Hello friends, I hope you are well, today I want to share with you a topic of great importance to me and that I consider that many should bear in mind when meeting and interacting with children with autism, because it is not about understanding them but about better understanding their condition to help them improve their relationships, since in general the vast majority of children with autism are considered unsociable, whiny, spoiled and much more. But this is not the reality. All this is easy to say when we observe from the outside, without really knowing what their processes are and that they often lead them to act in ways that are not appropriate for some.
That is why I want to talk to you about some basic and important aspects that we must take into account. The first thing is that they do not look at your face or cannot keep their gaze fixed at the time of a photograph, it is not because they do not want to do it, but that staring causes them discomfort because it is very difficult for them to listen to us and look at us at the same time. They do not eat out of cravings nor do they like to waste food, they simply have taste sensory difficulties and tend to reject textures and flavors.
Hola amigos espero se encuentren bien, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un tema de mucha importancia para mi y que considero que muchos deben tener presente a la hora de conocer y relacionarse con niños con autismo, pues no se trata de entenderlos sino de comprender mejor su condición para ayudarlos a mejorar sus relaciones, ya que por lo general a la gran mayoría de los niños con autismo los consideran poco sociables, llorones, malcriados y mucho más. Pero esta no es la realidad.
Todo esto es fácil decirlo cuando observamos desde afuera, sin conocer realmente cuales son sus procesos y que los conllevan muchas veces a actuar de maneras poco apropiadas para algunos. Es por eso que quiero hablarles de algunos aspectos básicos e importantes que debemos tener en cuenta. Lo primero es que no te miran a la cara o no pueden mantener la mirada fija a la hora de una fotografía no es porque no lo quieran hacer, sino que mirar fijamente les causa malestar pues les cuesta mucho escucharnos y mirarnos a la vez. No comen por antojos ni les gusta desperdiciar la comida simplemente tienen dificultades sensoriales gustativas y tienden a rechazar texturas y sabores.
Children with autism do not go crazy as some say to not pay attention and they do not live on another planet, they are simply very sensitive to noises or sounds, even to some activities which disturb them that is why they isolate themselves, they are very orderly and obsessive with their routines and activities and they do not usually bother because they do, because they do not consider changes as simple things since it causes them anguish and generates frustration and anger, it is not just another tantrum.
One of the most important aspects is that they tend to balance, move their hands or move strangely because they have repetitive behaviors, for example walking and moving like a dinosaur can be their way of expressing that they do not like something and feel inner chaos.
Los niños con autismo no se hacen los locos como dicen algunos para no prestar atención y tampoco viven en otro planeta, simplemente son muy sensibles a ruidos o sonidos, incluso a algunas actividades las cuales le perturban es por esto que se aislan, son muy ordenamos y obsesivos con sus rutinas y actividades y no suelen molestarse porque si, pues no consideran los cambios como cosas simples ya que les causa angustia y le genera frustración y rabia no es solo un berrinche más.
Uno de los aspectos más importantes es que tienden a balancearse, mover sus manos o moverse de forma extraña pues tienen conductas repetitivas, por ejemplo caminar y moverse como un dinosaurio puede ser su manera de expresar que no le gusta algo y siente caos interior.
Well friends, I hope that these basic aspects help you to know a little more about autistic children and understand their attitudes a little. Although the best way to understand is to know that we are all the same, we just have to accept each person equally.
Bueno amigos espero que estos aspectos básicos le sirvan para conocer un poco más a los niños autistas y comprender un poco sus actitudes. Aunque la mejor manera de entender es saber que todos somos iguales solo debemos aceptar a cada persona por igual.
