Christmas Concert [Eng/Esp]

Since I was a child, music was part of my life and to see Miranda start in this beautiful world, full of great values and enjoy it as she does is a blessing.

Desde muy pequeña la música fue parte de mi vida y ver a Miranda iniciarse en éste mundo tan hermoso, lleno de grandes valores y disfrutarlo como lo hace es toda una bendición.

It's going pretty well around here. Starting the preparations for the hallacas and although I have debated between making a different version I am so attached to the traditions that surely I end up making the same as always, but this is not what I want to talk about, because I will do it another time, surely in #hivefood, so today I will tell you about the New Year's Eve concert of the Orchestra where Miranda takes classes.

This concert is already a tradition in the different centers that operate on the island and the center to which Miranda belongs (La Asuncion) a few months ago decided to divide the groups when it comes to perform since there are many musicians and the logistics are complicated, so this year Kinder Musical, the Recorder and Oriental Soul Programs will perform together on the fifteenth and the Orchestral and Choral Program concert was set for the twentieth.

Miranda, as she is just starting, although she has already started violin lessons (her definitive instrument), remains for a while longer in the Recorder Program, so both her concert and end of the year sharing would be on the fifteenth.

Por estos lados bastante bien. Iniciando los preparativos para las hallacas y aunque me he debatido entre hacer una versión diferente estoy tan apegada a las tradiciones que seguramente termino haciendo las mismas de siempre, pero de ésto no es lo que quiero hablarles, pues ya lo haré en otra oportunidad, seguramente en #hivefood, así que hoy les contaré del concierto de fin de año de la Orquesta donde toma clases Miranda.

Este concierto ya es toda una tradición en los diferentes núcleos que funcionan en la Isla y el núcleo al que pertenece Miranda (La Asunción) hace unos meses decidió dividir los grupos a la hora de presentarse ya que son muchos músicos y se complica la logística, por lo que éste año Kinder Musical, los Programas de Flauta Dulce y Alma Oriental se presentarían juntos el día quince y para el día veinte se fijó el concierto del Programa Orquestal y Coral.

Miranda como está iniciando, aunque ya comenzó a tomar clases de violín (su instrumento definitivo) permanece por un tiempo más en el Programa de Flauta Dulce, asi que tanto su concierto como compartir de fin de año sería el día quince.

That day, in order not to lose the habit we were a little complicated because it coincided with Miranda's sharing at school and although the school and the orchestra are quite close, both are quite far from our house, so having to be at 1:00pm at the theater where the concert would be impossible to return home to change clothes for the Orchestra uniform, so we decided to have lunch early to pick Miranda up at the school and continue to where the concert would be.

With that in mind we tried to get organized, but a small unforeseen event came up that delayed us a bit, so we ended up eating in the car on the way to the concert, Matias and I and my husband just didn't have lunch. Miranda ate in the plaza as we usually do on Mondays and then we went to a nearby store to change her clothes.

The running around that day was not normal, but as a family we are there to support each other in everything and for Miranda to see us there with her is very important, because after weeks of rehearsals and many hours of practice the day of her presentation had arrived and we could not miss the chance to be with her living that moment that for her was very special and exciting.

Ése día, para no perder la costumbre estábamos un poco complicados pues coincidió con el compartir de Miranda en la escuela y aunque la escuela y la orquesta están bastante cerca, ambas están bastante alejadas de nuestra casa, por lo que al tener que estar a la 1:00pm en el teatro donde sería el concierto era imposible regresar a casa para que se cambiara de ropa por el uniforme de la Orquesta, así que decidimos almorzar temprano para pasar recogiendo a Miranda por el colegio y seguir hasta donde sería el concierto.

Con eso en mente tratamos de organizarnos, pero surgió un pequeño imprevisto que nos demoró un poco, por lo que terminamos comiendo en el carro de camino al concierto Matías y yo y mi esposo simplemente no almorzo. Por su parte Miranda comió en la plaza como solemos hacer los días Lunes y luego fuimos a un local cercano para que se cambiara de ropa.

El corre corre ése día no fue normal, pero como familia estamos para apoyarnos en todo y para Miranda vernos ahí con ella es súper importante, pues luego de semanas de ensayos y muchas horas de práctica había llegado el día de su presentación y no podíamos dejar de estar con ella viviendo a su lado ése momento que para ella fue súper especial y emocionante.

Once she was in her uniform we went to the theater that was already beginning to fill up with family and musicians and we took some family pictures and with one of her flute partners.

The atmosphere before a concert is incredible; for the musician, even if it is a short piece like Miranda's, it is a lot of excitement and nervousness and for the parents it is pure pride to see our children with their uniform, instrument in hand, moving in the middle of this group of musicians who are much older than them.

Undoubtedly, this type of activities helps our children a lot, not only to strengthen values such as responsibility, discipline, perseverance and many more, but to create bonds among their peers and socialize, which is essential since they are in the process of formation, so we are happy with the two decisions Miranda has made for her extracurricular activities, since both the ballet and the orchestra meet these objectives in addition to helping their personal development in every way.

Una vez estuvo con su uniforme nos fuimos al teatro que ya estaba comenzando a llenarse de familiares y músicos y aprovechamos de tomar algunas fotografías familiares y con una de sus compañeras de flauta.

El ambiente que se vive previo a un concierto es increíble; para el músico, así sea una pieza corta como la de Miranda es de mucha emoción y nerviosismo y para los padres es orgullo puro al ver a nuestros niños con su uniforme, instrumento en mano moviéndose en medio de éste grupo de músicos que en buena medida son más grandes que ellos.

Sin lugar a dudas, este tipo de actividades ayuda muchísimo a nuestros niños, no sólo a fortalecer valores como responsabilidad, disciplina, perseverancia y muchos más, sino a crear lazos entre sus compañeros y socializar, lo que es primordial ya que están en proceso de formación, por lo que estamos felices de las dos decisiones que ha tomado Miranda para sus actividades extraescolares, ya que tanto el ballet como la orquesta cumplen con esos objetivos además de ayudar a su desarrollo personal en todo sentido.

One of the things that I love about the Orchestra in this type of events is the punctuality, since it is one of the things that I value very much, because I am very responsible about it and I have nothing to say about the Orchestra, except that they are very punctual, so at approximately 1:30 the children were organized and entered the hall, while the relatives waited fifteen minutes more to enter and at 2:00pm the concert started very punctually.

The children were very well organized waiting for their turn thanks to the protocol moms and the act began with the Kinder Musical, the youngest of the house who performed traditional aguinaldos of our country in the company of their teacher and as always happens when such young children are presented, it was a very nice and fun act.

Next came the children of the Recorder Program, which is composed of three levels. In Miranda's case, she is part of the third level but she served as a support to the children of the first level, so she had two presentations.

With the First Level he interpreted "Silent Night " and with his group, the popular "Tucusito " accompanied by some musicians of Prograna Alma Oriental and I must say that the piece was too beautiful with the accompaniment of this group and to finish the act all the members of Alma Oriental interpreted for us in addition to aguinaldos, some traditional songs of our state.

Una de las cosas que me encanta de la Orquesta en éste tipo de actos es la puntualidad, ya que es una de las cosas que valoro muchísimo, pues yo soy bastante responsable en cuanto a eso y de la Orquesta no tengo nada que decir, salvo que son súper cumplidos, por lo que a la 1:30 aproximadamente los niños fueron organizados y entraron a la sala, mientras los familiares esperamos quince minutos más para ingresar y a las 2:00pm de forma muy puntual iniciaba el concierto.

Los niños estaban muy bien organizados esperando su turno gracias a las mamás de protocolo y el acto dió inicio con el Kinder Musical, los más pequeñitos de la casa que interpretaron aguinaldos tradicionales de nuestro país en compañía de su profesora y como sucede siempre que se presentan niños tan pequeños, fue un acto súper lindo y divertido.

Seguidamente pasaron los niños del Programa de Flauta Dulce que está compuesto por tres niveles. En el caso de Miranda ella forma parte del tercer nivel pero sirvió de apoyo a los niños del primer nivel, por lo que tuvo dos presentaciones.

Con el Primer Nivel interpretó "Noche de Paz" y con su grupo, el popular "Tucusito" acompañado por algunos músicos del Prograna Alma Oriental y debo decir que la pieza quedó demasiado bella con el acompañamiento de éste grupo y para finalizar el acto la totalidad de los integrantes de Alma Oriental interpretaron para nosotros además de aguinaldos, algunas canciones tradicionales de nuestro estado.

The truth was a beautiful concert, since it is exclusively for children and adolescents, it gives much more value to the dedication of musicians and parents or representatives that day by day we go with our children and we hope while they attend their classes, so this closing is a validation of all the work done at home and in the orchestra.

Grateful to all the teachers who impart their knowledge in each class to so many children, in a practically disinterested way because their salaries leave much to be desired, but for the love of music and what they do, they continue sowing and cultivating values in children and adolescents.

La verdad fue un concierto precioso, ya que al tratarse de niños y adolescentes exclusivamente le da muchísimo más valor a la dedicación de músicos y padres o representantes que día a día vamos con nuestros niños y esperamos mientras asisten a sus clases, por lo que éste cierre es una validación a todo el trabajo que se hace en casa y en la orquesta.

Agradecida con todos los profesores que imparten sus conocimientos en cada cátedra a tantos niños, de manera prácticamente desinteresada porque sus salarios dejan mucho que desear, pero por amor a la música y a lo que hacen continúan adelante sembrando y cultivando valores en niños y adolescentes.

For me as a mother to see my children in any of their activities is of great satisfaction because I can see that their efforts and dedication are bearing fruit and that being in the plaza waiting for them is not wasted time, on the contrary. We are working together with them in their growth and in the formation of their character and personality.

On the other hand, accompanying them in their triumphs and defeats makes them self-confident children, who know that their parents are their safe harbor and that they will be there for them as long as God allows them to be. They are loved, valued, taken into account and supported children and we on our side are happy parents, totally proud and blessed to have the wonderful children we have.

Para mí como mamá ver a mis niños en cualquiera de sus actividades es de gran satisfacción porque puedo ver que su empeño y dedicación están dando frutos y que estar en la plaza esperando por ellos no es tiempo perdido, todo lo contrario. Estamos trabajando junto a ellos en su crecimiento y en la formación de su carácter y personalidad.

Por otro lado acompañarlos en sus triunfos y derrotas hace de ellos niños seguros en sí mismos, que saben que sus padres son su puerto seguro y que estarán para ellos el tiempo que Dios les permita estarlo. Son niños amados, valorados, tomados en cuenta y apoyados y nosotros por nuestro lado somos padres felices, totalmente orgullosos y bendecidos por tener los niños maravillosos que tenemos.
