Greetings, Hive! Today I decided to talk about something very atypical on my blog: Romantic movies. Almost all the audiovisual content I consume is anime or video games, in general I don't watch many movies and the truth is that I'm not exactly a fan of this genre, I haven't seen too many romantic movies either, those who know me know that I have a chicken heart so the fact that I'm not an expert in love movies has not been an impediment to enjoy some of these stories and cry with several of them hahaha. I like this kind of initiatives that apart from giving us ideas to publish, can make you get out of your comfort zone in terms of what you usually publish on your blog. Thanks to @beatriche for creating this initiative that I found out thanks to @ilazramusic's post.

So without any further ado, let's start!
5. Titanic
Ok, I know this may seem basic, cliché, or whatever, but I think Titanic is a reference when we talk about love movies and movies in general. If I'm not mistaken Titanic was the first movie of this genre that I saw and one of the things I liked the most at the time were the scenes that first showed the sunken ship and then the recreation of how it looked at the time, however I was too young to really understand it, I was around 8 or 9 years old, maybe less. During my teenage, with a "better" understanding of love (yes, "better" in quotes, because in adolescence no one has any idea about what love really is) I watched it again, and the truth is that I enjoyed it a lot and it even made me feel sad for a couple of days.
The plot tells the story of the sinking of the Titanic through the eyes of Rose DeWitt (Kate Winslet) and Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio), two young teenagers from different social classes who fall in love during their stay on the ocean liner. This film had an impressive reception and is so far one of the most awarded films in the history of cinema. A reference in and out of its own genre.
4. The Vow
For a long time this movie was recommended to me, but I never saw it because first, I was focused on watching other things that were more interesting to me, and second, because I knew it had the potential to make me cry hahahaha. The fact is that not so long ago while zapping I found it on TV so I decided to watch it, and I loved it, in fact, I regret not having seen it before.
This movie is about how Paige Collins (Rachel McAdams) has a car accident that leaves her in a coma, when she wakes up the first thing she sees is her husband Leo Collins (Channing Tatum) who she doesn’t recognize, and in fact she thinks he is her doctor. Due to the accident, Paige lost her memory about the last years of her life, so she didn’t know why she was married and separated from her family, she didn’t know who Leo was, nor did she know why she had left law school to devote herself to art. During the course of the film we see how Leo tries to win her back again and again, which ends in a series of not so fortunate events.
I think The Vow is one of those movies that make you believe in love in those not so easy love moments of your life, it’s the only one frim this list that didn't make me cry but it did move me a lot. As a curious fact this movie is based on a true story, and Paige Collins never recovered her memory.
Ok, from now on we are in the major leagues.
3. La La Land
I have only been able to see this movie once and I think that's enough, my heart wouldn’t survive a second time hahaha. We are told the story of Mia (Emma Stone), a woman who used to work as a cashier in a coffee shop whose dream is to become a famous actress, and Sebastian, a man passionate about music, especially jazz, who dreams about opening his own jazz club in the city. Their passion for art makes them meet and deeply fall in love, but that same passion forces them to take extremely difficult (and even selfish) decisions in order to pursue their dreams. I think it tells just right how difficult the sentimental life can be for an artist and also how many times we find ourselves in that dilemma between what we want to do and what we must do. The ending of this movie is just spectacular, but it will break your heart in millions of tiny pieces.
2. Your Name | Kimi no Na wa
"I'm always looking for something, a person, a place... I don't remember what it is or where it is, but I know it's important to me..."
If anime is one of the audiovisual media that I enjoy the most, logically this list couldn’t miss a representative of this Japanese art. This film is a delight in every way, from its beautiful animation and its incredible soundtrack, to its touching story. The story of Kimi no Na wa puts us in the shoes of Taki and Mitsuha, two young Japanese who begin to have strange dreams in which they exchange bodies, having repercussions in each other's lives. Not understanding what is happening, they decide to communicate through notes on their cell phones, thus establishing a very special bond between the two.
Usually love movies make us cry because they put us in situations that we take personally, we associate the events with our own love life and wish that what we see on screen happens to us, however this is very difficult to do with Kimi no Na wa since... Those who saw it will obviously know that it’s impossible that what we saw in the film happens in real life, however the film captivates you by its own means and characters and I think that gives it a lot of merit.
If you want to cry with happiness, this is your movie.
1. About Time
At the age of 21, Tim Lake (Domhnall Greeson) discovers that all the men in his family have the ability to travel back in time to moments they had lived before, all he has to do is lock himself in a dark place, close his eyes and fists and visualize the moment he wants to go to. His father is the one to tell this to him, and Tim at first seems very suspicious until he tries it out and realizes it’s real, so he decides to use this power to fix his love life. Later in the film Tim moves to London and meets Mary (Rachel McAdams) and instantly notices the mutual interest they have in each other, however after some rather hilarious events Tim has to use his time travel powers to be able to coincide with Mary.
At first I thought About Time would be a comedy film with tinges of romance, and in fact I thought it would have a tragic ending due to the endless consequences that time travel can bring. I couldn't have been more wrong. About Time is a beautiful film that not only talks about romantic love but also about love for our family and loved ones.
It’s a very special movie for me and one that marked a before and after in my life because I saw it two weeks after my father passed away from cancer, and those who have seen it know that there is a very important plot point related to this. About Time is not only my favorite love movie, but one of my favorite movies in the whole world, and I treasure in my heart the moment I saw it.

¡Saludos, Hive! Hoy decidí hablar de algo muy atípico en mi blog: Películas de amor. Casi todo el contenido audiovisual que consumo es anime o videojuegos, en general no veo muchas películas y la verdad es que no soy precisamente un fan de este género, tampoco he visto demasiadas películas románticas, quienes me conocen saben que tengo corazón de pollo por lo que el hecho de no ser un experto en películas de amor no ha sido impedimento para disfrutar estas historias y llorar con varias de ellas jajaja. Me gusta este tipo de iniciativas que aparte de darnos ideas para publicar, te pueden hacer salir de tu zona de confort en cuanto a lo que sueles publicar en tu blog. Así que sin más preámbulos, ¡comencemos!
5. Titanic
Ok, sé que esto puede parecer básico, cliché, o lo que sea, pero creo que Titanic es todo un referente cuándo hablamos de películas de amor y cine en general. Si no me equivoco Titanic fue la primera película de este género que vi y una de las cosas que más me gustó en su momento eran las escenas que primero mostraban el barco hundido y después la recreación de cómo se veía en su momento, sin embargo era muy joven para entenderla realmente, tenía alrededor de 8 o 9 años, quizás menos. Durante mi adolescencia, con una “mejor” comprensión del amor (si, “mejor” entre comillas, porque en la adolescencia nadie tiene idea de lo que es el amor realmente) volví a verla, y la verdad es que la disfruté muchísimo e incluso me hizo sentir triste por un par de días.
La trama nos cuenta la historia del hundimiento del Titanic a través de los ojos de Rose DeWitt (Kate Winslet) y Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio), dos jóvenes de distintas clases sociales que se enamoraran durante su estadía en el transatlántico. Esta película tuvo una recepción impresionante y es hasta ahora una de las películas más galardonadas a lo largo de la historia del cine. Un referente dentro y fuera de su propio género.
4. Votos de amor
Durante mucho tiempo me recomendaron esta película, pero nunca la vi porque primero estaba enfocado en ver otras cosas que fuesen más de mi interés, y segundo porque sabía que tenía potencial para hacerme llorar jajajaja. El hecho es que hace no tanto haciendo zapping me la encontré en televisión así que pues, decidí verla, y me encantó, de hecho, me arrepiento un poco de no haberla visto antes.
Esta película trata de como Paige Collins (Rachel McAdams) tiene un accidente automovilístico que la deja en coma, al despertar lo primero que ve es a su esposo Leo Collins (Channing Tatum) a quién no reconoce y de hecho piensa que es su doctor. A causa del accidente Paige perdió la memoria acerca de los últimos años de su vida, por lo que no sabía porque estaba casada ni separada de su familia, no sabía quién era Leo, ni tampoco sabía porque había dejado la escuela de derecho para dedicarse al arte. Durante el transcurso de la película vemos como Leo trata de reconquistarla una y otra vez, cosa que termina en una serie de eventos no tan afortunados.
Creo que The Vow es de esas películas que te hacen creer en el amor en momentos no tan fáciles de tu vida amorosa, de esta lista es la única que no me hizo llorar pero si me conmovió bastante. Como dato curioso esta película está basada en una historia real, y Paige Collins nunca recuperó su memoria.
Ok, a partir de aquí entramos en las ligas mayores.
3. La La Land
Esta película he podido verla solamente una vez y creo que eso es suficiente, mi corazón no soportaría una segunda vez jajaja. En ella nos cuentan la historia de Mia (Emma Stone), una mujer que trabajaba como cajera en un cafetín cuyo sueño es convertirse en una famosa actriz, y Sebastian, un hombre apasionado por la música, en especial el jazz, que sueña con abrir su propio club de jazz en la ciudad. La pasión por el arte hace que se encuentren y se enamoren profundamente, pero esa misma pasión los hace tomar decisiones extremadamente duras (e incluso egoístas) para poder seguir con sus sueños. Creo que relata muy bien lo difícil que puede llegar a ser la vida sentimental para un artista y también el cómo muchas veces nos encontramos en ese dilema entre lo que queremos hacer y lo que debemos hacer. El final de esta película es simplemente espectacular, pero romperá tu corazón en millones de pedacitos muy pequeños.
2. Tu nombre | Kimi no Na wa
“Siempre estoy buscando algo, una persona, un lugar… No recuerdo que es o donde está, pero sé que es importante para mi…”
Si el anime es uno de los medios audiovisuales que más disfruto, lógicamente en esta lista no podía faltar un representante de este arte japonés. Esta película es un deleite en todo sentido, desde su preciosa animación, pasando por su increíble banda sonora, hasta su conmovedora historia. La historia de Kimi no Na wa nos pone en la piel de Taki y Mitsuha, dos jóvenes japoneses que comienzan a tener sueños extraños en los que intercambian cuerpos, teniendo repercusión en la vida del otro. Al no entender lo que está sucediendo deciden comunicarse a través de notas en sus celulares, entablando así un lazo muy especial entre los dos.
Normalmente las películas de amor nos hacen llorar porque nos ponen en situaciones que nos tomamos personales, asociamos los hechos con nuestra propia vida amorosa y deseamos que lo que vemos en pantalla nos pase a nosotros, sin embargo esto es muy difícil de hacer con Kimi no Na wa ya que pues… Quienes la vieron sabrán obviamente que es imposible que pase lo que pasa en la película, sin embargo la película te cautiva por sus propios medios y personajes y creo que eso le da muchísimo mérito.
Si quieren llorar de felicidad, esta es su película.
1. Cuestión de Tiempo
A los 21 años, Tim Lake (Domhnall Greeson) descubre que todos los hombres de su familia tienen la capacidad de viajar en el tiempo a momentos que haya vivido antes, lo único que debe hacer es encerrarse en un lugar oscuro, cerrar los ojos y los puños y visualizar al momento al que quiere ir. Esto se lo dice a su padre, y Tim al comienzo parece muy desconfiado de esto hasta que lo prueba y se da cuenta que es real, así que decide usar este poder para mejorar su vida amorosa. Más adelante en la película Tim se muda a Londres y conoce a Mary (Rachel McAdams) y al instante se nota el mutuo interés que tienen el uno al otro, sin embargo tras algunos acontecimientos bastante hilarantes Tim tiene que usar sus poderes de viajar en el tiempo para poder coincidir con Mary
Al principio pensé que About Time sería una película de comedia con tintes de romance, y de hecho pensaba que al final todo tendría un final trágico debido a las infinitas consecuencias que puede traer viajar en el tiempo. No pude estar más equivocado. About Time es una película preciosa que no habla solo del amor romántico sino también del amor hacia nuestros familiares y seres queridos.
Es una película muy especial para mí y que marcó un antes y un después en mi vida ya que la vi dos semanas después de que mi padre falleciera de cáncer, y quienes la han visto saben que hay un punto argumental en la trama muy importante relacionado a esto. About Time no es solo mi película de amor favorita, sino una de mis películas favoritas en todo el mundo, y atesoro en mi corazón con mucho cariño el momento en el que la vi.
After all this wasn’t as difficult as I expected, as much as we want to deny it, we all have dreamed of living a movie love, and maybe that's the reason why sometimes we make such bad love decisions hahahaha. The best thing about the entertainment industry is that it has something for everyone, just as I’m not a fan of this kind of movies and I have enjoyed several of them. What about you? Después de todo hacer esto no fue tan difícil como me lo esperaba, por más que queramos negarlo todos hemos soñado alguna vez con vivir un amor de película, y quizás esa sea la razón por la que a veces tomamos tan malas decisiones amorosas jajajaja. Lo mejor de la industria del entretenimiento es que tiene algo para todos los gustos, así como yo que no soy fanático de este tipo de películas y he disfrutado de varias de ellas. ¿Y tú? ¿Cuál es tu película romántica favorita?
