Mushroom Monday - The shaggy ink cap

Hello, fungi lovers.

Today I'll share with you a few photos of the shaggy ink caps (Coprinus comatus) I found next to the lake I regularly visit.

It is an edible mushroom when young before the gills start to turn black.

Because of the autodigestion of its gills and cap, it turns black and is not edible anymore. It is suggested to prepare and eat them soon after being collected.
