Hey mushroom lovers, happy #fungifriday! Lately, it rarely rains in the area where I live. But in one place, I found mushrooms that grow in groups very well.
I don't think it's a coincidence why they can grow when the dry season hits. Because where they grow, it is very close to rice fields. The irrigation channel that drains water into the rice fields is still functioning quite well so that the dead coconut trunks - where the fungus grows - which are located on the edge of the rice fields are always damp and rotting. What's more, the dead coconut trunk is protected from the sun because it is in a shady position.
What about these species of mushrooms? I think they are close to the genus Gymnopilus which is a genus of gilled mushrooms belonging to the Strophariaceae family. The surface of the caps is rusty and reddish in color.
Below are mushrooms that are dry and wilted, they don't last long from being exposed to sunburn.
That is my expedition with #fungifriday as well as my contribution to the Fungi Lovers Community.
