Terapia de Estimulación Temprana | Importancia [ESP-ENG]

Hace un año que mi esposo y yo tomamos la decisión de que nuestro hijo menor estuviera en terapias de Estimulación Temprana y aunque quizás fue un poco tarde ya, porque tenía 2 años y no meses, este tipo de terapias es importante para todo niño, más aún cuando vienen con antecedentes familiares de alguna condición, como autismo.

A veces creemos que nuestros niños deben desarrollarse, así como crecen, de manera natural, pero lo ideal es estimular su desarrollo y habilidades. Ningún niño aprende a usar una tijera y corta un papel, si nunca le acercas una. Ese era el caso de Joaquín, él no se ensuciaba no porque no le gustaba, como yo creía, si no porque nunca lo dejaba jugar con arena o ensuciarse y en las terapias descubrí y ví que es importante este tipo de estimulación.

A year ago my husband and I made the decision for our youngest son to be in Early Stimulation therapies and although it may have been a little late, because he was 2 years old and not months, this type of therapy is important for every child, even more so when they come with a family history of some condition, such as autism.

Sometimes we believe that our children should develop as they grow, in a natural way, but the ideal is to stimulate their development and abilities. No child learns to use a scissors and cut a piece of paper if you never bring one near him. That was the case with Joaquin, he did not get dirty not because he did not like it, as I thought, but because I never let him play with sand or get dirty and in the therapies I discovered and saw that this type of stimulation is important.

Joaquín tenía un pequeño retraso en su desarrollo, aún nos cuesta la parte del habla, aunque él sabe decir muchas palabras e identifica quién es su papá, mamá, hermanas y abuelos. También sabe quién es la maestra y terapeutas. Sigue órdenes, entendiendo lo que se le manda a hacer y aunque a veces le cuesta entender a la primera, agarra con facilidad el ritmo. Cuando empezó a asistir a terapias, mi niño no sabía ni pintar 😃 si es mi culpa, pero resulta que entre tantas cosas que debía hacer, tanta atención que debía darle a Amelie su hermanita mayor, olvidaba que él también necesitaba apoyo y dedicación.

Ya está en los estándares de desarrollo gramaticales de un niño de 3 años 😅. Por ahora solo está aprendiendo de esta etapa a distinguir entre lo que es pequeño y grande, ya que un niño de 3 años según los estudiados, debería saber eso.

Joaquin had a small delay in his development, we still struggle with the speech part, although he knows how to say many words and identifies who his dad, mom, sisters and grandparents are. He also knows who the teacher and therapists are. He follows orders, understanding what he is told to do and although sometimes it is hard for him to understand at first, he picks up the rhythm easily. When he started attending therapies, my son didn't even know how to paint 😃 if it's my fault, but it turns out that between so many things he had to do, so much attention he had to give to Amelie, his older sister, he forgot that he also needed support and dedication.

He is already at the grammatical developmental standards of a 3 year old 😅. For now he is only learning from this stage to distinguish between small and large, as a 3 year old according to those studied, he should know that.

Estás terapias han sido muy buenas e importantes para él, tanto así que ya pinta, está aprendiendo conmigo a pintar mejor, le dedicó más tiempo y le enseño cosas. También ya patea la pelota, jugar siempre lo hizo, pero ahora arma formas por imitación de Legos y esto me ha dejado sorprendido 😳, ya que el hace con los Legos la forma que le indican en la imagen. Y a pesar de que tenemos una lucha con su parte conductual, ya que esto es lo que realmente le afecta e influye en su falta de atención, él sigue las instrucciones.

Como padres debemos entender que no está mal un niño porque necesite terapias 😂, más bien todos deberíamos asistir a alguna jaja. Es importante conocer el tipo de desarrollo que deben tener nuestros niños, sus etapas y más aún, si lo están logrando para su edad con normalidad y si no es así, estimularlo a qué lo hagan.

These therapies have been very good and important for him, so much so that he already paints, he is learning with me to paint better, I spend more time with him and teach him things. He also kicks the ball, he always played, but now he makes shapes by imitating Legos and this has surprised me 😳, since he makes with the Legos the shape that is indicated in the image. And even though we have a struggle with his behavioral part, as this is what really affects him and influences his lack of attention, he follows the instructions.

As parents we should understand that it is not wrong for a child because he needs therapies 😂, rather we should all attend some haha. It is important to know the type of development that our children should have, their stages and even more, if they are achieving it for their age normally and if not, encourage them to do it.
