This time I bring you the review of a movie that I have already seen about three times, but that continues to surprise me, and it is this production starring the great Denzel Washington and directed by Robert Zemeckis. Just now looking for images for this publication, I could see in the same Google search engine that this actor won the Oscar award for his performance in this role, the pilot Whip.

En esta ocasión les acerco la reseña de una película que ya he visto unas tres veces, pero que me sigue sorprendiendo, y es que se trata de esta producción protagonizada por el gran Denzel Washington y dirigida por Robert Zemeckis. Justo ahora buscando imágenes para esta publicavión, pude ver en el mismo buscador de Google que este actor se llevo el premio Óscar por su actuación en este papel, el del piloto Whip.

Pues bien, básicamente estamos ante un piloto que es un genio y que se encuentra ante una situación e turbulencia generada por una falla en el avión y quien está al mando de la aeronave debe maniobrar de una forma estratégica el medio de transporte para poder aterrizar de la manera más segura posible.
Aunque el avión sufre grandísimos golpes y el momento entre el inicio del desperfecto y el impacto es prolongado y captura la calma de toda alma en aquel viaje, Whip logra dar con el aterrizaje adecuado para la situación, salvando de este modo la vida de la mayoría de los pasajeros y de casi toda la tripulación, pero hay un tema a revisar: el estad de sobriedad del piloto.
La duda se apodera de la policía, de la prensa, de los pasajeros, de sus familias y de toda persona que escucha sobre el accidente: ¿fue realmente un fallo, fue una turbulencia, fue un vuelo mal hecho por el piloto o fue un vuelo realizado de manera inconsciente?
The film is spent analyzing Whip's state of sobriety, who from the very beginning of the film is presented as an addict to both alcohol and drugs. The professional was so good in his performance as a pilot that he had no doubt about failing to plan an aircraft.
Unable to stop drinking and not following the protocol of not drinking or consuming narcotics for a certain number of days prior to the flight, Whip had allowed himself to sink into a state of absolute lack of control and irresponsibility with himself and with the passengers who were about to leave their lives in his own hands.
However... was Whip really responsible for that accident? Will the pilot confess his condition while piloting the plane? Or will they manage to forcibly determine the man's condition? This and more will be discovered as the story progresses.
La película trascurre analizando el estado de sobriedad de Whip, que desde el momento cero de la película es presentado como un adicto tanto al alcohol como a las drogas. El profesional era tan bueno en su desempeño como piloto que no tenía la menor duda de fallar planeando una aeronave.
Sin poder dejar el consumo y sin seguir el protocolo de no beber ni consumir estupefacientes cierta cantidad de días previos al vuelo, Whip se había permitido sumergirse en un estado absoluto de descontrol e irresponsabilidad con él misom y con los pasajeros que estaban a punto de dejar sus vidas en sus propias manos.
Sin embargo… fue realmente responsabilidad de Whip aquel accidente? ¿El piloto confesará su estado mientras piloteaba el avión? ¿O lograrán determinar a la fuerza el estado de este hombre? Esto y más irán descubriendo a medida que avanzan en la historia.
From my point of view, this is one of those films that fascinate me. The fact that it simply addresses a theme in relation to the life of a single main character and manages to capture the audience's attention, seems to me to be a masterpiece of cinema.
At the same time, addressing such a delicate subject as deadictions in the workplace and in an environment in which the protagonist carries out a task that inevitably involves the lives of other people, leads us to reflect on many aspects, from what one decides to delegate to others (in this case we are talking about, as I mentioned, life), to how responsible we are in the work we do.
In addition to commitment, other values are addressed such as sincerity and respect for the life of others and for one's own body; and in fact we see a man who after an insistent struggle to clean up his figure, ends up surrendering to the very truth.
I think it is a film to watch, in fact, it is a production not to be missed, because it is not only well made, but it invites us to reflect a lot.
Desde mi punto de vista, esta es una de esas películas que me fascinan. El hecho de que se aborde simplemente una temática en relación a la vida de un solo personaje principal y que se logre captar la atención del público, me parece una obra magistral del cine.
Al mismo tiempo, abordar un tema tan delicado como es el deadicciones en el ámbito laboral y en un entorno en el cual el protagonista lleva a cabo una tarea que implica indefectiblemente la vida de otras personas, nos conduce a reflexionar sobre bastantes aspectos, desde lo que uno mismo decide delegar a otros (en este caso estamos hablando como mencioné, de la vida), hasta cuán responsables somos en el trabajo que realizamos.
Además del compromiso, se abordan otros valores como la sinceridad y el respeto por la vida ajena y por el propio cuerpo; y de hecho vemos a un hombre que tras una insistente lucha por limpiar su figura, termina cayendo rendido ante la mismísima verdad.
Creo que es una película para ver, de hecho, es una producción para no perderse, porque no sólo está bien hecha, sino que nos invita a reflexionar bastante.
