es una de las mejores películas de Studio Ghibli y totalmente recomendada para un público de cualquier edad, donde el más grande puede volver a sentir la alegría de ser un niño y disfrutar como ellos de tal obra maestra que es esta película animada.

A phenomenal story, it may be aimed primarily at a child audience, but it does not detract from the fact that it causes in people of any relatively older age the same emotion that an infant would feel when watching it. Where everyone who sees it could feel like a little kid again. With great attributes ranging from animation and drawing to music. Ponyo and the Secret of the Little Mermaid maintains a great development of each character as the film progresses. A story that manages to convey a profound message of love, friendship, courage and perseverance. Where Ponyo, despite being a little girl does not give up, even with the obstacles that cross her path, a very independent girl who does not feel the need to be saved by anyone, but rather carries a great capacity to want to help others. In my opinion it is one of Studio Ghibli's best films and totally recommended for an audience of any age, where the older ones can feel again the joy of being a child and enjoy as they do such a masterpiece that is this animated film.

Producida por Studio Ghibli en conjunto con el productor Toshio Suzuki. Dirigida y escrita por Hayao Miyazaki, distribuida por la productora de cine japonés Tōhō, y estrenada en el año 1997. La princesa Mononoke (Mononoke Hime). La película se ambienta en un Japón durante el período Muromach, período de la historia japonesa cuyo comienzo se data en 1336, la trama se centra en la lucha entre guardianes sobrenaturales de un bosque y humanos que se atrevían a profanar sus recursos. El término "Mononoke" no hace referencia a un nombre, sino más bien a una descripción que puede ser traducida como "espíritu vengador" alegando a que el título de la película más bien podría traducirse literalmente como "La princesa de los espíritus vengadores".

Una película fantástica donde la naturaleza y todas las características mágicas y fabulosas hacen captar al público a gran manera. Con todo aspecto a su favor, la película tiene comienzo y fin en un ambiente de la época medieval de japón, en la cual los humanos empiezan a adentrarse a los bosques para obtener su dominación y explotar sus recursos para poder extender sus civilizaciones. Con una animación maravillosa y característica para aquellos quienes disfrutan de éstas en épocas de los 90's y hasta menos, hacen grandes énfasis en las partes de acción y al movimiento. Una trama increíble en la que temas como la destreza, la valentía y el empoderamiento se hacen presentes. Donde cada personaje se destaca en múltiples ámbitos y son de gran importancia para la trama de la historia. Es a mi parecer una gran película y una de mis favoritas.

A fantastic film where nature and all the magical and fabulous features capture the audience in a great way. With all aspects in its favor, the film begins and ends in a medieval Japanese setting, in which humans begin to enter the forests to gain dominance and exploit their resources in order to extend their civilizations. With a wonderful and characteristic animation for those who enjoy them in the 90's and even less, with great emphasis on the action parts and movement. An incredible plot in which themes such as dexterity, bravery and empowerment are present. Where each character stands out in multiple areas and are of great importance to the plot of the story. It is in my opinion a great movie and one of my favorites.

Dirigida por Hayao Miyazaki y producida por Studio Ghibli, además de contar con la dirección artística de Yōji Takeshige, y posteriormente estrenada el 20 de julio de 2001. El viaje de Chihiro (Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi), cuenta la historia de una niña llamada Chihiro, la cual durante una mudanza, queda atrapada en un mundo tanto mágico como sobrenatural, teniendo como misión buscar salir de ese mundo y a su vez sacar a sus padres de él para así poder regresar al suyo.

Directed by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli, with art direction by Yōji Takeshige, and later released on July 20, 2001. Spirited Away (Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi), tells the story of a girl named Chihiro, who during a move, gets trapped in a magical and supernatural world, whose mission is to get out of that world and in turn get her parents out of it so she can return to her own.

A mi parecer la película de Studio Ghibli con mejor animación, que además cuenta con un soundtrack increíble. Cuenta la historia de Chihiro, una niña que a la vista que se quiso dar de ella en el filme se considera como malcriada y caprichosa, aunque a mi parecer la considero bastante astuta. Una película que sin duda alguna hace que te sumerjas en la aventura que genera, el cómo Chihiro debía enfrentar y atravesar distintos obstáculos o problemas que debía resolver a medida que surgían, en cómo fue su travesía para regresar a su mundo tal y como llegó a aquel nuevo, en donde se le cruzan en su camino distintos personajes peculiares que generan curiosidad al público y mostrando como la gran mayoría de mujeres de películas de Studio Ghibli, una gran valentía a pesar de su corta edad. Una de las películas más increíbles y exitosas en donde cada pequeño detalle, desde el paisaje hasta los personajes y su historia te cautivan y te hacen no querer despegarte de la pantalla.

In my opinion the Studio Ghibli film with the best animation, which also has an incredible soundtrack. It tells the story of Chihiro, a girl who in the film is considered to be spoiled and capricious, although in my opinion I consider her to be quite cunning. A film that undoubtedly makes you immerse yourself in the adventure it generates, how Chihiro had to face and go through different obstacles or problems to be solved as they arose, how was her journey to return to her world as she came to that new one, where different peculiar characters cross her path that generate curiosity to the public and showing as the vast majority of women in Studio Ghibli films, a great courage despite her young age. One of the most incredible and successful films where every little detail, from the scenery to the characters and their story captivate you and make you not want to leave the screen.

El recuerdo de Marnie (Omoide no Mānī). Película animada de origen japonés, dirigida por Hiromasa Yonebayashi quien a su vez participó en la creación del guión junto con Keiko Niwa y Masashi Ando, producida por Studio Ghibli de la mano con Toshio Suzuki y Yoshiaki Nishimura, finalmente estrenada en el año 2014. Basada en la novela juvenil "Cuando Marnie estuvo aquí" escrita por la británica Joan G. Robinson en 1967. Ambientada en un pueblo ubicado en las costas de Japón. Data la historia de Anna, una niña la cual no tiene ningún tipo de relación con amigos o personas de su edad, quien se ve obligada a mudarse a causa de cómo la contaminación de su ciudad no ayudaba en nada con sus problemas asmáticos. Con su pasión por el dibujo, a escapadas llega a la costa del pueblo y denota una mansión a lo lejos la cual la cautiva y la hace querer saber más sobre ella y quiénes habitan en ella.

La trama de esta historia es bastante conmovedora, en muchas situaciones llegué a sentirme identificada con los distintos sentimientos con los que contaba Anna, la protagonista. Es una historia totalmente hermosa aunque un poco densa. Son múltiples las enseñanzas que pueden dejar al público en general, como el ser humano busca en la vida un sentido para vivir. Con unas vibras excepcionales, en las que captas la manera en que el destino, la vida y el amor se abre camino para poder encontrarnos a nosotros mismos, y aunque hayan múltiples obstáculos, darnos cuenta de que al final el sentido de la vida, es nada más y nada menos que vivirla. Una historia atrapante la cual a medida que avanza te deja queriendo aclarar todas tus confusiones y descubrir todo. La considero una gran película, la cual puede dar giros en la historia que puedan llegar a impactar al espectador, con un desarrollo de personajes increíbles y una animación que causa tanta satisfacción y tranquilidad.

The plot of this story is quite touching, in many situations I came to feel identified with the different feelings that Anna, the main character, had. It is a totally beautiful story, although a bit dense. There are multiple teachings that can be left to the general public, as the human being seeks in life a meaning to live. With exceptional vibes, in which you capture the way in which destiny, life and love make their way to find ourselves, and although there are multiple obstacles, realize that in the end the meaning of life, is nothing more and nothing less than to live it. A gripping story which as it progresses leaves you wanting to clarify all your confusions and discover everything. I consider it a great movie, which can give twists in the story that can shock the viewer, with an incredible character development and animation that causes so much satisfaction and tranquility.

El increíble castillo vagabundo o en su nombre japonés Howl no Ugoku Shiro. Otra de las grandes obras maestras producidas por Hayao Miyazaki con la ayuda de Ryōsuke Kiyokawa y Yōsuke Toba, creada por Studio Ghibli, y producida por Hayao Miyazaki, Toshio Suzuki y Tomohiko Ishii, y finalmente estrenada en 2004. Basada en la novela homónica de la escritora británica Diana Wynne Jones. En ella relata a historia de Sophie, una joven fabricante de sombreros la cual fue víctima del hechizo de una bruja, quien decide acudir al castillo ambulante, lugar el cual se encuentra habitado por el mago Howl, a quien va con la esperanza de que este pueda encontrar una solución al maleficio hecho por la bruja.

Una historia llena de fantasía, ambientada en un reino ficticio en donde la magia y la tecnología del siglo XX se encuentran presentes. En donde toda la experiencia de principio a fin de la película es maravillosa, con el soundtrack más hermoso. Donde cada personaje y su desarrollo son increíbles al igual que la animación y el dibujo. Es sin duda alguna mi película favorita. Hace sentir miles de sensaciones increíbles, donde puedes sentir el amor hacia una historia y todos los factores que la componen. Te hace disfrutar de cada suceso que atraviesan los personajes de la historia para poder así sentir la aventura tanto como ellos. Una película que contiene temas que van desde el pacifismo y el feminismo, así como la importancia de la compasión y la vejez, dejando muchos aprendizajes en quienes han podido disfrutar de tal maravilloso filme.

A story full of fantasy, set in a fictional kingdom where magic and technology of the twentieth century are present. Where the whole experience from beginning to end of the film is wonderful, with the most beautiful soundtrack. Where each character and their development are incredible as well as the animation and the drawing. It is without a doubt my favorite movie. It makes you feel thousands of incredible sensations, where you can feel the love towards a story and all the factors that compose it. It makes you enjoy every event that the characters in the story go through so you can feel the adventure as much as they do. A film that contains themes ranging from pacifism and feminism, as well as the importance of compassion and old age, leaving many lessons in those who have been able to enjoy such a wonderful film.

LA TUMBA DE LUCIÉRNAGAS.

GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES.

La tumba de Luciérnagas (Hotaru no Haka). Dirigida por Isao Takahata, siendo esta su primera película dirigida por él mismo con Studio Ghibli. Producida por Toru Hara y estrenada en 1988. Está basada en la historia homónima del autor Akiyuki Nosaka con el mismo nombre que el metraje, la cual fue publicada en 1967. Se sitúa en la ciudad de Kōbe, Japón, en donde se narra la dura historia de una pareja de hermanos llamados Seita y Setsuko, y en su desesperada lucha por sobrevivir durante los últimos meses de la Segunda Guerra Mundial.

Grave of the Fireflies (Hotaru no Haka). Directed by Isao Takahata, this being his first film directed by himself with Studio Ghibli. Produced by Toru Hara and released in 1988. It is based on the homonymous story by author Akiyuki Nosaka with the same name as the film, which was published in 1967. It is set in the city of Kōbe, Japan, where it tells the hard story of a sibling couple named Seita and Setsuko, and in their desperate struggle to survive during the last months of World War II.

No quise dejar atrás esta joya de la animación japonesa. Un filme que discurre con una fluidez asombrosa. En la que te lleva a sentir dolor y pena por la dura vida por la que pasaron los dos jóvenes protagonistas, una película capaz de sacarle una lágrima a la gran mayoría. Verdaderamente se refleja los pesares y las condiciones en las cuales Japón atravesó aquella época de guerra, puesto a que esta obra es considerada la completa adaptación de la historia corta de Nosaka. De principio a fin las emociones que llegas a sentir en la expectación de esta película son indescriptibles. Seita y Setsuko se ven obligados a refugiarse en un mundo construido a su medida al margen de lo que adultos de carácter ingrato y despreciable son capaces de ofrecerles. En donde se crean una alternativa a un mundo alejado de la realidad, en donde no haya electricidad ni lluvias negras posteriores a las bombas nucleares. Un mundo en donde se podía ser como las luciérnagas, para brillar y apagarse.

I did not want to leave behind this jewel of Japanese animation. A film that runs with an amazing fluidity. It makes you feel pain and sorrow for the hard life that the two young protagonists went through, a film capable of bringing a tear to the eyes of most people. It truly reflects the sorrows and conditions in which Japan went through that time of war, as this work is considered the complete adaptation of Nosaka's short story. From beginning to end, the emotions you feel in anticipation of this film are indescribable. Seita and Setsuko are forced to take refuge in a world built for them outside of what ungrateful and despicable adults are able to offer them. Where they create an alternative to a world far from reality, where there is no electricity or black rain after the nuclear bombs. A world where one could be like fireflies, to shine and go out.
