The movie No refunds accepted is one of those movies where you can laugh and cry at the same time. It is a dramatic comedy to watch and enjoy with the family. Although at the beginning, it tells the story of a man who is not very committed and does not like responsibilities, in the end this situation changes because life gives him the opportunity to be a father, single, and to assume all that fatherhood implies.

This film is Eugenio Derbez's directorial debut and he also stars as Valentín, along with Jessica Lindsey as Julie -the mother- and Loreto Peralta as Maggie -the little girl-.

I have seen this movie twice, and both times I have felt the same lump in my throat and I have been about to cry when one of Valentín's graces unties it and makes me laugh. Humor is present in the film as a way to mitigate such a dramatic situation as having to hand over custody of the child you raised, adore and for whom you changed your way of living life.

Throughout the film, you can see the everyday family life between Valentín and Maggie, the life they have made together that falls apart when the mother returns to take custody of the girl. Also, there is a secret that Valentin keeps that we won't know until the end. This story reminded me of the saying that A father is not the one who begets, but the one who raises and loves his children, that's what this man did, raising a girl that was not in his plans but he grew to love so much that he was able to do many things for her.

If you like drama with a touch of comedy, you will like this movie. It tackles a complicated and sensitive subject and the ending is overwhelming and touching, but I won't tell you about it to avoid spoilers.
