Porcelain fungus, an autumn ballerina on a beech tree

This amazingly beautiful and delicate tree fungus is not very common. It appears in autumn, which should be damp and warm. It grows mainly on beech trees, branches and trunks.

The hat has a white or off-white color, often semi-transparent, and has a slippery, slimy surface. It can reach up to 8 cm in diameter. The adult mushroom has an umbrella shape.

The gills are sparse white in color, varying in length with varying length between the gills resembling a little jellyfish.

A very thin leg is fragile and brittle, hollow inside, with fine lint and a fibrous structure. A delicate ring is visible. The leg can reach up to 8 cm in height.

The characteristic milk-white flesh has a mild taste and is devoid of a perceptible smell.

The mushroom looks beautiful when photographed from below, when the sun's rays shine through its hat. The hat looks like a dress waving in the wind.

The mushroom has no culinary uses and is considered inedible.

Be careful 😉
