I think I have only watched 2 films where the majority of the story takes place in an elevator. One of these films was a horror one and the devil was inside the elevator disguised as a regular person. The other one was a crime/thriller involving a female executive and one of the building's guard.
Since I enjoyed those 2 films I decided to watch this little Mexican production called "El Ascensor", which means The Lift in English. The story, in this case, is about a couple that suddenly find themselves trapped in a time loop inside the elevator.
When the time loop begins they aren't trapped together. This time trap begins because one of them push one of the elevator's button just when a bolt of lightning is hitting the building. The person who resets with the time loop is the last one pushing the button.
Naturally, in the beginning, everything is extremely confusing for the person resetting with the loop. These loops will be used to extract information from the person who doesn't know what's going on, but eventually, the loop will be restarted by the other person as well. And the same type of interaction will happen again, the only difference will be the inversed roles.
Once they are both resetting with the loop, is when they can finally begin to make proper plans and try to figure out how to get out of this place. There will be fights, reconciliations, new fights, some exaggerated scenes that felt really anti-climactic, and a few funny lines as well.
With time they will discover why this time loop was even possible in the first place, and the person responsible for everything that's happening. The film doesn't have major twists, and it is far from being a scifi must watch. This is just a small indie production and the length of the film is just 70 minutes, but since it explores entertaining scifi circumstances in an original way I kind of enjoyed it. If you are looking for a short scifi story, this could be a good option to watch. Have in mind the budget was certainly very small for this film and it shows, but it can be fun.

- It was an OK movie, it provided enough entertainment.
The worst
- The special effects were really crappy.
- The movie made me roll my eyes 2 times.
