Manifiesto: una serie que te mantiene alerta!

Una simple turbulencia y unos pasajeros que aterrizan junto con aquel avión aparentemente tan sencillo y complejo como cualquier otro.

Espera, dije… ¿simple turbulencia?

Oops… parece que me equivoqué. Y es que Manifiesto es la historia del vuelo 828, en teoría una inofensiva oferta de la empresa Montero Air en donde ofrecen a los pasajeros de un vuelo, algo de dinero si deciden tomar el avión programado para después.

Algunos pasajeros voluntariamente lo toman, pero otros se van en el vuelo que habían comprado. De esta manera, familias, parejas, amigos, personas solas, terminan abordando un transporte que lejos de atravesar una simple turbulencia, más bien va más allá del tiempo, ya que al aterrizar, se encuentran con un mundo que había avanzado 5 años y que de hecho había dado a esta gente por desaparecida y por lo tanto en la mayoría de los casos, los familiares ya habían hecho el duelo y seguido con sus vidas.

Esto es lo que verán desde el primer momento en la serie, luego, la verdad es que no se si seguir hablando, porque la historia es muy intrigante, y en cada capítulo hay una nueva situación, que es clave para ir entendiendo (o quizás para comprender cada vez menos) qué es lo que está pasando.

Creo que mencionar cualquier ejemplo conducirá a que puedan tener noción de lo que ocurre antes o después en la serie.

Manifest: a TV show that keeps you on your toes!

A simple turbulence and some passengers landing along with that plane apparently as simple and complex as any other.

Wait, I said... simple turbulence?

Oops... it seems I was wrong. Manifest is the story of flight 828, in theory a harmless offer from the company Montero Air where they offer the passengers of a flight, some money if they decide to take the plane scheduled for later.

Some passengers voluntarily take it, but others leave on the flight they had purchased. In this way, families, couples, friends, single people, end up boarding a transport that far from going through a simple turbulence, rather goes beyond time, since upon landing, they find a world that had moved on 5 years and in fact had given these people as missing and therefore in most cases, the relatives had already mourned and moved on with their lives.

This is what you will see from the first moment in the series, then, the truth is that I do not know whether to continue talking, because the story is very intriguing, and in each chapter there is a new situation, which is key to understand (or perhaps to understand less and less) what is happening.

I think that mentioning any example will lead to that you can have a notion of what happens before or after in the series.

¿Qué temas aborda?

Esta serie atraviesa todos los tópicos: religión, vida laboral, vida familiar, estructuras sociales como el matrimonio, sexualidad, fe, valor, y muchos más.

Es una historia podría decirse sobrenatural o de ciencia ficción, que está muy adaptada a la actualidad, ya que incluye situaciones que se relacionan absolutamente con la vida cotidiana.

Podría decirse que es una historia común y corriente atravesada por un evento fuera de lo común que termina brindando a la serie el drama y el suspenso necesarios como para que muchos espectadores queden enganchados pensando qué pasará.

A mi me ocurrió de por momentos tener el impulso de decirle a un personaje “no hagas eso!” Algo que hacía realmente años que no me pasaba.

It could be said that it is an ordinary story crossed by an unusual event that ends up providing the series with the necessary drama and suspense to keep many viewers hooked, wondering what will happen.

It happened to me at times to have the urge to tell a character "don't do that!" Something that hadn't really happened to me in years.

La serie está en Netflix, en donde puede verse teniendo la suscripción. Sus episodios son cortos, de alrededor de 30 o 40 minutos, por lo que es fácil verla y también caer en las garras de la curiosidad y verse de pronto 3 o 4 episodios seguidos.

Es importante tener en cuenta que esta serie se estrenó en la red NBC, en donde fue cancelada. Luego empezaron a transmitirla por Netflix y tras su éxito, decidieron continuarla.

¿Cuántas temporadas tiene?

Actualmente son tres temporadas, pero la cuarta se estaría estrenando el 28 de Agosto de este año (2022).

La primera temporada tiene dieciséis episodios y las otras dos, trece.

The series is on Netflix, where you can watch it with a subscription. Its episodes are short, around 30 or 40 minutes, so it is easy to watch it and also to fall into the clutches of curiosity and suddenly watch 3 or 4 episodes in a row.

Sus personajes principales son Michaela Stone (protagonizada por Melissa Roxburgh) y Ben Stone (Josh Dallas). Ambos son hermanos y habían decidido tomar el avión que salía más tarde.

Sin embargo, aunque ellos están en casi toda la serie, hay muchos otros personajes que tienen mucho peso en la historia. Entre ellos se puede mencionar el hijo de Ben, Cal (Jack Messina), la esposa de Ben, Grace (Athena Karkanis); Jared, ex pareja de Michaela (interpretado por J.R. Ramirez); Olive que es la hermana de Cal (Luna Blaise).

Además, en muchos episodios y definitivamente en las diferentes temporadas, van apareciendo personajes que corresponden en su mayoría a los pasajeros del vuelo o miembros del gobierno, que a medida que tomar su rol en el desarrollo de la serie, van ayudando a rearmar la historia.

Esta serie es una de las mejores que he visto en el último tiempo!! Hacía mucho tiempo que una historia no me generaba realmente intriga y esa necesidad de saber qué va a pasar.

El último episodio me desconcertó por completo! Así que ahora estoy esperando que salga la nueva temporada.

Muy recomendada para aquellos que disfruten del suspenso que nada tiene que ver con el terror, sino más bien con un muy buen manejo de los recursos de persuasión para atrapar al espectador.

This series is one of the best I've seen in a long time! It's been a long time since a story has really generated intrigue and that need to know what's going to happen.

The last episode completely threw me off! So now I'm waiting for the new season to come out.

Highly recommended for those who enjoy suspense that has nothing to do with terror, but rather with a very good management of persuasive resources to trap the viewer.
