Hello Hive friends, I hope you are well, God willing. I want to share with you a small situation that I recently experienced with my granddaughter and that has taught me that words and trust have weight.
I have previously commented that I am in charge of caring for my granddaughter, because her parents are out of the country and could not take care of her. Lis came into my life in the month of July and from there my life changed completely, I have joined a roller coaster of emotions and continuous learning about the behaviors of autistic children, with different learning and lifestyles.
In general, Lis is a very tender, affectionate and happy girl. She has Autism and other neurological conditions that often limit her learning flow. But, a few days ago we had a situation:
We were in the kitchen, Lis enjoys helping me wash the dressings and some vegetables. But always, she avoids chili peppers because she says she can't open them to extract the seeds. In view of this I tell him: Don't set limits, say instead: Yes I can.
Lis looked at me amazed because I placed a couple of chili peppers in her hands. To which I then asked her: If she can or can't she?.
She responded: If she can. (In a happy, exalted and confident tone). She opened the peppers and perfectly extracted the seeds and internal pulp.
That seemed pretty cute to me. She made me reflect on the importance that words have on children and on the impulse and effect that the people around them have on them. And even more so in Lis, where her speech repertoire is quite limited. I felt satisfaction.
Lis now does not limit herself to many things that she did, she has become more positive and confident. She has added to her answers: Yes she can. It's actually to refer to Yes I can, but I applaud your learning 👏.
Lis and School Activities:
Lis has had many challenges so far this year, she has learned letters, numbers, colors and some new words. As for her motor skills, it is improving every day, it has not been a process of just one day, but rather small steps and practices on a daily basis. I believe that doing a little every day with consistency is what brings us real results. Currently she manages to make short copies with more legible and understandable letters, They look really nice on her!.
She also enjoys much more recreational activities such as drawing, painting and doing some crafts. She is having easier movements when painting, she also recognizes and locates colored objects and assigns them according to what they are. That is, she assigns traditional colors such as black or brown shoes, or perhaps skin colors varying in salmon or light brown.
The impulse and support that we provide to children will greatly define the child's decision-making and reception of new activities. Carrying out new and different activities requires courage and a receptive cognitive process, in addition to a company of deductive thoughts. Due to her condition, Lis fears new things. She usually does the same things every day, but little by little we are trying new things together.

Hola amigos de Hive, espero estén bien Dios mediante. Quiero compartir con ustedes una pequeña situación que viví recientemente con mi nieta y que me ha dejado de aprendizaje que las palabras y confianza tienen peso.
Anteriormente he comentado que estoy a cargo del cuidado de mi nieta, porque sus padres se encuentran fuera del país y no podían cuidarle. Lis llegó a mi vida en el mes de julio y desde allí mi vida cambió completamente, me he sumado a una montaña rusa de emociones y aprendizajes continuos sobre los comportamientos de niños autistas, de diferente aprendizaje y estilo de vida.
Por lo general, Lis es una niña muy tierna, cariñosa y alegre. Tiene Autismo y otras condiciones neurológicas que muchas veces limitan el flujo de su aprendizaje. Pero, hace unos días tuvimos una situación:
Estábamos en la cocina, Lis disfruta de ayudarme a lavar los aliños y algunos vegetales. Pero siempre, evita los ajíes porque dice que no puede abrirlos para extraer las semillas. En vista de esto le digo: No te pongas límites, di en su lugar: Si puedo.
Lis me miró asombrada porque le coloqué en sus manos un par de ajíes. A lo que yo seguidamente le pregunté: ¿Si puede o no puede?.
Ella respondió: Si puede. (En un tono alegre, exaltado y seguro). Abrió los ajíes y extrajo perfectamente las semillas y la pulpa interna.
Eso, me pareció bastante lindo. Me hizo reflexionar sobre la importancia que tienen las palabras en los niños y sobre el impulso y efecto que tenemos las personas que le rodean sobre éstos. Y más aún en Lis, donde su repertorio del habla es bastante limitado. Sentí satisfacción.
Lis ahora no se limita ante muchas cosas que si lo hacía, se ha vuelto más positiva y segura. Ha añadido a sus respuestas: Si puede. En realidad es para referirse a Si puedo, pero aplaudo su aprendizaje 👏.
Lis y las Actividades Escolares:
Lis ha tenido muchos retos en lo que va de año, ha aprendido letras, números, colores y algunas palabras nuevas. En cuanto a su motricidad va mejorando cada día, no ha sido un proceso de solo un día, sino de pequeños pasos y prácticas de manera diaria. Creo que hacer un poco cada día con constancia es lo que nos trae verdaderos resultados. Actualmente logra realizar copias cortas con letras más legibles y entendibles, ¡Le quedan realmente lindas!.
Además disfruta mucho más de actividades recreativas como dibujar, pintar y hacer algunas manualidades. Esta teniendo más facilidad de movimientos para pintar, también reconoce y ubica objetos de colores y los asigna según lo que sean. Es decir, asigna colores tradicionales como zapatos en color negro o marrón, o quizás colores de piel variando en salmón o marrón claro.
El impulso y apoyo que brindemos a los niños definirá mucho la toma de decisiones y recepción de actividades nuevas por el infante. Realizar actividades nuevas y diferentes requieren de coraje y un proceso cognitivo receptivo, además de una compañía de pensamientos deductores, Lis por su condición teme a nuevas cosas. Suele hacer las mismas cosas de manera diaria, pero poco a poco estamos intentando nuevas cosas juntas.
