De los carnavales de Gabriel, tan solo recuerdo dos (mi hijo ya tiene 20 años en la actualidad). No fuì de disfrazarlo demasiado. Creo que la ilusión de uno como madre o padre, es la fotografía para los recuerdos que, después de muchos años, veremos con nostalgia y aquella frase de Ay, que rápido pasò el tiempo. De estos momentos conservaba solo fotografías físicas (impresas). En aquel entonces no existía la digitalización de imágenes o al menos, no estaba a mi alcance aùn. Estuve buscando en el baúl de los recuerdos y encontrè algunas fotos de los dos únicos carnavales en los que Gabriel se disfrazó.

Uno de ellos fuè cuando tan solo tenía dos añitos de edad. Recuerdo que su madrina, Marìa Cova, le hizo un trajecito de Pedro Picapiedra. Era algo asì como un traje tipo vestido como el de Pedro en la comiquita. Algo muy sencillo pero lindo para los recuerdos.

Les muestro varias fotografías con su abuelo Antonio (Toto lo llama Gabriel desde pequeño), en uno de esos días que íbamos a las avenidas de la ciudad, a ver los desfiles de comparsas carnestolendas. Esa era una costumbre, llevar a nuestros niños disfrazados a ver esos desfiles que en ese tiempo resultaban ser muy bonitos.

Of Gabriel's carnivals, I only remember two (my son is now 20 years old). I didn't dress him up too much. I think that the illusion of one as a mother or father is the photography for the memories that, after many years, we will see with nostalgia and that phrase of Ay, how fast time went by.
Of these moments I kept only physical (printed) photographs. At that time there was no digitalization of images, or at least, it was not yet within my reach. I was looking in the trunk of memories and found some pictures of the only two carnivals in which Gabriel dressed up.

One of them was when he was only two years old. I remember that his godmother, Marìa Cova, made him a little Flintstone costume. It was something like a dress-like suit like the one Pedro wore in the cartoon. Something very simple but nice for memories.

I show you some photography with his grandfather Antonio (Toto calls him Gabriel since he was a child), in one of those days we went to the avenues of the city, to see the carnival parades. That was a custom, to take our children in costume to see those parades that at that time were very beautiful.

El otro momento fuè cuando ya Gabriel estaba en el colegio y tenía alrededor de 5 años de edad. En el colegio preparaban las comparsas en carnaval y los sacaban a desfilar en las calles cercanas. Muy bonita actividad, la disfrutè mucho de ver a los niños tan hermosamente trajeados en sus disfraces.

Gabriel se disfrazò de Pirata en ese entonces y la comparsa quedò muy bella. Desfilaron en las calles cercanas al colegio. Yo estaba muy emocionada y, de hecho, ese dìa casi tuve un accidente porque en la emoción de tomar las fotos de mi pequeño en el desfile, tropecé con una piedra y casi caigo al piso. Uno de los padres me ayudò y evitò que eso me sucediera. Cosas que quedan para el recuerdo, asì como la sonrisa de nuestros hijos en esos instantes. Sonrisas que nos alimentan el alma y nos hacen evocar tantos sentimientos que nos llenan la vida de amor.

The other time was when Gabriel was already in school and was about 5 years old. In the school, they prepared the carnival troupes and took them out to parade in the nearby streets. Very nice activity, I enjoyed seeing the children so beautifully dressed in their costumes.

Gabriel dressed up as a Pirate back then and the comparsa turned out to be very beautiful. They paraded in the streets near the school. I was very excited and, in fact, that day I almost had an accident because, in the excitement of taking pictures of my little boy in the parade, I tripped over a rock and almost fell to the ground. One of the parents helped me and prevented that from happening to me. Things that remain in our memories, as well as the smiles of our children in those moments. Smiles that feed our souls and evoke so many feelings that fill our lives with love.
