Cosas que hay que saber sobre un recién nacido
En la especie humana a diferencia de otros animales, las crías nacen completamente indefensas y esa condición se mantiene así por mucho tiempo, dependen de sus padres para sobrevivir.
El cuerpo del recién nacido es delicado y hay que estar muy pendiente de sus necesidades primarias, pero al mismo tiempo hay que ayudarlo a fortalecer su sistema inmunológico.
- La alimentación debe ser preferiblemente con leche materna, porque es a través de esta que el bebé recibe los anticuerpos necesarios para su defensa ante agentes que ocasionan enfermedades. La madres tenemos que estar muy pendientes de lo que comemos mientras amamantamos o los medicamentos que pudiéramos estar tomando porque parte de esas sustancias pasan a la leche materna. Siempre es bueno consultar al pediatra sobre si se pueden tomar o no.
- Hay que controlar la temperatura del ambiente ya que los recién nacidos son muy sensibles a los cambios bruscos de temperatura, tanto si hace frío como a un exceso de calor. Es importante vestirlos con ropa cómoda generalmente de algodón si el clima es caluroso o abrigarlos si hace mucho frío, sobre todo mantener su cabeza cubierta con un gorrito.
- La exposición al sol : Es importante durante los primeros días, que el bebé pueda exponerse al sol de la mañana, porque lo necesita para que su cuerpo pueda sintetizar la vitamina D. Para que esto ocurra debemos exponer gran parte de su piel al contacto con la luz solar, es decir que a menos que el clima sea muy frío, se le coloca poca ropa, una franelilla y un pañal sería muy adecuado.
- La piel es delicada y puede irritarse fácilmente sobre todo con el uso de los pañales, algunos materiales pueden causarle salpullidos, así que hay que ir probando. Tanto si usa pañales desechables como los de tela, deben cambiarse con frecuencia para evitar las irritaciones que son muy molestas y dolorosas. El polvo de almidón es muy útil para mantener seca esa zona y evitar irritaciones.
- Son muy propensos a los cólicos y a devolver parte de lo que comen, bocanadas, esto es normal porque su sistema digestivo se está adaptando a una nueva forma de alimentarse, acuérdense que paso 9 meses en el útero donde se alimentaba directamente de la sangre materna a través del cordón umbilical. Esto ocurre durante los primeros dos o tres meses, así que no nos asustemos si esto ocurre porque para el bebe no es molesto. Yo acostumbraba siempre a tener un pañal de tela de algodón para limpiarlo,eso no podía faltar, sobre todo si salia con el fuera de casa.

- The temperature of the environment must be controlled since newborns are very sensitive to sudden changes in temperature, whether it is cold or too hot. It is important to dress them in comfortable clothes, generally made of cotton if the weather is hot, or to keep them warm if it is very cold, especially keeping their head covered with a hat.
- Exposure to the sun: It is important during the first days that the baby can be exposed to the morning sun, because he needs it so that his body can synthesize the vitamin D. For this to happen we must expose much of their skin to sunlight, that is to say that unless the weather is very cold, it is placed little clothing, a flannel and a diaper would be very appropriate.
- The skin is delicate and can be easily irritated especially with the use of diapers, some materials can cause rashes, so you have to go testing. Whether you use disposable or cloth diapers, they should be changed frequently to avoid irritations that are very annoying and painful. Starch powder is very useful to keep the area dry and avoid irritation.
- They are very prone to colic and to give back part of what they eat, mouthfuls, this is normal because their digestive system is adapting to a new way of feeding, remember that they spent 9 months in the womb where they fed directly from the mother's blood through the umbilical cord. This happens during the first two or three months, so let's not panic if this happens because it is not bothersome for the baby. I used to always have a cotton cloth diaper to clean him, that was a must, especially if I went out with him outside the house.
