Bridget Jones
Today I want to start my repertoire of comedy movies with the favorite of all, the Bridget Jones trilogy. The story of the film is based on the novel by Helen Fielding, it stars Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant.
The first of this saga was released in 2001 and captures the hearts of many women who identify with the character. The story begins one night at Christmas when Bridget finds herself alone and a little drunk in her apartment playing the song "All By Myself" by Céline Dion. She is at a point in her life where she is going through a lot of frustrations such as obesity, singleness and a roll with her age.
That same night she decides to write a diary to tell the story of her life. A few days later her family organizes a meeting with the sole purpose of getting Bridget a boyfriend and that is when she meets a famous, serious and stubborn lawyer named Mark Darcy played by the handsome and excellent actor Colin Firth. Unfortunately this first meeting between the two does not go very well as they have nothing in common. Restless to get a partner at any cost, she decides to give a chance to the womanizer and gallant of gallants Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) who is her boss. Between entanglements and disillusions, the film progresses, pitting two men against each other for the love of a woman.
The second film was released in 2004 "Bridget Jones on the brink of madness" starring the same actors of the first film. Here Bridget is happier and more enthusiastic because she has many things she didn't have before, including her boyfriend Mark; but everything gets complicated when Mark introduces her to his colleague Rebecca who will arrive to unleash a series of feelings such as jealousy and insecurity in the protagonist that will make her clothes her relationship with Mark Darcy.
By coincidence of life Bridget travels to Thailand for work with her former boss Cleaver, who takes the opportunity to make her fall in love again but luckily she discovers that he is not serious about his feelings when she discovers him with a Thai prostitute. She decides to return home and is arrested when they find in her luggage an ornament containing drugs that Bridget was innocently carrying in her luggage because she wanted to do a favor to her friend's boyfriend.
While in jail happens one of the scenes that I like the most in this film as Bridget teaches the inmates to sing the song "Like a virgin of Madonna" also become close friends and when Bridget is released she gives them branded bras and the book "women are from mars and men from venus". The Thai prisoners make Bridget realize that Mark is a good man who loves, respects and values her. Both the first and second Bridget Jones tapes have something in particular as Mark defends his love against Cleaver's desires to spoil their relationship.
"Bridget Jones's Baby" and when no one thought it possible a new movie of this character comes to the screen with the same comic, funny characteristics that will keep you in suspense until the last minute. Everything starts very well apparently, Bridget who is about to celebrate her 43rd birthday, has a successful job and is at an ideal weight, but nothing is perfect in this life and she is single and unattached. In this movie we all realize how time has passed, Bridget is already quite changed and not to mention Mark Darcy.
As fate would have it, Bridget meets Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey) with whom she has a crazy and passionate one night stand. As the days go by, she meets her old boyfriend Mark again and they both realize that the love between them was still intact. Fate plays a trick on Bridget when she becomes pregnant and does not know who the father is. As her pregnancy progresses, both boys fight with Bridget's love and a series of things happen that will make you die laughing.
Friends
Now I want to tell you about my all time favorite series "Friends" This series I watched for the first time in 2001 when I was encouraged to install DIRECTV cable in my house, as I longed for my son Israel who was about to turn one year old to grow up watching nice things, children's themes and not what an authoritarian government intended to impose on us.
The series is about the lives of a group of friends - Rachel Green, Phoebe Buffay, Joey Tribbiani Monica Geller, Ross Geller, and Chandler Bing, - who reside in Manhattan, New York. It is a comedy based on friendship, good times and bad times such as: triumphs, love, the past and the future. I remember that the series was shown in the mornings and it made me laugh a lot. This series I had never seen it from the beginning, it was until 2019 in the framework of its 25th anniversary that I watched it from beginning to end, I think it was 3 days in which I did not miss a single chapter; in total there were 10 wonderful seasons that I would undoubtedly return to see again and again.

The story kicks off in a New York City cafe called Central Perk, where the six friends meet daily to share their experiences. Some of them live in the same building or apartment, they are constantly in situations very similar to reality, such as having a love relationship, looking for a job, helping a friend, moving, getting married and much more. But in the different stages they don't fail to make you laugh with their black, satirical and ironic humor.
[Black humor is a type of humor that is exercised in relation to things that arise in everyday life].
I don't know what it is about this series that hooks me when I watch it, my husband and my children make fun of me but I love it, it fascinates me. A few months ago in the middle of the pandemic my son Israel told me this phrase "No wonder my mom likes this series" and since then he also watches it. That's something that makes me laugh because now they know why they see me watching those chapters again and again and again and again and again.
Dick and Jane: Thieves of Laughter
The movie starring Jim Carrey and Téa Leoni, is a film that describes the devouring capitalism that overwhelms us today, where the one who has the most is the one who is worth the most. This story tells us about the life of Dick Harper (Jim Carrey) who works as an executive of Globodyne, a world leader in the consolidation of media properties; one day Dick is surprised with a new executive position that fills him with joy but what he doesn't know is that he is being used as a guinea pig since the president of the company knows that the company is about to go bankrupt.
This makes Jim's family happy and causes his wife Jane (Téa Leoni) who works as a travel agent to quit. Dick is sent to give an interview on a television channel where it is discovered that the company is bankrupt and he is left as the bad guy in the movie. From there, a series of situations that make you die laughing start to happen in the movie. I just invite you to watch it for a lot of fun.
The Grinch
The Grinch is based on a Christmas children's story written by Dr. Seuss in 1957. It was brought to the big screen in 2000 and starred Jim Carrey, Taylor Momsen, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Molly Shannon, Bill Irwin, Clint Howard.
The Grinch is a character in the shape of an elf, green and hairy, who is very bitter and lives far away in the mountains because he cannot stand living with the citizens of "Villa Quien". His main annoyance, anger, frustration or obstinacy is because no one in the community has been able to explain to him why Christmas is celebrated. For this reason he hates everything that has to do with this unique holiday that makes everyone's heart happy. The Grinch can't stand Christmas music, lights, trees, presents, clothes, anything that has to do with the traditional holiday.
The Grinch does not live alone, in his house or cave he lives with his faithful dog that now I realize I do not remember the name (I already have homework for the next time I see him). He repudiates all the actions that take place at Christmas, he thinks that people don't really feel what they say and that their clothes and decorations only consist of a competition to see who stands out the most. Giving gifts seems obnoxious to him, it is already something that only suits the stores to sell and sell and make money with the holidays. If we analyze this part a little bit we can say that the Grinch was not so wrong and in part he is right.
But there is a little girl who changes everything, Little Cindy Lou (Taylor Momsen) learns the true story of the Grinch and why he has such an aggressive attitude. She does everything to convince people that the true essence of Christmas is not gifts, but family togetherness, being with friends, sharing and being friends with everyone without looking at who. That is why the Grinch is invited to celebrate Christmas Eve with the inhabitants of "Villa who" and from here on a series of events occur that are to die for laughter.
Here in my country there are some who have the Grinch syndrome, but I am sure that with love and affection we can transform a few hearts to feel the spirit of Christmas.
"Alf" The Alien
Alf is a mythical extraterrestrial character who lived with an American family after his spaceship had a breakdown and accidentally fell on the roof of the Tanner family's garage, a middle-class family where Willie (Max Wright), his wife Kate (Anne Schedeen), their children Lynn (Andrea Elson) and Brian (Benji Gregory) and Lucky, the cat, lived. His real name was Gordon Shumway, from the planet Melmac, he was nicknamed ALF which stood for "Alien Life Form". Alf's form was very strange, his whole body was covered in orange fur, he had a curvy snout, facial moles, eight stomachs and he liked to eat cats.
The family from the beginning refused to hand Alf over to the authorities as they knew he would be the subject of scientific studies that could put the alien at risk of death. The most difficult thing to hide Alf were his neighbors "the Ochmonek" who were very gossipy and were always aware of the lives of their neighbors.
Alf managed to adapt to earthly life and vice versa and between crazy situations Alf stole not only the Tanner's heart but the heart of the whole world. Here is a short video where they show some of the funniest scenes of Alf.

Hoy quiero comenzar mi repertorio de películas de comedia con la favorita de todas, la trilogía de Bridget Jones. La historia de la película está basada en la novela de Helen Fielding, es protagonizada por Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth y Hugh Grant.
La primera de esta saga es estrenada en el año 2001 y captura el corazón de muchas mujeres que nos sentimos identificadas con el personaje. La historia comienza una noche en navidad cuando Bridget se encuentra sola y algo pasada de copas en su apartamento interpretando la canción “Todo por mi cuenta” (All By Myself) de Céline Dion. Ella se encuentra en un momento de su vida donde está atravesando por muchas frustraciones como la obesidad, la soltería y un rollo con su edad.
Esa misma noche ella toma la decisión de escribir un diario para contar la historia de su vida. A los días su familia organiza una reunión con el único fin de conseguirle novio a Bridget y es cuando conoce a un famoso abogado, serio y obstinado llamado Mark Darcy interpretado por el guapo y excelente actor Colin Firth. Lamentablemente este primer encuentro entre ambos no sale muy bien ya que no tienen nada en común. Inquieta de conseguir una pareja a como diera lugar decide darle una oportunidad al mujeriego y galán de galanes Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) quien es su jefe. Entre enredos y desilusiones va avanzando la película que enfrenta a dos hombres por el amor de una mujer.
La segunda película sale en 2004 “Bridget Jones al borde de la locura” protagoniza por los mismos actores de la primera cinta. Aquí Bridget se muestra más feliz y entusiasta ya que tiene muchas cosas que antes no tenía, entre eso su novio Mark; pero todo se complica cuando Mark le presenta a su colega Rebeca quien llegará para desatar una serie de sentimientos como celos e inseguridad en la protagonista que hará que ropa su relación con Mark Darcy.
Por casualidades de la vida bridget viaja a Tailandia por cuestiones de trabajo con su antiguo jefe Cleaver, quien aprovecha para volverla a enamorar pero por suerte ella descubre que él no es nada serio en sus sentimientos cuando lo descubre con una prostituta tailandesa. Ella decide volver a casa y es apresada cuando le encuentran en su equipaje un adorno contentivo de droga que bridget llevaba inocentemente en su equipaje por querer hacerle un favor al novio de su amiga.
Estando en la cárcel sucede una de las escenas que más me gustan en esta película ya que Bridget enseña a cantar a las reclusas la canción “Like a virgen de Madona” también se hacen muy amigas y cuando Bridget sale en libertad les regala Sostenes de marca y el libro las mujeres son de marte y los hombres de venus” , las presas tailandesas le hacen caer en cuenta a bridget que Mark es un buen hombre que la ama, la respeta y la valora. Tanto la primera como la segunda cinta de Bridget Jones tienen algo en particular ya que Mark defiende su amor en contra de los deseos de Cleaver de echarle a perder su relación.
“El bebé de Bridget Jones” y cuando nadie lo creía posible sale a la pantalla una nueva película de este personaje con las mismas características cómicas, divertidas que te mantendrán en suspenso hasta el último minuto. Todo inicia muy bien aparentemente, Bridget quien se encuentra a punto de celebrar su cumpleaños número 43, tiene un trabajo exitoso y se mantiene en un peso ideal, pero nada es perfecto en esta vida y se encuentra soltera y sin compromiso. En esta película todos nos damos cuenta de cómo ha pasado el tiempo, ya Bridget está bastante cambiada y ni hablar de Mark Darcy.
Por cosas del destino Bridget conoce a Jack Qwant ( Patrick Dempsey) con quien hace sostiene relaciones en una noche de locura y pasión, al pasar los días ella se reencuentra con su antiguo novio Mark y ambos se dan cuenta que el amor que había entre ellos seguía intacto. El destino le juega una mala pasada a Bridget cuando queda en estado y no sabe quién es el padre. A medida que va pasando su embarazo ambos chicos van peleando con el amor de bridget y van sucediendo una serie de cosas que te harán morir de la risa.
Friends
Ahora les quiero hablar de mi serie favorita de todos los tiempos “Friends” Esta serie la vi por primera vez en el año 2001 cuando me animé a instalar cable de DIRECTV en mi casa, ya que anhelaba que mi hijo Israel quien estaba a punto de cumplir un año creciera viendo cosas bonitas, temas infantiles y no lo que un gobierno autoritario pretendía imponernos.
La serie trata sobre la vida de un grupo de amigos — Rachel Green, Phoebe Buffay, Joey Tribbiani Monica Geller, Ross Geller, y Chandler Bing,— que residen en Manhattan, Nueva York. Es una comedia basada en la amistad, los buenos y malos momentos como: los triunfos, el amor, el pasado y el futuro. Recuerdo que la serie la pasaban en las mañanas y me hacia reír muchísimo. Esta serie nunca la había visto desde el principio, fue hasta el año 2019 en el marco de su aniversario número 25 que la vi de principio a fin, creo que fueron 3 días en el que no me perdí ni un solo capitulo; en total fueron 10 temporadas maravillosas que sin duda alguna volvería a ver una y otra vez.

La historia da inicio en un café de Nueva York, llamado Central Perk, donde los seis amigos se reúnen a diario para compartir sus vivencias. Algunos de ellos viven en el mismo edificio o apartamento, constantemente están en situaciones muy parecidas a la realidad, como tener una relación amorosa, buscar un trabajo, ayudar a un amigo, mudarse, casarse y mucho más. Pero en las diferentes etapas no dejan de hacerte reir con su humor negro, satírico e irónico.
[El humor negro es un tipo de humor que se ejerce a propósito de cosas que suscitan en la vida diaria.]
Yo no sé qué tiene esta serie que me engancha cuando la veo, mi esposo y mis hijos se burlan de mí pero es que me encanta, me fascina. Hace unos meses en medio de la pandemia mi hijo Israel me dijo esta frase “Con razón a mi mamá le gusta esta serie” y desde entonces también la ve. Eso es algo que me hace reír porque ahora saben porque me ven viendo esos capítulos una y otra y otra y otra vez.
Dick y Jane: Ladrones de risa
La película protagonizada por Jim Carrey y Téa Leoni, es una película que describe el devorador capitalismo que nos agobia hoy en día, donde el que tiene más es el que más vale. Esta historia nos cuenta sobre la vida de Dick Harper (Jim Carrey) quien trabaja como ejecutivo de Globodyne, empresa líder a nivel mundial en la consolidación de propiedades de medios de comunicación; un día Dick es sorprendido con un nuevo cargo ejecutivo que lo llena de alegría pero lo que en realidad no sabe es que está siendo utilizado como conejillo de indias ya que el presidente de la empresa sabe que la empresa está a punto de quebrar.
Esto alegra a la familia de Jim y hace que su esposa Jane (Téa Leoni) que trabaja como agente de viajes renuncie. Dick es enviado a dar una entrevista en un canal de televisión donde se descubre que la empresa está en quiebra y él queda como el malo de la película. Apartar de allí comienza a suceder en la película una serie de situaciones que te hacen morir de la risa. Solo te invito a verla para que goces un montón.
El Grinch
El Grinch está basada en un cuento infantil navideño escrito por Dr. Seuss en 1957. Fue llevada a la pantalla grande en el año 2000 y sus protagonistas fueron Jim Carrey, Taylor Momsen, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Molly Shannon, Bill Irwin, Clint Howard.
El Grinch es un personaje que tiene forma de duende, de color verde y peludo, que es muy amargado y vive alejado en las montañas ya que no soporta la convivencia con los ciudadanos de “Villa Quien” Su principal molestia, enojo, frustración u obstinación es porque nadie en la comunidad ha sido capaz de explicarle el por qué se celebra la navidad. Por este motivo detesta todo lo que tenga que ver con esta singular festividad que a todos nos alegra el corazón. El Grinch no soporta la música de navidad, tampoco las luces, los árboles, los regalos, la ropa, nada que tenga que ver con la tradicional fiesta.
El Grinch no vive solo, en su casa o cueva convive con su fiel perro que ahora me doy cuenta no me acuerdo el nombre (ya tengo tarea para la próxima vez que lo vea). Él repudia todas las acciones que se realizan en navidad, piensa que la gente en realidad no siente lo que dice y que su ropa y sus adornos solo consisten en una competencia para ver quien sobresale más. Dar regalos le parece detestable, ya es algo que solo le conviene a las tiendas para vender y vender y ganar dinero con las fiestas. Si nos ponemos analizar un poco esta parte podemos decir que el Grinch no estaba tan
equivocado y en parte tiene mucha razón.
Pero hay una niña que lo cambia todo, La pequeña Cindy Lou (Taylor Momsen) se entera de la verdadera historia de Grinch y el porqué de esa actitud agresiva. Ella hace de todo para convencer a la gente de que la verdadera esencia de la navidad no son los regalos, sino es la unión familiar, estar con los amigos, compartir y ser amigos de todos sin mirar a quien. Es por eso que el Grinch es invitado a celebrar la noche de navidad junto a los habitantes de “Villa quien “y a partir de aquí ocurren una serie de eventos que son para morir de risa.
Aquí en mi país existen algunos que tienen el síndrome Grinch, pero estoy segura que con Amor y cariño podemos transformar unos cuantos corazones para que sientan el espíritu de la navidad.
"Alf" El extraterrestre
La familia desde un principio se negó a entregar a Alf a las autoridades ya que sabían que iba a ser objeto de estudios científicos que podrían poner en riesgo de muerte al extraterrestre. Lo más difícil de esconder a Alf eran sus vecinos “los Ochmonek” quienes eran muy chismosos y siempre estaban pendientes de la vida de sus vecinos.
Alf logró adaptarse a la vida terrícola y viceversa y entre situaciones alocadas Alf se robó no solo el corazón de los Tanner sino el corazón del mundo entero. A continuación les dejo un pequeño video donde muestran algunas de las escenas más graciosas de Alf.
Creo que nunca dejaré de ver cada uno de sus capítulos, mis años viendo Alf el extraterrestre fueron muy felices, desde el año 1990 hasta hoy en día cada capítulo me hace reír como si fuera la primera vez. Me genera un sentimiento de ternura su forma de ser, me enloquece su forma de caminar y de reír, es un gran personaje que nos enseña lecciones de vida y nos inspira en cada capítulo para hacer las cosas bien. Y aunque siempre se quiso comer el gato nunca lo logro hacer. Ojala muchos chicos de esta nueva generación pudieran ver esta serie y reír un poco con todos sus enredos y locuras.
