Take this movie, for example, the first part of the story was released early in July and in late July the second part was already released worldwide. With regular live-action films, fans would have to wait at least a couple of years for the second part to be released. Now, obviously, live-action films can be of higher quality and have much more entertaining value, but I just bring this point to mention why animated productions are also cool for the fans.
Main names associated with the film
The director of the film is Chris Palmer. He has a lot of experience in the art department but as a director, he has only worked in 4 productions so far, including part 1 of this story. Besides that film, he also worked in Superman: Man of Tomorrow and in the series Voltron: Legendary Defender.
The original creator of the story is Jeph Loeb. This is a person with very extensive experience in the entertainment industry, he has worked mainly as a producer but is also a very prominent writer of animated stories. As a writer, he previously worked in Batman: Hush, Wolverine vs. Sabretooth, Teen Wolf among many other stories.
The screenplay was written by Tim Sheridan, just like the first film. He has also worked in the series Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy, The Death and Return of Superman, the series Justice League Action among many others.

What was the movie about?
The Long Halloween story is about a series of murders that are taking place during several festivities and Batman has the obligation of doing his own investigation to discover who is behind these murders and what is the reason for them. Why is this mysterious character known as Holiday killing so many people during festivities?
Throughout the story, Batman will have to face a lot of different enemies and criminals as he tries the best he can to prevent more murders from happening. In the first film, we saw classical characters such as Catwoman helping Batman a couple of times, and also the main classical Batman's villain, The Joker. These characters appear again in the second film.
Something I liked about the second part was the introduction of more cool characters, or actually in this case it was other well-known villains. You can see who I am talking about if you take a look at the poster at the beginning of this post. Notice the poster also provides a glimpse of the original identify of one of the villains and I think it is possible to recognize him if we look carefully. Catwoman will be of extreme importance because there are so many evil characters that Batman alone will be unable to defeat them all on his own.
As the investigation continues, Batman identifies several suspects but one of them is particularly painful to recognize as a suspect because this person is a prominent member of society and someone who should be trying to stop more crimes from happening. However, there is evidence that makes him a potential suspect and this information cannot be ignored.
The second part will also provide important background information about a secondary character that will reveal the reasons for the Holiday killings and all of this has a massive twist that will be hard to predict for the viewer. I would bet no viewer will be able to guess the real identity of the killer until it is finally revealed towards the end of the movie.

La historia de Long Halloween trata sobre una serie de asesinatos que se están produciendo durante varias festividades y Batman tiene la obligación de hacer su propia investigación para descubrir quién está detrás de estos asesinatos y cuál es el motivo de los mismos. ¿Por qué este misterioso personaje conocido como Holiday mata a tanta gente durante las festividades?
A lo largo de la historia, Batman tendrá que enfrentarse a muchos enemigos y criminales diferentes mientras hace todo lo posible para evitar que sucedan más asesinatos. En la primera película vimos personajes clásicos como Catwoman ayudando a Batman un par de veces, y también el principal villano clásico de Batman, El Joker. Estos personajes aparecen nuevamente en la segunda película.
Algo que me gustó de la segunda parte fue la introducción de personajes más geniales, o en realidad en este caso fueron otros villanos conocidos. Puedes ver de quién estoy hablando si miras el póster al comienzo de esta publicación. Observa que el póster también proporciona un vistazo de la identidad original de uno de los villanos y creo que es posible reconocerlo si lo miramos con atención. Catwoman será de extrema importancia porque hay tantos personajes malvados que Batman solo no podrá derrotarlos a todos por su cuenta.

Despite the fact this is a superhero movie, there aren't many superpowers present in the story. In fact, the only superpowers belong to a couple of villains. It was a surprise to see the heroes defeating other characters with real superpowers. Batman and Catwoman are 2 extremely talented characters, they know how to fight very well, and they have their own tools that make them even more competent, especially in the case of Batman, but neither of these 2 characters have a real superpower. On the villain's side, there will be 2 of them with real superpowers although one of those is more like a silly neutral character and not always a full-blown villain, at least during this story.
It was entertaining to see Batman acting as a detective and being outplayed for the majority of the story by the Holiday killer. It would have been even better to have more superheroes present in the story but it was still very enjoyable nonetheless.
How was the quality of the animation and the writing of the story?
As with every DC animated film, the animation was good. There are other productions with better animation but in this case, it was acceptable and there is nothing to criticize about it. The story was certainly well-written but I did find the first film a bit more entertaining and intriguing. Maybe it was because a new story was being introduced with some characters that I had never seen, but either way, the second part was nicely done too, although slightly less enjoyable.
Final thoughts
This film was entertaining enough to justify giving it a watch especially for those who love DC animated films. It is not my favorite though, but I did like the variety of villains and the well-written plot. There is a post-credit scene that makes it clear more movies will be produced including more superheroes along with Batman so I am expecting a new wave of DC animated films in the coming months and years.
A pesar de que se trata de una película de superhéroes, no hay muchos superpoderes presentes en la historia. De hecho, los únicos superpoderes pertenecen a un par de villanos. Fue una sorpresa ver a los héroes derrotar a otros personajes con superpoderes reales. Batman y Catwoman son 2 personajes extremadamente talentosos, saben pelear muy bien, y tienen sus propias herramientas que los hacen aún más competentes, especialmente en el caso de Batman, pero ninguno de estos 2 personajes tiene un superpoder real. Por el lado de los villanos, habrá 2 de ellos con superpoderes reales, aunque uno de ellos se parece más a un personaje neutral tonto y no siempre a un villano en toda regla, al menos durante esta historia.
Fue entretenido ver a Batman actuando como detective y siendo superado durante la mayor parte de la historia por el asesino Holiday. Hubiera sido incluso mejor tener más superhéroes presentes en la historia, pero de todos modos fue muy agradable.
¿Cómo fue la calidad de la animación y la redacción de la historia?
Como con todas las películas animadas de DC, la animación fue buena. Hay otras producciones con mejor animación pero en este caso fue aceptable y no hay nada que criticar. La historia estaba ciertamente bien escrita, pero encontré la primera película un poco más entretenida e intrigante. Tal vez fue porque se estaba introduciendo una nueva historia con algunos personajes que nunca había visto, pero de cualquier manera, la segunda parte también estuvo bien hecha, aunque un poco menos agradable.

Esta película fue lo suficientemente entretenida como para justificar darle un vistazo especialmente para aquellos que aman las películas animadas de DC. Sin embargo, no es mi favorita, pero me gustó la variedad de villanos y la trama bien escrita.
