SKIN. Una Metamorfosis Humana, Review. [ES] - [EN]

Un gusto social del que disfruto bastante es el de ver una buena película.

El cine al igual que otras composiciones artísticas amerita comprensión discursiva pero también apreciación estética.

En el rodaje cinematográfico hay una armonía bastante peculiar; ya que invita al público a estar atento a sus sentidos. La composición de guión, actores, música, edición y efectos especiales si son necesarios convierten el ver una película en toda una experiencia artística.

Así, el cine puede comprender varias categorías para llevar a cabo esta experiencia. Desde la ciencia ficción (sci-fi), romance, distopías, clásicos del teatro, etc.

En mi caso, una de esas categorías que me gusta disfrutar son los documentales o rodajes basados en la vida real.

Ese es el caso que traigo el día de hoy Skin es la historia de amor y desarrollo de la conciencia humana expresado en una metamorfosis de pensamientos.

El personaje principal "Bryon Widner" miembro del grupo skinhead decide salir de la sociedad de blancos supremacista en la que participaba y que abiertamente era uno de sus líderes.

Sin embargo salir de ahí se le hará más difícil que aceptar su errado y dañino antiguo camino de vida.

Bryon era un niño que había quedado huérfano y que las malas filosofías de la calle le habrían dado el cobijo y hogar que anhelaba tener. Luego de décadas, la fuerza del amor propio y el cuidado de las nuevas generaciones en las que serán sus hijastras, le habría mostrado la luz que buscaba desde hacía mucho tiempo.

Por otro lado, Bryon también era la cara de la moralidad llevada al fanatismo que en ocasiones solo la juventud es quien nos hace creer que todo lo que hacemos en rebeldía es lo "correcto". Nada más alejado de la realidad que tal pensamiento. Y esa verdad que hiere es lo que hace al personaje de este rodaje quebrarse existencialmente para buscar Una Metamorfosis Humana.

Con la duda existencial rondando, nuestro personaje conoce a quien luego serán sus futuras hijastras, para ser específico la más pequeña de tres niñas. El encuentro sucede porque la pequeña estaba jugando con el perro que le pertenecía, que más que mascota era su compañero de vida y a quien podía contar sus más oscuros temores y horribles angustias.

La escena le parece tan conmovedora que en vez de ser el típico Bad boy, decide sonreír, lo que siempre es el primer paso para la empatía, no solamente para el otro sino con nosotros mismos.

De pronto, se ve rodeado por las hermanas de la pequeña y acto seguido, su futura pareja "Julie Price".

Ver a todas esas dulces personas en un acto tan oscuro y fuerte como lo es un evento neofascita y racista le impactó. Aunque más le impactó cómo lo recibió su propia sociedad.

Al ver que se enfrentaban moralidades entre quien será su futura familia y su antigua manada, empezó su agónico camino de crisis existencial. Pero también inicia un período de reflexión y transformación del personaje de manera sublime.

El amor a Julie y su pequeña jugando con "perro" es incomparable. Desde pasar el peor de los retos, el cual puede ser tener una relación no aprobada por los tuyos, a enfrentarse con quiénes te criaron por querer ser libre y tener un estilo de vida propio.

Así pues, en su odisea no sólo mental y emocional sino real, Bryon literalmente lucha hasta que sale victorioso por primera vez, aceptando su decisión y trabajando por lo que quiere.

De la misma manera, Bryon es la manifestación de que no importa el problema que se esté afrontando todo es posible, sin importar el amargo momento o las tormentas que puedan desatarse en el camino; lo que vale es realmente aferrarse a la voluntad y la meta que se tiene, la perseverancia y el tiempo dará los frutos necesarios para salir victorioso.

Además de todo esta trama, es importante resaltar todo el trabajo de guión, cámara, efectos especiales y dirección. Ya que cada una resalta por sí sola y dentro del rodaje la da una cualidad única.

Para quiénes disfrutan de transiciones limpias y sutiles, es un rodaje que disfrutará mucho, incluyendo el uso de efectos en distintas escenas.

El guión y la dirección son de Guy Nattiv. Un peculiar uso de los símbolos alquímicos reflejados en discursos y una claridad en la ejecución bastante admirables.

Este rodaje se estrenó al mundo en el "Festival de cine de Toronto" (2018) y posteriormente el 26 de julio (2019) en DirecTV Cinema.

Es posible conseguirla en Netflix, por lo cual no será difícil de conseguir, y por ese motivo, además de una bella y bonita trama de superación personal y desarrollo de la conciencia humana, les invito a sorprenderse, llorar y llenarse de bastante entusiasmo con esta película.

A social pleasure that I quite enjoy is watching a good movie.

Cinema, like other artistic compositions, merits discursive comprehension but also aesthetic appreciation.

In filmmaking there is a peculiar harmony; it invites the audience to be attentive to their senses. The composition of script, actors, music, editing and special effects, if necessary, turn watching a film into an artistic experience.

Thus, cinema can comprise several categories to carry out this experience. From science fiction (sci-fi), romance, dystopias, classics of theater, etc.

In my case, one of those categories that I like to enjoy are documentaries or films based on real life.

That is the case that I bring today Skin is the story of love and development of human consciousness expressed in a metamorphosis of thoughts.

The main character "Bryon Widner", a member of the skinhead group, decides to leave the white supremacist society in which he participated and was openly one of its leaders.

However, leaving will be more difficult than accepting his former wrong and harmful way of life.

Bryon was a boy who had been orphaned and the bad philosophies of the street would have given him the shelter and home he longed for. After decades, the strength of self-love and the nurturing of the new generations in his stepdaughters to be, would have shown him the light he had long sought.

On the other hand, Bryon was also the face of morality taken to the fanaticism that sometimes it is only youth that makes us believe that everything we do in rebellion is the "right " thing to do. Nothing could be further from reality than such thinking. And that truth that hurts is what makes the character of this film break existentially to seek A Human Metamorphosis.

With the existential doubt hovering around, our character meets who will later be his future stepdaughters, to be specific the youngest of three girls. The encounter happens because the little girl was playing with the dog that belonged to her, who more than a pet was her life companion and to whom she could tell her darkest fears and horrible anguish.

He finds the scene so touching that instead of being the typical Bad boy, he decides to smile, which is always the first step to empathy, not only for the other but with ourselves.

Suddenly, he is surrounded by the little girl's sisters and immediately after, his future partner "Julie Price".

Seeing all those sweet people in such a dark and strong act as a neo-fascist and racist event shocked him. Even more shocking, though, was how his own society received it.

Seeing moralities clashing between his future family and his former pack, he began his agonizing journey of existential crisis. But it also initiates a period of reflection and transformation of the character in a sublime way.

The love for Julie and her little girl playing with "dog" is incomparable. From going through the worst of challenges, which can be having a relationship not approved by your own, to standing up to those who raised you for wanting to be free and have a lifestyle of your own.

So, in his not only mental and emotional but real odyssey, Bryon literally struggles until he is victorious for the first time, accepting his decision and working for what he wants.

In the same way, Bryon is the manifestation that no matter what problem you are facing, everything is possible, no matter the bitter moment or the storms that may arise along the way; what is important is to really hold on to the will and the goal you have, perseverance and time will give the necessary fruits to emerge victorious.

In addition to all this plot, it is important to highlight all the work of script, camera, special effects and direction. Since each one stands out on its own and within the filming gives it a unique quality.

For those who enjoy clean and subtle transitions, this is a shoot you will enjoy very much, including the use of effects in different scenes.

The script and direction are by Guy Nattiv. A peculiar use of alchemical symbols reflected in quite admirable speeches and clarity of execution.
